What an amazing toy store right in the heart of downtown Olympia! I was so impressed with the range and quality of toys!!! Highly recommend and I will be back for sure!Always can find fun things for your kids you can't find anywhere else.

Walking into Captain Little, I had to stop and take a breath. There’s a feeling that came over me, one familiar and emotional. Took a while to figure out the gentleness of it all. Soft things to hold, gentle structures to engage the mind, I was taken back to my childhood, and to toy shops in Europe, where, I don’t know, maybe they are allowed to age gently through childhood. The looks on the kids faces, of joy and surprise as they saw something new, without harsh violent toys to stir them up, was enough to say, go, take the kids, and your inner kid, and enjoy

After exploring this store for about 10 minutes my son declared "This is the coolest store I've ever seen!" which is about as great an endorsement as one could hope for from a kid under 10. As others have said, this place oozes creativity and nostalgia, a wonderfully curated mix of classic toys and newer inventions; all focused on entertaining folk's imaginations and sense of wonder. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, without being pushy or annoying. They also provide excellent gift wrap services which is hard to find these days. Can't wait to find more excuses to go back and support this local business!

Hands down the best toy store I’ve been to. You can find gifts for all ages. Heck I have found things that I want to buy for myself as an adult. Everything is organized and easy to find. The staff is like the toy store version of Dutch Bros. Super friendly and helpful.

05/13/23: As an adult, sometimes I love coming to a kid’s store to get back a sense of my lovely childhood. During my short time visit from Seattle to Olympia, I fell in love with all the beautiful and adorable toys at this store. Staffs are cordial and polite. I wish my parents could have bought my toys from this store when I was a child. Highly recommend all parents who want to buy kid’s toys come to this amazing store

Hands down the most incredible, diverse, and thoughtful selection of toys and gifts for young loved ones. I got some amazing books for my 6 y/o niece and was really happy with the selection. The staff are lovely and extremely helpful.

Two feminine presenting people came up to me when I tried to trade Sonny’s accusing me of bringing a fake one the previous visit. It’s great they’re trying to prevent people bringing fake ones but even when I allowed them to inspect the Sonny’s I had and I apologized and told them I didn’t know they still made me feel really horrible and saying “we’re not trying to make you feel bad” didn’t help. It broke my heart because I’d been coming here since I was a kid. I won’t visit again but it is a cute store!

Seriously the best toy store ever. My last visit I saw so many cool fidgets, the cutest softest stuffed pig, and other cute plushies, awesome games to help littles learn to identify their emotions, so many picture books with beautiful illustrations, waterman ukuleles and a cool Kala concert ukulele with some kind of amazing glitter shellac!!! There are cute stationary sets and art supplies, puzzles, board games, and dress-up clothes. Most importantly, tiny cats...for my fingers. I am a 37 year old mother of three and I bought them for MYSELF!

I love this store. I don't know anyone who likes to shop in kids stores as an adult, I love stuffed animals and they usually have the recent jellycat and douglas products. It's an inviting little shop with loads to see old and new, my friend said it's the most varied toy store she's ever seen!

Went there looking for an adult coloring book. They had so many choices. Also, many different types of coloring markers, pens, and pencils. Really helpful and friendly staff. The toys were absolutely adorable. If you are in need of puzzles, this is the place to go! I really love this place! They even gift wrapped my gifts.

Love the variety of toys, clerk leaves something to be desired. Clerk asked if we needed help and I asked where robotics were. After circling 6 displays my 4 yr old beat her to it. After that we were making his birthday shopping list when when she said "just so you know we close in 2 minutes". I pointed out the painted on their window it says 7pm & not 6pm. She says "it shouldn't be. That's wrong". How the hell do we know your public window posted hours are wrong & shouldn't be 7!?!? I really want to support small biz but with employees like her no wonder some places struggle. Would've 1 starred but she doesn't represent the store imo and the other clerks tend to be very kind & knowledgable.

I was desperate to find a cute, cruelty-free, baby-safe teething rattle for a sensory project for some of the kids I worked with as a thank you gift. I did some sleuthing and found Captain Little in the heart of downtown Olympia. A huge selection of baby and little kid toys, books, clothings, etc. Thankfully I found a high quality teething rattle that the kids I worked with would enjoy. The employee was very friendly during checkout and made me feel appreciated as a customer.

Super cute store and lots of variety, with complimentary gift wrapping. I was so excited to be shopping there for the first time. All sorts of cute little toys, expensive, but cute and some really unique! Unfortunately this will most definitely be my last time shopping here after the encounter with the sales associate. She was friendly, but after I politely asked if they provided a military discount, she rolled her eyes, looked away and said, “No” with an almost sigh at the end. I felt super awkward and uncomfortable until I finished paying.

Even though I'm not a kid, nor do I know any kids, this is one of my favorite places to visit in downtown! There are so many stim toys that are perfect for neurodivergent folks of all ages, from shashibo cubes, to squishy stress ball-esque toys, to visual stim aids like lava lamps. Not to mention, a lovely sticker brand called Pipstickers! There really is something for everyone here, and I only wish that I had access to a place like this as a child.

Captain little has an A-MAZ-ING selection of baby toys, board books, adorable stuffed animals,engaging and high quality toys, stem activities and much more. They also offer gift wrapping, not the bag pictured but real wrapping paper. The staff is helpful and informative.

Every time I go there, I buy something. They have games for all ages, toys, and other items to educate and entertain kids of all ages. I like their selection of science items especially. The staff is courteous and friendly. They also do gift wrapping which is great because I just bought a birthday present for my 8 year old grandson.I just can't recommend this place enough. My only wish would be the ability to shop them online and have their products shipped to me. But, that does not dampen my love for them!!!

This is the most adorable toy store! They have the sweetest toys and they are all amazing quality. They've also made it a really safe environment with covid precautions - I felt totally safe the whole time I was there. Its the perfect place to drop off letters to Santa and do your gift shopping!

I love love love this store.. I can’t get over how much I love everything they carry. I buy Shel Silverstein books for my nephew every year and I was on the hunt for one there. I have gotten a few through the years but this time, they didn’t have any in stock and no time frame for more to come in. Low and behold, the sales associate (I’m sorry I didn’t get your name!) called the bookstore down the street and reserved a copy of the exact SS book I was looking for. She is fantastic and I would really appreciate if she got some recognition for being so fantastic. I was already a huge fan of this place, but wow, I appreciate everything and will definitely be back again.

I needed a gift for my nephew's first birthday. All of the stores are closed right now but I found out that Captain Little was offering personal shopping services and pick up. I contacted Captain little through my instagram account and they helped me pick out the perfect gift for my nephew. All of the items they suggested were so cute, it was hard to pick :-) They even offered to wrap the gift for me. I was so impressed with their service and checkout was easy. They offered to have it ready for safe pick up at the front door of their store. I will definitely be shopping with them again.
