My partner and I rented snowboarding gear for a weekend up on the mountain. The gentlemen running the store are efficient and knowledgeable! Don’t pay attention to these negative reviews. We accidentally lost one of our rented helmets in the Lodge and the employees of the store were completely understanding of the situation! They were not rude about it and did not even charge us for our mistake.

This past weekend I rented gear from my daughter here for the first time. We had experienced equipment shortages up at White Pass on holidays before, and wanted to play it safe, so decided to give the Sports Hut a try. Very pleasantly surprised!Service was great - staff were very attentive and helpful with the equipment, and making sure my daughter was comfortable and getting the right size. There was no line, and they were very quick at getting us in and out and back on the road. They even have a nice dog inside the shop which was a big bonus for my daughter!We had planned to return the gear that evening, after returning from White Pass, but unfortunately we had a family emergency arise and had to help with that. I called the shop to let them know we wouldn't be able to return the gear until the next day, and they said no problem. We were detoured to Eastern Washington for the night, and didn't make it back to Packwood until late afternoon the next day. Staff were completely understanding and gave us no trouble about the late return; they thanked us for the heads up and were glad to hear everyone was okay.Needless to say, I was very happy with our experience here and we will be gladly returning again very soon!!

It’s so funny seeing all of the bad reviews for this place. The crew in here have a sense of humor, I guess nowadays people just want something to be upset about. I rented from here all season for 22-23 and never had a single problem. The equipment is good, the customer service is just fine and the people in here are great. The pup that’s always running around is a plus too.

If you’re going to white pass to get some runs in and you need some gear, this is definitely the place. Really helpful and kind owners, after going there for a few weekends they gave me the helmet I rented! Definitely recommend them

Great place! Customer service was great! My husband and I rented a snowboard/boots and we found the service really helpful. They have the coolest dog. They even gave us a a receipt with the sizing for when we come back. We will be recommending them to any of our friends who needs rentals.

If I could give this place less than one star I would. Everyone there especially the old white man with the thin rim glasses is one of the rudest individuals I’ve ever encountered. I agree with all these reviews about the staff being rude but especially this guy.The younger staff are a lot nicer, and seem to have more patience and common sense on how to talk to people.If you can rent equipment literally anywhere else, then do it. Save yourself.

I love this place! I stopped by on my way from Yakima to Olympia and I was looking for some specific Green Trails maps. They had them!! Very friendly people and reasonable prices. I'll definitely be stopping by again when I have more time!

My first time skiing in 20 years and the rental shop staff were amazing. They were super helpful and exceptionally chill. Definitely deserve a raise.

Rented my first board from these guys 5 years ago and have been bringing my friends to them ever since. Good prices. Good gear, especially as they have been upgrading lately. Not quite a 5 star because customer service is hit or miss. The older gentleman can be a bit gruff, but everyone else is pleasant to work with.

My friend and I entered the store and asked about air mattresses. The older man behind the counter told us we wouldn’t find what we were looking for in the entire town without even trying to help us. Now, for some context I am Dominican and my good friend is black. He didn’t say anything derivative but it leaves one to wonder. Will never go back to that store.

NO MASKS WORN AND SPOTTY CUSTOMER SERVICE. Sadly, I tend to agree with the comments on customer service. It really depends who you get (some 1 star, some 3 star). The 1 star service has usually been around poor ability to even try to answer questions from new skiers regarding fit and equipment. Customer service is a big part of my day, so I'm sensitive when there is no effort to lead this in a company. If there was any competition in town, they would be forced to either change or shut down. I was very disappointed that no effort was made to wear masks at all during the Pandemic. Though we wore masks, it made my family (and I) very uncomfortable. Equipment has been good and fitted well. I have to say, however, the combination of the lack of customer service has led me to for the first time in years look at renting directly at the mountain which has been recommended. I do not like writing poor reviews, I consider 3 star generous and fair for their overall service, though customer service dips down to a 2 (sometimes 1) and the response to the Pandemic was a real disappointment.

Entered and saw staff were not wearing masks or social distancing. We politely asked if they had masks they could wear while we were there. They yelled at us that they would not be wearing masks, even though it is required by law. One of them then ripped the paperwork from my Wife's hand. We told them we would be renting elsewhere and we're glad we did. Even if they disagreed with wearing masks, they still should not treat customers like trash. Will never be back and will report them to L&I.

No masks worn. We are season pass holders and come up every weekend. I wanted to support a local business when my son wanted to ski rather than snowboard. But immediately felt unsafe when other customers came in with no masks. As a person of color my risk is higher and I was disappointed that they did not care about my health risk. I was also surprised they charged more to rents skis than the rental place at White Pass. Yes its up to me to stay safe so I just want to warn other who care about their safety too. On upside folks were friendly and gear was good.

We spent a few days at a cabin and used them for our downhill rentals. It was fast and great. Our kids went up a few days later. The weather wasn’t great. He swears he told everyone the conditions. Three teens said he didn’t say a word. White pass didn’t open their lifts. So my kids took the skis back. No refund. No rain check. They could have kept them another day but that wasn’t an option. I understand it is a tough spot to be in as a business owner, but it is also part of the industry. A rain check that we may of used or not would be great customer service and he would have gotten more business from us. Unfortunately, they lost our business and anyone else we talk to. I am so saddened by this experience.

The folks were nice and there was only one other group there so it went really quick. We are in the middle of a pandemic and NO ONE in the shop, 4+ folks, were masked. I won't be back if they cannot care enough about their customers to protect them.

Very poor customer service. The older worker was extremely rude to our family. I will never patronize this business again and just rent at the mountain like we have done for years. None of the workers are wearing masks either during this pandemic, which is just inconsiderate to say the least. Prices are the same on the mountain, so just rent there.

Nothing good to say about this place. Rentals are cheaper at the lodge at White Pass. The staff is rude. I asked about renting boots in the late morning. To my face, they insinuated that I was stupid for even trying. I also heard them insulting me under their breath.

Great place, and you don't have to wear a mask. It's refreshing to see people that haven't bought into all the nonsense. This is a private business and they should be able to make their own decisions about masks. Just like costco is for authoritarianism, these guys are for freedom.

Fast, efficient, and well priced! The guys were so helpful with my whole family, but especially my sensory sensitive little guy who was really struggling with the boots. Don’t even bother going anywhere else for your rentals!

Avoid this place at all cost! My family and I where treated terribly on a recent weekend trip to White Pass Ski area. For starters their website is out of date on pricing - thought that we would save money renting here versus at the mountain but ended up spending just as much or even more. To outfit my family of 5 for two days was nearly $350.00 - instead go to the mountain, it is much more convenient. The worst part was when our trip was cut short a day due to a family emergency. We returned the ski equipment prior to closing on the first day and the owner did not even offer to refund us for the second day. When I asked him about a refund he pointed to a sign that said 'No Refunds', and said "the contract is between my equipment and you!". When I asked him (nicely) about the principle of the thing and what the right thing to do was, he just shook his head and as I left he literally yelled "THANK YOU", I was so embarrassed for my family. In nearly 30 years of skiing this is the worst experience by far. This small town shop is after one thing - money! Avoid it and support White Pass Ski Resort instead, at least they care about their customers.

The gear all worked fine and relatively competative pricing but the main guys was impressively rude. This is a customer service industry and he was very quick to blame any confusion on the customer.Also, their all-paper organization system is laughable. Packwood was an awesome weekend town, just rent your ski gear on the mountain and it'll be that much better of an experience

This is the place for a quick reliable rental service close to the mountain. Prices may be a little cheaper than the summit. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back again this season. Thanks ya'll.

Unbelievably rude. Like pulling teeth to get acknowledgement or any kind service while in the store. Owner does not wear a mask as you might imagine. Dude needs a new line of work. I am telling all of my AirBnb people to avoid this shop and rent on the mountain pro shop

Lots of basic gear for activities in the area; Gear rental, fishing gear, maps, and apparel found here. Fun shop and good prices for last minute purchases as you get away into the surrounding mountains.
