The best thing besides a very modern store with a very friendly staff is the gasoline prices. Today regular is $3.89 a gallon. In Loon Lake, it is 4.29 a gallon. Due to the very close state line of Idaho they are allowed to sell fuel at comparable prices to remain competitive.

As an EBT user, this store is an absolute hellscape, mainly due to the absent customer service.$.08 charge for bags, waiver is selective by the cashier. Paying by EBT should automatically waive the bag fee. Not so, as today my cashier held up my $241 food order over $.28. Luckily my partners boss walked in and saw what was happening. He thought the bag fee was ridiculous, especially holding up a poor person. How embarrassing yo hold up all the customers behind me as well. My partner shopped there just last night and had the bag fee waived. What was different about today?Weeks ago all I had was a $10 produce coupon, so I picked out some produce to get us through. Cabbage, potatoes, onions. Since it was after 9pm I was told my coupon wasn't an option due to there only being self check-out as the only checker option (which is problematic to say the very least.). I had to walk away from my food right there, only to be informed the next morning when I called that the cashier was just too lazy to call someone to ring me up at an actual cashier station.If you're poor, and the employees know that for a fact, realize that you will not be treated like a human and instead you will be treated like absolute garbage. Never have i gotten reliable help or kindness from any employee here below a manager.Update: a day after the incident with the bags, my partner was denied access to use a produce coupon to purchase.....produce. then, while she was leaving, she experienced target prejudiced words by yet another different employee.We haven't heard anything from management. At this point we are going to assume we were being targeted by employees/management who were looking for any way to rid us from their customer base.We've deleted our app, and thrown away multiple produce "coupons" (valued $10 each) because it's impossible to follow their ever changing rules and denials for help or assistance. Safeway, you've lost and entire family of life-long customers.

Absolute laziness! It’s lunch on a Friday and the sandwich bar is closed because they didn’t want to stock it. It is just pure lazy to not have sandwich meat available for people to order sandwiches. The deli manager needs to do a better job.

Very rude staff. A bigger gentlemen with a hat and black hair was extremely rude and told me and my family to go back outside and then proceeded to lock the doors on my children. The same person also chased around what looked like a highschool age student and proceeded to tackle him and yell he was stealing when he did not have items in his cart. Overall a very poor experience I will not be shopping here again

I love to stop in Newport at Safeway when I visit Diamond Lake. The people are nice and it's not too far away. I always go for the gallons of ice cream!

I am sorely displeased every single time I visit this pharmacy. The 3 times I have been the wait is SO long for only a few people in line. The person behind the register moves at an incredibly slow pace. The first time I filled a med here it took over a month to be filled, the second I was in line for close to 30 minutes. When there are two people behind the register the younger gal serves customers at twice the rate of the older gal. This 3rd time, again very very long wait for prescriptions that are all ready for pickup. Every time I have visited there's four people behind the counter. Seems staffing is not the issue.I see a doctor in Spokane but thought I'd fill prescriptions where I live. Will be switching back to the Costco pharmacy in Spokane.

Lousy customer service . Ignorant rude dark haired girl with tattoos, nasty as can be. Guaranteed she's a single mother. Fat too. Any real women left in the world. She's the reason women still remain second class citizens and too stupid to know why. Shops at family dollar across street too. Another ignorant place. Small Town mentality.

Seem to have trouble keeping check out lanes open recently. Managers still walking around and even by the huge line. We walked in and walked out tonight, 8/11/18, as there was only one lane open and a line across the whole front of the store...

Staff are always very friendly and helpful. Store is clean. Long checkout lines tend to develop here often as they usually don't have more than a couple of registers open, but this has improved some since they installed self-checkout lanes. Expensive compared to Fred Meyer, Costco, etc. in Spokane - but it is convenient.

Disappointed this is the only grocery store in the area, dirty and over priced, the deli meat slicers are Filthy if you buy lunch meat buy pre packaged. The employees are nice though.

Friendly staff, good quality, very very clean and you can tell they've been working hard... If nobody else has noticed, I sure did and I appreciate everyone who works there... My step son, Jason fox, worked there for awhile and loved the atmosphere. It's all around one of my favorite stores to shop at and that's saying a lot since I'm from Seattle....

Glad to say that Safeways Curbside Pickup has really improved with their service. Their attendants are improving on getting the orders correct, especially with the fruits and vegetables. If they run out of an item with a Super Discount, they'll replace it with a comparable item at the same discount. Great Service.

So I had a very long day, which involved trying to get balloons that I had specifically ordered blown up, I called Safeway and they said they could do that. Yay! And then while there my son stepped on a shelf and sent a ton of crystal glasses shattering to the floor. Instead of them ringing me up and charging me an arm and a leg. They simply asked if we were okay and it was okay. So nice of them. Then we left the balloons there because it was sweltering outside and we came back later to pick them up and when we did the second we walked outside they started blowing up so we ran back inside and left them till the next morning. We lost two balloons and my son was in tears. Well I just went in to pick them up and they had found one of the balloons that my son was in tears about losing and they had replaced it. All the way home. My son was ecstatic that they had found that number five balloon that he could not get over. He's been laughing and giggling about it since we left. Thank you so much for your kindness.

Store was well stocked and clean. I can't say more than that because as 1 of very few stores in this area the prices are so high! If I lived in the area and only had the choice of shopping local , I wouldn't be able to feed my family for the month!

Great store, lots of good sales when you have the Safeway card..The pharmacy is really good, they come out from behind the counter to help you..Same goes for the deli they very very anxious to make sure your happy with your purchase.And you Need to visit the bakery, just wonderful..The liquor isle is not lacking in any product, other words its it's a full bank, the selection is the biggest..

The cashier was very helpful and showed me how to save money just be entering my phone number. And, the woman in the bakery department was AWESOME! She boxed up a tiramisu for me even though the bakery had closed. I'll be back soon!

Bathroom was so disgusting, I have never smelled anything like it! No one wears a mask, even the employees don’t know how to wear a mask. As someone who is immunocompromised I refuse to go places who can’t follow a simple rule to keep your fellow man safe. Definitely won’t be patronizing this store again.

Safeway is a national grocery store chain that has tons of coupons and deals going on at all times. This location is usually pretty busy during the summer, but during the winter is dead. Parking is good outside and the bathrooms inside are clean. The employees here are very nice, and their food counter is usually pretty stocked.
