We had been looking to purchase a hunting dog for a while and after some not so positive experiences elsewhere, we found Buck Mountain. They were friendly, knowledgeable and Washington local. In December 2019 we purchased a female black lab. She has not only been a great addition to our family, but has already shown a great amount of skill and natural hunting ability. At 6 months old she can heel, retrieve to hand, is gun broke, and potty trained. She has been through real life hunting scenario training. She is proving herself to be a once in a lifetime dog. I would highly recommend looking into Buck Mountain Labs if you are in the market. We would definitely purchase a dog from them again!

We met a lab puppy from Buck Mountain and thought this pup was the best pup we’d ever seen. So, we watched for the next litter, bought a puppy, he is 9 months old and the best dog ever! These aren’t just breeders. The dogs being bred are treated as family, they play with the kids, they hunt with the owners, they pick apples from the trees. The dogs are beautiful and have great blood lines. I recommend Buck Mountain to everyone I know. And we are ready for another Buck Mountain Lab ourselves.

Unfortunately the dogs and facilities were not what I expected. The website is not very up to date so it’s difficult to see current pics of the dogs. So I drove 8 hours to view moms and facilities. After days and weeks of time passing between their correspondence to my requests for visit and up to date pictures, when we finally arrived the facilities were sub par! Especially when compared to the website photos!! The silver moms have pretty long coats and longer muzzles more like American Labrador and not English, which is what I was told they were. I was never given the paperwork I asked to see to make sure they were all certified from hip dysplasia and all the usual necessary certifications. By the time the breeders realized one of the mommas was pregnant she was already due in a couple weeks or less and the same happened with 2 other moms who were supposed to be taking a break and skipping a heat. So it didn’t seem like they monitored the heats and breeding which felt irresponsible to me. They made a written agreement with me before I made a deposit that they would refund my deposit if I toured the facility and determined it wasn’t the best fit for me, however they refused to return my $400 deposit to me when I toured and decided it wasn’t a good fit, so that was dishonest and bad business. But wait, they lied again. They also claimed that they kept my money because they lost business turning people away because I had a deposit down which is a blatant lie since the website just now says taking deposits for first 15 people for spring litter. I suggest you tour facilities and meet dogs before making a deposit! This is not the kind of breeder I want my new fur baby from!

Buck mountain labs not only produces the most beautiful dogs. But the genetics and bloodlines are amazing. The dog I got from them is everything I could ask for and more. He is a machine when it comes to working. And a great family dog when it comes to home life.If I had to chose just one dog. It would not only be a lab. It would be a buck mountain lab.
