A local gem.My husband and I were considering getting a tarantula. We walked in not knowing a whole lot about spiders and walked out with a stunning tarantula and everything we needed.DJ is very friendly and knowledgeable. He helped us pick the type of tarantula that was best for us, making several great recommendations. The tarantulas DJ recommended to us were all under $75, which was a massive green flag to me because there were $200-$300 tarantulas there as well. Instead of trying to sell us the most expensive animal, DJ ensured that we were getting the right animal for us, showing that Pet Works truly cares about the animals and pet owners more than profitability.Another gentlemen also helped us pick out some supplies for our spider and although we did not get his name, he was excellent and knowledgable as well.If you are looking for a tarantula, this is the place for. With a wide selection of spiders and knowledgeable staff members, you can’t go wrong with this place.

Love going here especially for fish and aquatic plants. They have a wide selection of healthy fish and other pets as well.I LOVE that they don’t keep their betas in tiny cups like most pet stores, they each get their own little tank. I will always get my betas here. It seems like the animals here are well cared for and the staff are generally knowledgeable. I have a lot of success with the plants too.They are a bit more expensive than chain stores but definitely worth it.The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is because most of the guys working in the fish section are not very helpful or friendly. They usually seem annoyed when I ask for help even if I only need a couple of fish.But overall great store.

Amazing experience with Tyler! He knows his stuff! We just got a new Axolotl and had a few questions. He not only answered them but told me so much more. He's super educated on aquatics and obviously loves his job. Highly recommend this store!

I have recently taken up the hobby of fish keeping. I'm still relatively new to it all but was ready to add some new fish to my fresh water aquarium.I was immediately impressed with the selection of fish Pet works had as well as the cleanliness of their tanks.Dustin was extremely knowledgeable in all and anything to do with fish. He was very patient answering my questions and was able to steer to me to a few different types of fish that would be a great addition to my existing tank.He also gave me pointers on how to more efficiently clean my tank.I will definitely be back and will make sure Dustin is working when I do!!

I like this pet store, my only issue is with the guys working in the fish section. I've been there numerous times, but 3 times recently for fish & shrimp. Each time, there have been multiple guys sitting there talking or on their laptop, and they don't acknowledge anyone coming back there at all.I'm sure there's a lot of people who go over there just to look, but anytime I've needed help with something, I have to go over there and interrupt them and ask if I can get some help. They will not say hello, or ask if you need help. Today I had to wait around for 15 minutes before I could get someone to get me a few fish and a couple shrimp. It's incredibly frustrating.I like this shop, and I want to continue to support them, but if it continues to be like this every time I go, I might have to go somewhere else. As someone who has worked customer service for a very long time, it's so important to at least just acknowledge customers. I'd much rather spend my money with a small business over a corporation, but not if I feel like nobody cares I'm even there.

If you have fish you need to go. This store is huge and curated amazingly. It is so detailed w species I only thought I could buy online. It's Inspiring and the MTS will be greatly aggravated so beware. The employees are a lot of young people like me who are passionate about fish and plants. Here's some pics for reference.

This review had nothing to do with the staff. They were lovely and responsive.So, my beef is overall with whomever designed and outfitted the bathing area.Aesthetic: 10/10. It’s sleek and the chosen palette suits the store. I feel like it’s going for a ‘narrow is better’ approach to effectively filled the space with a decent amount of tubs. The signs labeled what to do and what shampoo does what.Tubs: 4/ 10 Drainage system is amazing. The tubs are a lovely height to where you don’t bend over. The hookup to the leads make absolutely no sense - like it’s meant to tether dogs of meager height to the tub floor. Good luck with tall and large breeds. At least it’s designed in a way where dogs can’t haphazardly flip themselves around. Beyond that the setting to the spray nozzle is great - it’s just the simple act of turning it on hurt my fingers to an annoying degree. And with my fellow pet parents so close, the risk of accidentally spraying them is high.Drying Area: legit the worst layout for a drying area I’ve ever seen in my life. And this is coming from a dog groomer who goes to self-washes on occasion. There’s a lot of excess movement required here with dogs from entirely separate households being tethered close. If your dog is even mildly reactive you’re not going to have fun. At all. The stairs are an okay touch but I had to shuffle from one end to another to accommodate the next person coming in with the intention of drying their dog. It’s not the safest design and looks like it was an entirely aesthetic choice.Equipment: the items use to tether your dogs is fine. But - please - get better dryers. I legit have Amazon bought dryers that are better than the blatantly cheap, compact barely their air that you offer. It took me an age to even dry a tiny portion of my dog before I just threw my hands up and gave up. Mind you, I have a Standard Poodle in a continental - and I need to dry him all the way otherwise there’s a chance of matting that comes with air drying due to him going through a coat change. I’d have been there for HOURS just to get him to a decent state. I had to put him in my car soaking wet and drive somewhere that offered better tools. Which, admittedly, left me fuming during the drive because I had to make my way to Lakewood when I wanted to enjoy a walk in the town with my dog.I couldn’t even justify asking for a refund. Because I should have asked about the equipment prior. And the sign explicitly implies that getting your dog mostly dry is the goal - not all the way dry. Not the store’s fault my reading comprehension can be garbage.Overall: if you have a short-haired dog this place is fine. Bringing home a damp dog isn’t the end of the world. But anything even moderately high maintenance should save their fifteen bucks or just fish out the cash to pay the groomer there for a good service. Will be coming back to enjoy the rest of everything else - but never touching the self-wash again. Ever.

I have never seen a pet shop as bad as this one. I used to run an exotics pet store. They do not carry feeders for larger reptiles, you have to be put on an order list for rat pups! How can you sell animals that need this size meal if you don't even carry the feeders for them! I also am an exotics Animal Nurse for 30 years. This place is a joke. They also never have anyone to help in the fish department, you have to go look for someone to assist you!

This is a good store with very helpful and animal friendly staff. Anything you could need for a pet is here. We love using the self-service dog washing stalls with leashes, rubber bibs and 6 types of shampoos to scrub our pup with a drying station. The staff nail trim service for only an extra $5 makes the worst part of grooming our dog easy. Highly recommend.

Their prices are good, they have excellent products and their staff are fun and helpful. Their groomer, Marissa, is the best, especially for wiggly standard poodle pups. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

Something has changed for the worse. Loud bass heavy music around all their aquariums, tons of dead fish, some just spines remaining. This place used to have an incredible aquatic section with workers who were knowledgeable and passionate about the hobby. It is very apparent they have lost their pride and passion. It really is sad to see the steady decline. I don't know enough about reptiles or birds to speak much about their care, but I don't think they appreciate the super loud music either. I would embarrassed to be an ployees here based on the environment there now.

Its cool.you can get all types of reptiles and other types of animals and fish and bugs lizards and tranchlias there and they sell t5 lights could be making a special difference for their lives at all times and I know if they are not exactly what I want to buy.

The customer service was pretty lackluster to say the least. My wife and I show up an hour before close with our 2 dogs and the 2 young ladies informed us that we had a time limit of 15 minutes for both dogs. If Im ignorant to some store policy then well that should be clearly illustrated. Chewy will get our dogfood and toy business while I now possess any grooming tools needed. Thanks for absolutely nothing.

Drove 1.5 hours to this store because we heard great things. Glad we made the trip we had a 55gallon petco fish tank break and we wanted to make the investment into a high quality tank. Our friend told us of this store and you can tell right away they actually care about their fish and animals from the detail and cleanliness of their fish tanks. The staff was extremely helpful as well and helped us purchase a high quality UNS tank and canister system. Now is the pride of our home.

Cool place and HUGE. They have self serve pet washing stations, fish, frogs, etc and a large supply of dog/cat stuff. I picked up a freeze dried fish skin and stuffed toy for my Corgi and she loves them both.

Wow! I was amazed by this pet store! Local business that brings Petsmart and Petco to shame. They have everything and more that you could possibly need. Their aquarium fish selection is beyond belief. They have many exotic creatures to see and choose from. All the supplies a reptile lover would ever need. I'm beyond impressed and will never go anywhere else.

We came here to get started on our new aquarium and were not disappointed. Tyler is very knowledgeable and helped us resolve some issues with our startup up as well as gave us a lot of information on the different types of fish we were looking at. We were able to purchase plants that have been healthy and thrived in our tanks and the fish we purchased have been healthy and adjusted easily to their new tanks. They also genuinely care about the fish in their care and do free water tests to ensure your tank is safe for its inhabitants. In regards to the rest of the store they seem to have a wonderful selection of different items for all types of pets. The birds and rodents seem content and well taken care of and they have wonderful grooming stations for dogs which I believe anyone can use. We will definitely be coming here often.

We had a wonderful experience here for the first time. We will definitely be back. Our dog enjoyed his bath and started to relax and enjoy his scrub down and massage. I really liked that my son and I were able to give our pooch a bath. Self service wash and they offer brushes, leasing to keep the pet in the tub, several different types of shampoos and a conditioner. Our dog smells good and he is super shiny. His coat of fur is soft to the touch. They have so many different stuff to offer and they also have grooming services. We got a organic pig 🐽 nose it even had hairs on it. Our dog enjoyed his treat and was a good boy. Definitely a place to bring your pet and also have them socialize with other pets. They also offer to join their group and after so many baths you will get one free bath for your pet.

I come here frequently everybody is very friendly and knowledgeable. Customer service is always great. I use the self dog wash for all of my dogs the shampoos are always kept full. It is good quality shampoo and the towels are always in a good condition the sanitation of the tub area is always kept up I have never been disappointed with the cleanliness of the store.They have a large selection a pet supplies, comparable to what is available in commercial stores.
