Here's our baby, Mittens (formerly Old Spice), adopted from ACPR via PetSmart. We almost felt bad adopting him because of how close he'd gotten to the staff at PetSmart! They took very good care of him, especially as he was the last one adopted from his litter. He's such a sweet and loving cat, and came home with us quite healthy. Had a minor upper respiratory infection, which is common with rescues, but he's all better now. He has lots of kitten energy, and gets along well with our older cat. Adoption process with ACPR was easy -- filled out some forms, waited for them to verify references, and we were able to take him home later that day. It really was meant to be!

In 2014 I adopted my Shiba Inu who needed additional training with the prison inmate program. It was their first Shiba and are difficult to train unless you start early in life. ACPR chose me because I had 14 years with my first shiba and it was a good thing because it isn't a breed for everyone. He became such a great dog once he learned I was the pack leader 😉 I was so glad that I was chosen to adopt him. He was from a backyard breeder and eventually developed genetic glaucoma and had his eyes removed at age 3 1/2 years and did amazing as a blind dog. He died from throat cancer in June 2023 at age 10 and I miss him so much.LouAnn Barbanell

This rescue is doing great work in the community, and I'm sure it feels like it's never enough. We got our dog from Adam's and the adoption experience was both thorough and easy to navigate. Communication was great. It's easy to see the staff are passionate and want to get animals off the street into stable homes. I tell all my friends and acquaintances about Adam's County rescue.

Wonderful shelter ran by an amazing staff. They truly care about getting animals into homes and it shows. Anita was calling me with updates all through the process last December and we are so thankful for everyone at ACPR for matching us with our Peach! (Formerly Elliptical). For those of us in Western Washington, it is quite the drive, but you really will not get better service and caring staff anywhere else.

This place should be shut down. They took my dog off my property and had him neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and operated on at the vet all within a couple hours of taking him. Their current policy states they wait 72 hours for owners to claim their dogs but decided they needed to get a post up on Facebook to make some money off my dog immediately after picking him up. They would not return my dog to me until I paid them for all the bills they racked up at the vet and they are continuing to collect donations for my dog that is no longer in their possession. This is a money grab to pad some pockets, they do not care about the animals just how to steal personal property for their own gain.

We adopted 2 Chihuahua puppy sisters named Chula and Nina. The dogs were part of the Coyote Ridge Correctional Facility training program. This program lets inmates live with the dogs 24 hours a day for a few weeks and the inmates obedience train the animals. At 12 weeks old the puppies are better trained than our neighbors 6 year old Chihuahua. Not to mention they were spayed, microchiped, and had all thete shots for only $300 a dog. We picked them up from the prison, met the inmates who trained them, and got a folder full of observations on the animals personalities and likes and dislikes. The experience was rich and so rewarding I will never forget it. The folks at ACPR are truly amazing dedicated animal lovers and I can't think of a better place to go get a pet that will enrich your life.

Had a wonderful experience at Adams County Pet Rescue. Was able to put in an application online and within a few days got approval for the dog I wanted. Picked her up the next day and everything went smooth as pie. She had all her vaccines and was spayed so I wont have to do anything Vet wise for her until 6 months. We named her Lilo and love her so much. Thank you for helping us add to our family. We love you Adams County Pet Rescue. 😘😍💗💗💗💗🐶❤❤❤❤

This is the most loving, kind, and careing animal shelter I have ever seen. The staff is very good to those animals and they were kind to me and helpful. They even have a place outside for the animals to run around and play with each other. THANKYOU ADAMS COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER FOR BEING KIND TO ANIMALS!!! YOU GUYS ARE A BLESSING!!! They really do care about giving those animals to a good home. I recently adopted my dog from there.

My husband had seen a post about a beautiful pit Bull named Polo so we applied for him and received that call back the next week. We drove there from Poulsbo Wa to meet and pick up our sweet boy. The adoption process was very simple and they answered all of our questions as we had a lot. When we got Polo home it was an adjustment for him but the love he showed his humans was endless. Due to the fact we have other animals in the home it just wasn’t working out the way we had hoped so we contacted them and explain the situation and they were very understanding and helped us to make the hard decision to bring him back. While I was there they showed us their other fur babies that needed a home.That’s when we found our Willow girl! Thank you ACPR for all you do for those animals.

We drove from Seattle to Othello to get this beautiful puppy! The staff was amazing, very kind and welcoming, this shelter runs with all the safety conditions that the rescued animals of the county need and they do it with love. We are very thankful to have adopted our puppy there.

I applied for a puppy I saw on their Facebook page and received a call back a few days later. The adoption process was very easy and quick. I drove from seattle to Othello and I would definitely adopt from here again!

A neighbor moved n left his cat behind we put a crate out mid January and would feed him. It got too cold out n couldn't take him in because of my 2 cats inside. When i first called they had no room... So i kept looking around.. I got a msg they had room if we still had him... So we took him. The staff was AWESOME. They explained what will happen n usually they get adopted in about 1 week or so... Can't wait to see his forever family. Heres a pic of me n leroy...

This place was very clean when we went to visit and look for a new family member to adopt. The staff was very friendly, from the counter person to the handlers of the animals they were all friendly and new information on most of the animals traits and behaviors. Upon adoption, the interview was pretty thorough, and they made sure that our new addition was a good fit for both the dog and us. If we ever decided on adding another to our family again, I would go here first.

6 weeks ago we got our wonderful dog here and they were wonderful! Helped us pick just the right dog for our family and we love her so much! She watches over our small children and cuddles with the new puppy!Such a misconception that pit bulls are mean. She is the sweetest nicest dog we gave ever known!

Went in looking for a cat. Staff seemed friendly enough I think the girl helping us was new which was fine. They kept saying they had so many cats because people keep dropping them off. So we applied to adopt. We were willing to wait knowing the cats we applied for still needed to be fixed. Never heard back, they never even called references. Not sure if it's a staffing issue or what but it would have been nice to at least get a call. We ended up going somewhere else and got a very sweet kitten right away.
