The gentleman that assisted me with the last Mexican red leg tarantula was very helpful, as well as the taller blond girl that is typically my cashier is always very kind and helpful. It’s unfortunate to see how they keep the tarantulas, especially the terrestrial ones but It is what it is.

I love Petco in west side Olympia I know exactly where everything is and everything is a fair price there. I have a Shih Tzu who is almost 2 years old. I go there to get his dog food it’s the only store I know that carries royal canine and he loves the sweet potato dog treats 100% all natural good for him.

decently sized and very clean store! staff is bright and helpful, helped me find a specific product type quickly and pleasantly. prices aren't too bad, I bought cat food and treats and it's nice to get higher quality/healthier stuff for a fair price. I recommend the 1 ingredient freeze dried cat and dog treats, my kitty LOVES them! despite the registers being fairly busy on a Saturday, I didn't wait long at all and the cashier was very nice and efficient. overall I felt welcome and was satisfied about getting what I needed:)

About 5 years ago we began shopping at petco religiously. We have 2 adult bearded dragons from covington petco and had multiple glow fish for awhile. About 6 mths ago we bought a bearded dragon from the black lake petco. We already were close to being done with this store because of constantly being overcharged. I can't believe it's taken this long for us to boycott petco & petsmart. We should've been done after reading the article about their supplier reptiles for mack. Which I urge anyone reading this to Google that, if you haven't already. You see I've read 100s of articles about ppl buying beardies from these stores and having horrible experiences, but our 2 adults are healthy. Our 3rd wasn't so lucky, she passed away a few days ago and our little family of 3 my husband, daughter, and I have been traumatized from this and have been crying for a week now when we realized how bad it was and we had to just make her comfortable. She was the sweetest beardie/pet I've ever met and in these last 6 mths she became family. Although you wouldn't of guessed she was more then a cpl mths old. She was tiny and dying from before we brought her home. My husband and I were wondering what they do with beardies that get too old to sell. She was the last in her tank and definitely the oldest beardie they had, she was dying from the sand. We knew she might not make it longer then a few days, but once we got her home within a few days she was happy and seemed healthy. We bonded quick, within a couple months she was lethargic, we tried everything to get her healthy again and we are experienced beardie owners, even using our emergency beardie kit. She would start to appear like she was getting better, but we couldn't afford a vet, being we had just moved and can barely cover rent at the time being. A week ago I started a go fund me to try to get enough money to take her in, she was paralyzed. She started developing blackish spots, and we were desperate to help her, so we felt so helpless in between pay checks. There was a point we wondered if we were holding a dead beardie, but we could still see her breathing and eye movement, although she couldn't open them all the way. We literally tried everything and near the end she almost lifted her head, she was rotting though and she took her last breath 2 days ago. I believe petco's lack of care and choosing to use mack as their supplier is responsible for this. I believe she had a birth defect, but we are just grateful she got to have a little bit of a good life with a family who loved her. RIP Bizzy there is a hole in my heart that won't ever be filled. Never again petco!

The facility is clean and well maintained. During our time at the Petco we noticed they had a lot of products such as food, leashes, medicines, toys, beds, bath room supplies, and so forth. In the center of the store they have a "Dog Training Park" and on the sides they divided the store into sections such as the Adoption Center, Aquatics, Petco Zoo (Bunnies, Hamsters, Birds), Home Furnishings, Cat Market, JustFoodForDogs, and Grooming/Vet Clinic. They do have restrooms and they are private/individual rooms. You are also allowed to bring your pets into the store. Overall, I give the store 5 out of 5 stars.

I needed help accessing my ap on my phone...because I am tech challenged. The associate wasn't sure at first but he calmly had some customers wait, called another cashier and phoned support to take care of my problem. An excellent exchange! Thank you!

We adopted a wild baby mouse that fell out of our neighbor's rig. It's eyes were still closed and no momma around. The staff at Petco were super helpful and answered all our question on what and how to feed her and general care. They warned us not to get too attached because the likelihood of survival was slim. After round the clock feeding with a paintbrush, she opened her eyes and started gaining weight. 5 months later she's still alive and thriving. She has two "sisters" we bought at Petco. Thanks to the staff for all the time and patience you showed. Couldn't have raised our little girl without you!!

The care animals receive here is sad. Pretty much all of their bettas had severe bloat from over-feeding, sky high ammonia, fin rot, swim bladder damage, etc. Do better Petco. These are living creatures, they’re not disposable.

The cat food I ordered came in a timely way and on good shape. You only get 4 stars because of the plastic bubble filler in the box. A smaller box would have been fine and if it needed any filler paper would be far better. Please stop with the plastic!

Even though this is part of a big box Enterprise The grooming salon always seems personal and they remember my dog and remember how to groom her. They usually do something special like a ribbon or a bow. They accommodate leaving her doggie gear there while they are grooming instead of making me take it with me. Definitely would recommend Matthew.

This was my girls first trip to Petco & my first time at this Olympia location. We all had a great time. Everyone was so helpful & friendly. The girls loved all the attention. I was looking for slow feeder bowls & found a really great one. We also needed pee pads, found a really great selection. Got pretty name tags & of course you can't go to the store & not take home a new toy for each one. They had such a fun time they slept all the way home.

I only shop here for fish supplies (I shop local for all my other supplies.) Their fish dept staff is great, specially a gentleman named Sa. He helped me determine which fish would be compatible with my fish at home and helped me select fish for a new aquarium. He was very knowledgeable and funny, despite it being a delivery day and him having a lot to do. If you need fish or aquarium suppliers then he is the guy you should talk to!

Love this Petco. Even though it was late, and staff was most certainly tired, when it was time to feed the fish, the young man didn't mind me following him around and asking so many questions. The animals where so happy, playing, running around in their enclosures! The fish are so beautiful, so many colors! All very beautiful and healthy. The lizards were great, such a great variety. The bunch of snakes where all peeking their heads at me. I normally am NOT attracted to snakes, but these had smiles. Wish I would had taken pictures of them.

The cages, fish tanks and the store was SO CLEAN!!! It was nice to see this for once!!! The last time I had been there (pre covid 19) it was disgusting and the pets in their cages/tanks were the ones who suffered from it! The gal who assisted me on the floor was super and the cashier who helped me was super too!!!

Great selection of fish and pet supplies. I stopped by to see what their selection of fish was compared to Pet's Mart, have to say much better right down to the plants as well. I also get my dog treats here when I'm not going to the farmers market. Best selection for fish and plants over Pet's Mart

Always have a great experience at this location. The staff is very helpful. The curbside pickup is sooooo nice after a long day with grumpy kiddos. Nice not to have to lug a huge bag of dog food while trying to keep up with my little ones.

I bought a large item which was heavy, but mostly awkward to get your arms around the box and it didn’t fit in a cart. There was an employee that went out of her way to help me and she got it into my car today 1–2–2024 and it was pouring rain. Thank you for being so helpful. Above and beyond!!!!!!

I buy salt water fish and supplies, the older guy that works at olympia store, is not friendly, and is pretty rough with the fish and anenomies,The selection of fish is terrible in the store, I look at the website before going and the website is not correct on the available fish in store , plus have had many fish and anenomies die due to his rough treatment. The only reason I go to olympia store is they use to have a bigger selection of fish , I travel 60 miles one-way, im very disappointed
