This store is to go place for all the grocery needs when you are staying at Packwood, WA. We bought groceries for dinner and breakfast. Produce and fruits were fresh and at reasonable price.

If I could give you no stars I would!My husband picked up our daughter from her grandparent’s, as she was staying with them in Olympia and we were camping at Bumping Lake.My hubby picked up our daughter and headed to a store on the way back to campsite for a tomato and he decided to also pick up some beer. He and our daughter were looking for a particular beer brand and she was pointing them out to her Dad. My hubby noticed when he walked in the store he was being watched, but he being Mexican he is used to old white people eyeing him.My hubby and daughter went to self check out and my hubby started ringing up his items, as soon as he slid beer across, he waited for attendant.The same lady that was watching them walked right up to our daughter, not my hubby, and asked for her id. My hubby asked “why are you asking for her id, I’m the one buying the beer”? She then again asked our daughter for Id, my hubby again asked why she needed her id as he is the one purchasing. The lady then asked “is she your daughter?” and my hubby stated “yes!” the lady looked both of the up and down, back and forth and again asked for our daughter’s id. This time my hubby was not so nice and raised his voice telling her she doesn’t need to see her id and she is his daughter.The lady then wanted to quiet my hubby up stating “enough said” and that they are having issues with adults buying beer for minors.At the end of it all, the lady never even glanced at my hubby’s id nor did she apologize, for what I can only hope was a misunderstanding!Not all families look alike nor are they the same color. This employee could definitely use unconscious bias training!

The new owners are destroying this store. Found mold on the produce last time and they overcharge for everything. Almost $3 for a heath bar compared to the shell across the street for $1.75. Insane.... they don't even have a decent selection at the store. I feel like price inflation can be detrimental as it disproportionately affects local residents in Packwood who may have limited alternatives. This disparity in pricing results in financial strain for residents who rely on local businesses, impacting their overall cost of living. My concern is the produce being offered at the store is low quality as there has been mold on 3/5 items I was considering buying. If your going to charge those prices make sure your produce is good in quality.

I stopped in real quick in October 2023 on the way to My St. Helens to pick up some Ibuprofen for my wife. This store definitely seems to be the go-to place for groceries and personal care items. Well maintained and organized. They might have higher prices than what you may be used too, but that is due to it being one of the few stores in the area.

Will not sell age restricted items people of age with vertical IDs because, “they’re easier to fake”. Washington state legal IDs can still be vertical. If you’re worried about fake IDs then train your staff to identify them instead of denying legal IDs???

The tall young gentlemen with dark hair who was supervising self check out was extremely friendly and helpful. I thought I left my phone at the check out area and he even helped me look - luckily it was in my car haha. I was asking him questions about self check out and he was knowledgeable.Nicely stocked store- we bought parmesan cheese, bread, apples, and I even ended up buying a rainbow slice of cake here that I wasn’t planning on- I hope it tastes as good as it looks 😋

Had a very pleasant experience here thanks to a friendly employee, Nick! I had trouble trying to find a specific item and thankfully he took the time to help me find it. He was very kind and patient. Store overall is nice and clean😊

I understand prices are crazy these days but since new owners seems like them prices keep going up. Kinda feels weird with the self checkout and a group of workers just standing there chit chatting watching you. Don’t greet you either. One night it was hard to find a clerk so i could use my points.

Blanton’s was our source of food and supplies for our Airbnb trip to Mt Rainier. Remember to bring your own bags because they charge for using their bags (seams to be a trend in Washington State). They had everything we needed for our stay at a nearby Airbnb. It is a small store and matches the town.

As the only relatively well stocked grocery store in the area, the produce was good quality, and the employees we interacted with were friendly. The "fresh" meat selection was very limited and some of the meat was expired while others did not have expiration dates listed. Prices were on the higher end, but that is to be expected due to the remote location.

Whenever we go camping in this area, I always enjoy stopping here to get ice and other sundries. A wonderful country grocery store. Take a moment and look at the other things they are selling aside from groceries. I’ve bought books and artisan gifts here. They have a nice hot case deli. The produce was very fresh. The staff was so friendly and helpful and everyone was following safety protocols. I love this little store.

Indoor restrooms off llimits. Outside portapotties only with no hand sanitizer. Wanted some hot deli food, but there's no access to a sink to wash your hands and self checkout only... At a rural IGA.This place sucks.

First shopping for my sons 12th b day for snack and cake we stopped at the fast food/ fried food place and made eye contact at least 2 times just to get her to look back at the fryer and not say anything for at least 90 sec. and come over like she hates her job and barley help us for prices cause we are out of town. Then she helped us without even talking to us it was very cold . Then It took over 8 minutes for our self checkout to process just to have it not work ? We tried again and it froze they said they canceled it but couldn’t give us our receipt. Now I have to wait to see if I’m charged and I’m 2 hours away from here so what then ? Not to mention they needed 3/4 people to figure this out and the short grey haired woman(seriously worse customer service, we will always buy before town because of her attitude) was so rude after two self checkout attempts she had to ring my friend up at a register and she asked “ do you have a membership card?” She said “no I’m not from here” she said “ you could just said no” wow !!!! (We brought some friends from Louisiana and my friends brought up to me here was the first time they have been talked to like this :/. ) she said she would never come back the way she was talked to and looked at.

We come up to Packwood once to twice a year to stay at our friends cabin and I love this place. The humans that work here are so cheerful and helpful. I often hear as I’m checking out “did you find everything okay?” and once I mentioned that I hadn’t and she stopped the whole process of checking out and helped me find the item I had walked right on by! This visit was no exception. I just went in to grab bandaids as I gouged myself pretty good and I was in the self care aisle and there was a worker and an older gentleman. The older gentleman wasn’t well dressed or clean cut but when he asked for help finding laxatives I watched this young man assist him like he was their most important customer and even sit on the floor (the items were on the bottom shelf) and walk the man through which product he may prefer. Unbelievable customer service. This is the only grocery for miles, so they kind of have the monopoly on the grocery business, but that doesn’t keep them from making sure you have the very best customer service. Also, we’re a vegan family and love that there is so many faux meat options. Thank you!

This store seemed nice, well stocked, friendly staff. The biggest misconception is what's sitting on the shelves. Expired product. Very disappointed that the money I spent in snacks amounted to nothing. I completely lost out and because this was a stop through, I didn't know until I was at my campsite and took my first bite of week old, yes week old, hard donut. I put my trust into a store rotating their products and keeping fresh product on their shelves but was greatly disappointed in the loss I incurred because of expired products. I'm contacting the manufacturer in hopes of recouping my loss and perhaps helping this market understand the impact of carrying expired goods and the result on an unassuming consumer.

Don't buy perishables here. The hot foods in the deli were still there the next day available for purchase. Yuck. Some very brown meat in the display. We bought TV dinners here. I felt it was quite pricey but I'm from the Midwest. Staff was friendly though.

I went in and asked if there were any safety pins, which they didn't have. I mentioned it was too reset my router. One of the Blanton folks brought me a paper clip. Who gives that kind of service anymore?! Clearly it worked out as I'm using that router to leave this review! :)

This store is price gouging the people of this area. Blanton's charges $5.85 for an exact $2.85 loaf of bread. Everything is twice the price. Profit is the only thing that that matters to these ruthless owners.

Clean and the items on shelves are neatly arranged. It has an automatic hand sanitizer at the entrance/exit door and antibacterial wipes for shopping carts. The staff are fantastic and has excellent customer service.

We were driving by and saw elk behind the store so we stopped just to look. The staff at the market gave us helpful hints on how to feed them apples from our hands. They didn't have to be nice and tell us anything but they decided to anyway and we hadn't even purchased anything from the store.

Has great bargains for locals. Is reasonably competitve. Personable attitudes by cashiers and stockers alike. Deli is clean and the food is good. The shelves are usually well stocked with a large variety of items.
