The staff has been nothing but patient, kind, and overall very flexible/informative with us. My sister, and I respect, and are grateful for everyone of the staff that take good care of not only the miraculous pets, but clients as well.The receptionists had no trouble accommodating us for a same day appointment, and are always willing to put up with my 2 braincells. The vet doctor we've had the pleasure of learning from is straight to the point, and never misses a beat.The orting animal hospital team is truly formidable, and blessed. Thank you, for everything, I hope all is still this well for myself, sister, and our pets in the future.

Start off with the good. This is a great crew. They usually recognize your dog, they know who you are when you call in, they're responsive, friendly, and a really fun group.But you better have pet insurance and/or a lot of money. They charge you for EVERYTHING. NOTHING comes free. And they hit hard. One of my older dogs needs dental work. I had a quote from Kent for like $1200. They want north of $3K for the same work. Just a basic checkup, with two shots, easily over $200. But hey, they're very professional, and you'll get top notch service.

Overall, the providers are competent and I trust them with my dogs. We drive over an hour round trip to receive care at Orting and we’ve spent well over $4,000 at this clinic this year for the care of our dogs.With that being said, we were 4 mins late to an appointment and we were told that we could not be seen because of it. The lobby was completely empty. We left 15 mins earlier than usual but traffic was really bad on a 1 lane road between Orting and Puyallup.They charged us $110 for being 4 mins late and they are not willing to refund us.I am extremely disappointed because I really trusted this clinic and the providers. I’m a nurse, so I understand the importance of being on time to an appointment and how it affects other patients down the line. But giving patients some grace is equally as important.I will also say that some of the staff are not very welcoming and I have at times been made to feel uncomfortable, which honestly as long as my dogs are getting the best care I can ignore it.I’m just incredibly disappointed and I’ll have to switch to a vet that is either closer or one that is more flexible.

Orting Animal Hospital has only been here for about a year. I recently decided to leave my vet because they no longer let you go in. It started with COVID but they have kept it that way, and I don't like that. So, a friend had been taking her cat here and loved it, so she referred it to me. I have been here twice now and I absolutely love the staff. I've never had to wait for my appointment time and have gotten in as soon as I arrived. I can't say much to the cost, because like everything lately nothing is cheap anymore. But I find it reasonable. And I use Care Credit so that's very helpful. The hospital is very clean and I feel my pet is in very good hands here. I highly recommend it.

Amazing care for my very anxious pup!!Vet n tech both got in the floor with him and spent time helping him be comfortable.Too many vets look at my giant pup who is super anxious and start with a muzzle, I understand that at times that is needful and I respect that but having someone TRY to work with him was amazing.Not super close to us and a tiny bit higher than I was paying but TOTALLY worth it for someone willing to work with my pup. I will be driving to orting animal hospital from now on

The Vet and tech took the time to explain every option for Bella to provide her the best quality of life. I think we just found the perfect place for Bella’s primary care. Thank you

Wait timeWe were told to arrive 5-10 minutes before our scheduled appointment, and once we got there the vet did not see us for about 35 minutes after our scheduled appointment. We ended up waiting a total of about 45 minutes total.EnvironmentThe office was very clean and professional. It felt just like a doctor’s office. I also like how they provided a TV for the animals!CommunicationI really like the amount of communication this office provides. They send you confirmation e-mails, information sheets and reminders before and after the appointment. Everything is incredibly easy to understand and it lets you know about health concerns to look out for! On top of that, since this was our first visit I was really impressed how they went out of their way to contact our previous vets and gather information about our cat.Vet EncounterThe vet was incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable. We really liked how she was able to answer all our questions and did a very good job examining our cat. We really liked how she went out of her way to wrap our cat up in her blanket and cover her face as they brought her into a different room for bloodwork to help her remain calm. You can tell she really cares about the animals. You can definitely feel safe with their vets and technicians.CostThis, and the wait time is what takes off a few stars for me. Right off the bat you must pay a $110 dollar deposit which goes towards your visit. It’s listed as an Exam – office visit on the bill, this is fine, but after the appointment you get charged quite a large fee for the actual exam, ours was an additional 250 dollars, excluding vaccinations and lab work. We do have a senior cat, so this may have affected the price, but $360 for a regular exam is quite a lot.Main IssueMy main issue with our visit is our cat has a tooth that is being reabsorbed and they told us she needed surgery to have it extracted. They said they could do this in addition to a tooth cleaning, and they had us schedule the surgery for the following Tuesday. Because if this we were told had to get blood work and urine work done to make sure it was safe for our cat to be put under anesthesia, and that it takes a few days to get the results so they could do it during the visit that day.A couple days later, the day before the surgery they called me to cancel the surgery. They said based on her heart condition that was in her file, her age, and they type of surgery they could not do the surgery and recommended we went to a specialist. They were really good about sending us a list of specialists to help us find one. However, this is something they could have told us before we spent $75 dollars on lab work. Since we have to wait a few months to actually get an appointment for surgery with the specialist, they will need to do the bloodwork all over again.The fact that this caused us to waste a lot of extra money on top of the hefty exam fee is my biggest reason for taking off points.

I've went here now twice. And let me tell you. The level of care just keeps on improving. I'm thankful beyond words how happy I am with the care my cat and I receive here. I feel the vet techs and the doctors sense my anxiety and nervousness here, and they're constantly reassuring and very helpful in not only keeping my cat calm, but me too. Absolutely love how they come into the room slow and calm, voices lowered, movements slow. They're Absolutely amazing. My first time was amazing which was a year ago, then today even better. Not only is the care top notch, but the facility is also amazing. Very clean and welcoming. The ladies at the desk are super nice, never a wait time in the front, always have been quick on getting us checked in and into a room. I would recommend this clinic for all your smaller domestic pet needs. Thank you so much for providing the pet community with such amazing services. Oh and one more thing... I have yet to really break the bank coming here. Granted never have I been here for something overly serious, all concerns have been pretty small and routine. But that alone allows me solace in knowing I can afford the routine visits and continue care for my kitty. ♡ Opie is very thankful.

I have taken both my dogs here several times. They are very compassionate and adaptable to what their comfort levels are, and take the time to help them adjust to tools like stethoscopes or fur clippers. They make sure both dogs feel like the goodest boys with treats and reassuring words! My one Red Heeler was recently attacked by another dog, so the vet shaved his face to get a better idea of the extent of the wounds, I appreciated that extra effort because you couldn’t hardly tell he had any cuts from looking or feeling his fur, his only symptoms were lethargy and a swollen neck. He’s on antibiotics and pain meds, and I can tell he’s healing (or HEELing lol) up nicely now.

My pup had Salmon Poisoning. The dr and staff were so very very kind. He is 4 days out on meds now and has turned the corner to being my pup again! He ate full meal this morning and was bouncing around with his hedgehog honking! Very thorough, very considerate, and highly recommend for emergencies. My vet was on on vacation. Thank you for saving my furbabie! Yes hes on a leash now and soft muzzle on order to stop him eating everything out on runs!

We had non stop issues with scheduling, communication etc. This was over a series of several appointments so it wasn’t just a fluke. Wait times are very long even with a scheduled appointment. Already paid deposit for spay for our girl kitty but after looking around realized they were VERY expensive comparatively. Don’t like leaving bad reviews but I was pretty shocked how bad my experience was. Only reason for 2 stars is I think overall the care for our cats was good .

I absolutely love this vet. They have been nothing but kind, gentle and understanding towards me and my pup. Getting a puppy is hard enough but knowing there are people out there who love and want my pup to succeed as much as I do makes me just so happy. I’ve also never seen a dog get excited to be at a vet.. but my dog knows he is going to be loved on and given treats so he loves it there!

I have brought my dog, Melon Ravioli, to Orting Animal Hospital for over a year. The staff there always greet us with warm smiles, showering Melon with affection and treats. I appreciate how well they take care of the animals. In case of emergencies or urgent situations, they even offer same-day appointments. What's great is that they never try to upsell any unnecessary services and are transparent about the available treatment options.For your reference, I have attached a photo of Melon.

When I brought my dog in the wait time was short and the doctor and her assistant were very compassionate and patient with my dog. She did a thorough exam and explained everything in detail and made sure she got the best treatment. I will definitely be bringing my dog back!

Dr Darcy was wonderful. She did everything she could to help save my kitty and in the end helped me come to the very sad decision to have her put to sleep. Everyone there was extremely professional and kind. I couldn’t recommend this animal hospital enough.

Had the first time appointment for my puppy. The care is very very good. We had brought our older cat there and they took great care of her giving her the appropriate medicine to get her better. (We had seen two other vets in an emergency, and she was still sick). We had decided that they were going to be our regular vet, from other pets going there as well. Personnel are great, from their interaction on phone calls to the appointment and the info they impart. They answered all of our questions, which there were a lot of them.

Floyd was taken care of for a yearly checkup and they were very patient and kind to him. He's kinda a scared cat. He hardly ever leaves the house so he gets freaked out. They did a wonderful job and even got me in quicker bc I showed up early. Thanks for your care team!!

I am new to this practice and I am so thankful I found these amazing people. They are the most friendly, most caring people and the care provided to my elderly Siamese cat is the best ever. Are they inexpensive? No, nut I have used many inexpensive veterinarians over the years and you get what you pay for. These folks are honest and top notch in the compassionate care that they provide. My old girl is still around today because of these wonderful people. Excellent communication and first-rate, evidence-based vetrinary care is not inexpensive, but to me, I want the best for my pets and Orting Animal Hospital provides the very best care.

We were looking for a second opinion regarding when to spay our Doberman and we chose Orting Animal Hospital… best decision ever! The staff is friendly and we were seen at the time scheduled. The veterinarian answered all of our questions and took the time with our Zoe to get to know her. We would definitely recommend this Animal Hospital!

I have 2 new puppy's 1 Keeshond and 1 mini dachshund both now 3mo.s old that I have taken in for their first and second visits to Orting Animal Hospital. They have been more generous with their time than any place that I have been in the past with other pets. Right upon entering the building, reception was instantly in love with my kitten and they made it so known. Everyone working was absolutely amazing and so sweet. They instantly welcomed my new kitten and I with open arms. It was my first time going to this vet and I’m def going to keep them as my kittens provider. I truly appreciate all of the staff taking such good care of her within that 30 min time frame of the appt. I really do recommend this vet to any family with a fur baby.

Our family recently adopted 2 new kittens and one ended up being quite sick. Took him (BeeMo) to the new Orting Animal Hospital and their staff was so kind and understanding. So grateful for Orting Animal Hospital, and Dr Bart Iaia in particular. I love his bedside manner - he sits on the ground with your pet, engages with the animal fully, and is totally willing to give all of his time and attention to the issue at hand. He spent nearly an hour with me and my puppy dealing with diarrhea. Rather than just throwing meds at us or making assumptions, we talked through everything and he walked me through the multiple options and his feelings about each one. Honestly, so so grateful! Everyone was super friendly and best of all they were able to see my baby same day - something my current vet can NEVER do. We are now considering moving all of our pets to Orting Animal Hospital as their hours and availability seem to reflect they are more concerned about animal care than Firgrove veterinary hospital - who never has any availability for urgent care or Saturday hours.
