A Severe Lack of Professionalism and Courtesy Mars Pet Store ExperienceMy recent encounter with this local pet store was marked by unprofessional behavior and a disconcerting lack of courtesy. I initially contacted the store to schedule a grooming appointment for my dog, which included both a bath and a haircut. However, the situation quickly turned sour when the manager inaccurately insisted, "He said bath only."The manager's tone insinuated that I had been dishonest about my dog's grooming needs, which was far from the truth, and I don’t even know why I would lie about something like that. The manager, an elderly lady who I was informed had hearing difficulties, had initially taken my call. When she struggled to hear me amidst the store's ambient noise, she yelled at her staff, "I can't hear him, keep it down," and then asked me to hold the line.Subsequently, another staff member took over the call and continued with the booking. However, when I corrected their assumption that I had requested a bath-only service, this second staff member also adopted an antagonistic tone, implying that I had disrespected the "70-year-old owner with hearing aids."The hostility escalated to a point where I felt it best to seek out a different pet store. In response, the staff member became even ruder. I do empathize with the challenges that come with customer service, but there was a distinct lack of professional tact in handling a simple miscommunication. If you resort to accusatory behavior instead of acknowledging a misunderstanding, I must question whether customer service is a suitable field for you.In conclusion, I was left with a bad impression of the store and a firm resolution not to return unless the customer service improves significantly.

The groomers are experts at their profession and they take exceptionally good care of the dogs entrusted to them for grooming. It is clear that they love the dogs they groom and they know how to make them look and feel their best. I have taken my dogs there for years and have never been disappointed. These are people you can trust.

Wonderful service everytime. Brandon was my groomer this time and I found the work flawless. My dog always comes back happy and is excited everytime we walk up to the salon. Also carry the healthiest dry food available at a great price.

I wish I had read the reviews before scheduling an appointment. The prior 1-star reviews of this business are absolutely accurate. Is scheduling hard? Yes. If you cat isn't a prior customer, you won't get an appointment. Is the lady that manages the front desk rude? Absolutely, and unnecessarily so. Did we arrive on time for our appointment? Yes. Did our cat get groomed? No. 3 hours after our 10am appointment, she still hadn't started grooming our extremely docile cat, and they couldn't tell me when she would be done. During that 3 hour time, I went for a walk around the neighborhood, only to return to my car to find a nasty note from the business stating that I was not to park in their parking lot and that they had my license plate number and that if I did it again they would have my car towed. This parking "rule" is not posted anywhere in the parking lot, and we were never informed by the business that we could not park our car in their parking lot while our cat was begin groomed by them. In the end, our cat never did get groomed. I just took her home, ratty fur an all.

They are absolutely so rude! I will never take my dogs there again, and I refuse to tell anyone that they are a decent place. They are not. On multiple occasions they were rude and poorly handled my dogs. The last and final time I took my dog they kept my dog for over 8 hours and it was past closing time then when I showed up because I had called twice and had a very rude lady say they "just weren't done and we said we will call you" they slammed the door to where my dog was. Left us sitting in their waiting room for 15 minutes before the owner/manager, whomever she is came out to tell us how busy she is and it's normal for them to keep dogs that late. Meanwhile, the one in the back with my dog whom we can hear quite well slammed a kennel door, popped her head out and said "I just can't! I can't work with her anymore because they showed up" I was very appalled by their words, actions and manners. I stated I wanted my dog, we payed and they still asked "no tip?"Yeah right..I am so very very thankful I no longer will ever go back and I now found my forever groomer elsewhere locally!Very POOR job Capital City Grooming!

Our corgi goes in for her nail trimming. They are so great, as my dog wont hold still, for me to do it. We've also got her groomed there a few times. Never a disappointment in the quality of service or care of the loved fur babies. Highly recommend this groomer!!!

The grooming itself is not bad. However, every single time I have called, the woman on the phone is rude and inconvenienced. I was a customer there for almost three years and it never got better.Their appointment system is pointless. I dropped my dog off at the scheduled time and never once could they give an estimate about when she would be finished. On average, she would be there for 5 hours. At its worst, it took them over 7 hour and 3 of my phone calls later to finish. I just personally have not had that experience at previous groomers.On top of all that, everything online says they close at 6, but they now close at 5. The rude woman at the front desk waited until 4:35 to call and tell me they close at 5pm. Needless to say, I am no longer a customer.

What people say about this business is true. The grooming is good, but the lady at the front desk is terribly rude. I called to schedule an appt and she told me that they are not taking new customers. We are not a new customer, but she couldn't find our name in the system. She was so rude and she was disgustingly chewing the whole time which was gross. She said we were 'new' and couldn't come back, so we won't. You can get better customer service elsewhere, I promise.

10/10 would not recommend. Poor customer service, every time I tried to call the front desk the lady was completely rude. I would ask an estimate of when my cat would be done and she would give me one answer and it was “I don’t know”. My cat had a 12:00 appointment and wasn’t done until 5 pm. There’s no reason it should take 5 hours for my cat to get groomed. And they did the opposite of what I wanted for my cat. I wanted her belly trimmed because she is long haired and they completely shaved her stomach. I’m so disappointed. Never again will I take my cat there.

I called to make an appointment for my dog ​​and the lady has trouble hearing and I hit on saying that she doesn't understand my language, the truth is they need professional people to speak with kindness, because the clientele is going to leave her, due to her behavior towards others. My cat was not cooperative and a real pain in the butt but they were still kind/professional while taking care of him. We missed the phone call, accidentally inconvenience them, and they still held onto professionalism. They were going to take $20 off because they weren’t able to finish some of his grooming but we gave them the full price because of how amazing they were today. Thank you so much and I’m so sorry he was a pain.

My brother and I were passing through Olympia, we pulled off to let our dogs run around at Capital Lake. My brothers dog decided to hop into the lake and ended up covered in smelly lake water and algae. We were recommended by the pet hospital to go get him bathed ASAP so he didn’t lick off any lingering algae. Since we were just passing through and had somewhere to be, I called around to several groomers to see if anyone could get us in right then for a bath. Capital City Grooming were able to get us in and out in 20 minutes and we were back on the road! Thank you all so much, we really appreciate it!

One star only because zero isn't an option. We took our German Shepherd here for grooming (trim, shampoo, brush out, and nail grinding) after a camping trip. Unfortunately, we just picked up our dog and he was just shampooed and somewhat dried. He has a quarter sized chunk of fur missing from his tail (and for GSDs, their tail is one of their most majestic features). His nails are uneven. He's shedding like crazy, which leads us to believe he was barely touched. The staff was offensive and insisted we take a number for an obedience trainer because he was "unruly." He's a 95 pound puppy, so he's clumsy and the space is very cramped and tight. They insisted that he was baring his teeth which is hard to believe because we have invested countless hours and money into training him well. We were lectured on how to "properly" treat train him, as if we have no clue. They were pulling on his leash really harshly as they took him back, which should have been our first warning sign. There's no clear sign that there is a spot for the dogs to go potty and he was very distressed as he was turned back over to us. Overall, I'm offended at their "customer service" and accusations that I haven't properly trained my dog. They never called during his grooming appointment to say that he was having a hard time and they knew he was a larger breed upon taking the appointment. I'm pretty upset that we just spent money that likely won't get refunded if I were to contact them. Our dog has never been skittish or upset, but he is obviously very upset after his appointment here. We will never be back.

Carol is awesome! Sherman, our Standard Poodle, received a wonderful cut! His old groomer closed shop and he was WAY overdue and matted. So it was decided he needed get shaved and start over with hair growth. Carol took her time with him; no nicks, no cuts - hair is all even & smooth. Sherm seems to feel much better; no more itching from the knots pulling on his skin. Generally Sherman is timid and skittish with new people and new places, however he was surprisingly calm and didn't hesitate for a second to let Carol pet or touch him. We're looking forward to his next visit.

First time my dog been at any place for a grooming. I know that he gave them a hand full. The bathing part and nails are very hard for me to do. .. But I was glad to see the outcome. Well go back

I took my long hair cat to get groomed here a little trim and a bath this place was recommended to me by a co-worker since it is really close to my work. They had my cat for 7 hours I called every hour after a certain point because I was growing nervous that maybe she wasnt cooperating. When I called the last time she told me she was finished. I went to pick her up it was very informal she was already in her carrier that I brought with me not great customer service on their end but whatever. I get home and take her out and was mortified.She looked chopped up it was so uneven at places and then worse of all she had a cut on her mouth. Look I understand that mistakes happen and I even understand that shes a cat and was probably afraid of the trimmers but tell me what happened dont let me just find out on my own. I will never go here again and I dont recommend anyone else to either.And ontop of that she peed herself in her carrier which made herself stink like urine after I just spent $60 on getting her bathed. I have no idea how long they kept her in there until I called but you cant expect any animal to hold their urine for 7 hours.

My 2 Goldens have been groomed here and they have come home smelling good and looking lovely. We have a horse farm and both love to roll in the horse poop. I am quite happy with the money spent and the service provided.
