I absolutely love this place!! The scenery is gorgeous and the vibe is so laid back - exactly what camping should be like. Campsites are first-come-first-serve and the are no official sites, you just set up wherever you feel fits best. The off season was perfect because there were maybe 10 of us camping so we all had plenty of space and gorgeous spots. I also loved that there were a few local dogs who hung around the campground. They were so friendly towards people and other dogs and protected the campground from coyotes at night (yes, really! We heard one of them chase off multiple). It was also nice because we were able to let our dog off the leash as we walked around the campground. It seemed like as long as dogs were respectful and well-behaved, no one was bothered by it. The bathrooms were in decent condition so that makes me think feedback from a previous review was acted on, because they were in good condition during my stay. It's well off the beaten path so expect roads to be filled with pot holes, but nothing too serious. Our prius handled it just fine!

An amazing Coastal Cove Resort with clean cabins, beautiful beaches, fresh air, eagles, and friendly locals. The road conditions are subject to very, and in some places are in poor condition (potholes). Neah Bay is a local fishing town with an awesome view of the Straight of Juan De Fuca, a few restaurants and a general store and gas station. Cape Flattery is a short drive. Make sure you bring a Makah Tribe Recreational Use Permit and follow local regulations. For smoked salmon, June and July are good months to visit. Halibut is typically available all year.

Beautiful location, not much privacy as far as camp sites. Very gracious host named ‘Cookie’ (by the name of her dog tag) came to greet me, took me on a tour of her property. It’s paradise here when it isn’t raining.

I wish I could leave a better rating but the state of the bathrooms has lead me to the 3 stars which I am being gracious for leaving. I understand it is off season but if your campground is open for business, the bathrooms should be clean and the trash not over flowing. The reason I am giving 3 stars instead of 1 is because the women in the office I spoke to over the phone was very lovely and helpful.I surely hope the cleanliness of these bathrooms improves.

We stayed in Cabin 3 which was pet friendly. We felt lucky to find such a nice place to stay. The bed was comfy, the shower was hot with lots of pressure and the rooms were very clean. Lots of channels on the TV. We would stay again. Warning... the resort has trouble with reservations made the same day after 5 because they close at 5. Call ahead or go into the office.

This place is a gift to stay. The landscape is stunning, the staff are friendly, the cabins are clean and comfortable with all the necessities. It was a healing experience for me to stay for over a week and see the different weather patterns move through: from rainy days to bright, sunny hot days. The Makah folks are hospitable, and I’m always grateful for the opportunity to experience what it is like to live in one of the most beautiful places on earth! Time somehow doesn’t exist, I get to slow down, and finally take in life. Thank you to the staff for making my experience five stars! Thank you Bill! Thank you Holly!Rooms: The cabins are cute and quaint, with everything needed for cooking. The couch was super cozy, there were bunk beds and everything was clean and maintained.Nearby activities: Surfing, fishing, hiking, going to the museum, Makah Days, canoe journeys, kids games, long walks on the beach, kayaking, paddleboarding, diving, sitting around doing nothing for once.Safety: I felt so incredibly safe traveling solo, both when I had the whole grounds to myself and when the campgrounds were full. Manager and crews keep an eye on things daily.Walkability: Just a few steps to get to the beach from my cabin, and there I found the beginning of the earth - the most beautiful place on the planet.Noteworthy details: There is one Rez dog, Cookie, who made me feel like the center of the universe. Hung out with me everyday of my stay and made me feel like family.

The cabins we stayed in were kind of small for having two toddlers indoors but the front porch made up for a great play space. My kids are more about being outside anyway. It was a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere even with as many campers there for the event that weekend. The only thing that was a bit of a damper was the dishes all had to be washed before we could use them. We notified the office on our way out and they were polite and apologetic. I look forward to going back.

We love Hobuck. My father was married on the beach here eight years ago. I've camped here, stayed in both the beach front cabins and the cabins by the campground and I've loved both- except this morning my partner and I were surprised to have housekeeping walk in on us at 9:30 am! I think a security lock like most hotels have would prevent this. This made my partner feel somewhat unsafe understandably. I sent off a quick email to the office and they responded rather quickly which I appreciated. They told me that nothing was against policy because they didn't see my car so they did not think anyone was staying there. This was a little frustrating as I had a reserved the room and we had arrived at 6 pm the night before (office hours are listed as open until 7 pm) and they had already closed up shop for the day. Had they been around for check in, they definitely would have known we were there. I think overall the problems were minor and avoidable on their end with a bit of care, it was just a frustrating experience. We'll be back but I think from now on we'll camp to avoid any resort staff intruding on us.

Clean comfortable affordable cabins, and the shower is powerful! It’s a short walk from the cabins and campsites to a very long walkable beach. Glad we brought our rain boots to walk in the water and in the creek. Bring layers, bring wind-breaker style jacket. Easy reservations, easy to find, easy to use code-lock door, easy walk to the beach, easy checkout. Wish we had more than one night.

Nice Campground open field you get to pick your spot can become crowded. Lots of dogs with no leashes. People there are friendly great for kids and family. The showers could use some extra cleaning but the water pressure is great. And the water gets hot. If you're lucky you'll find the local police officer with the clown nose and he'll blow balloons up for your children.

We pulled in just after hours, no prior reservations (for tent camping)! The local guy had some humor with us and informed us to pick a spot and come back in the morning for the fees due.The sites arrange from the brush foliage to an open area. The beach is on the other side of the brush, there's trail access. There are port-a-potties spread throughout the area. There are the main bathrooms and showers, no lips or ledges for access (wheelchair accessible). One actual bathroom and shower stall per gender. There are outside showers and sinks available too. Most of the area is accessible with a vehicle for camping. There are tent camping areas, over little sand dunes, that would require 4x4. When we first arrived, I naively pulled side ways between two little dunes and my rear end buried down. Thank goodness, for the person who invented 4x4. I didn't need 4x4 after that. A little bit of gas before coming and going was all that was needed after that.Walkability: The camp ground itself is an open spread for the most part. From the office to the bathrooms to camping sites. Just before the beach. There's one or two small, sand-ish dunes. Followed by brush/tree foliage that has small trails to the Pacific Ocean.

10 out of 5. will stay here again many many times. quaint, modern cabins. full amenities; literally everything including a coffee maker (drip). Fancy shampoo, heater works super fast, and it has TV too! Visited many times but this was our 1st time in a cabin, but this will be a regular occurrence for us! A++Rooms: comfortable beds, spotless shower/bathroom, TV has every channel under the sun (we caught the end of a playoff basketball game).Noteworthy details: Their site downplays the scenery at the north cabins. "Obstructed" view of the ocean is not really accurate- you can absolutely see and hear the ocean from just about every cabin.

My small dog was attacked by a camper's off leash dog over the weekend. It was completely unprovoked - my dog is 18lb and was leashed, walking slightly behind me. I heard a noise, turned, and a very large dog had come out of nowhere, knocked my dog down and was standing on her. I was with friends and we got it off of her and fended it off until the owner eventually called it off. Such a terrifying experience. This is not a safe place to bring pets. I would hesitate to bring small children too. It isn't like a campsite with a host - there's no obvious oversight or safety enforcement going on.

Incredible beach! Wonderful natural setting on the Makah Reservation. Laid back approach to campground camping. Find a patch of ground and pitch a tent. Scattered picnic tables and established fire pits, but lots of room to improvise. Use it as a base to further explore the area, or take a relaxing day on the beach. Lots of well behaved dogs (and people) mingling about.

We booked cabins 22, 23, and 24 for a group of us coming from the Seattle area. Apparently while we were driving the power went out in the entire county. They were very accommodating and tried to warn us, but we didn't have much cell service driving along the coast. But when we showed up they also gave us lots of extra blankets and lanterns and batteries in case the power was out for the whole night. It came back on a few hours later!I was staying in a cabin with my four small kids and loved the bunk beds, pull-out couch, and queen size bed (which was surprisingly comfortable!). The cabins were very clean and nice, and you can't beat the views! I sat on the patio with a cup of coffee (which was provided in the cabin) and watched the sun come up and listened to the waves crash. No matter in the rain or sun, this is an incredible place that we will definitely be booking again!Somethings to note (at least about south cabins 22-26):-No wifi, but with Verizon I had full bars, and they have Direct TV-The kitchens have no oven, but 2 electric coils and a microwave, as well as pots and pans. A coffee maker is in each cabin WITH coffee grounds.-The staff is fantastic; if you need anything additional, just ask!-The cabins each have a game (ours had scrabble) which was so fun to play in the rain when the power was out!-When looking at hotels/motels/Airbnbs in the area, these cabins were by far the cheapest option, while also have SO MUCH MORE to offer than other locations.-If you're coming from the east through Port Angeles, be sure to take 112/113 out of town. It's a little bit of a slower drive with some switchback turns, but the views are stellar!

Great place for surfing, relax and chill. Get salmon in town. Cook it up! Hikes nearby superb. Get campsites on the west side front for more privacy and shade in the trees. $25 per night campsite $20 year rec pass. Nice sunny weather is typically summer with offshore winds.

A large, spacious campground (first come first serve) located right next to the Pacific Ocean. Lots of picnic tables and fire rings available. Bathrooms with running water and port-a-potties are available on site. Bathrooms were nice enough, could use some cleaning/updating. Overall, a nice place to stay for the night

Not so many people here since it was after Labor Day but I would give it a 1 star for cleanliness...really. Honey buckets were a no-go, showers I was glad I had flip flops and a camper for everything else. I cleaned up litter from my site....the beach is a beauty but how about a little love for the place eh?!

Great price at $155 night and purchase a $20 reservation permit for the trails. They have surfing equipment and paddle boarding though we just took a nice long walk on the shore with low tide. It was absolutely stunning location and great spacious cabins with all appliances and silverware, cookware needed. The pictures speak for themselves! One of the only downsides are the toilet doesn’t have a brush (there is a plunger) and don’t forget to go to washburns before! There’s no store up here. There is great reception with att almost full bars outside and 2 bars inside cabins. No WiFi

One of our favorite place to visit! Thank you to the Makah Nation for maintaining this space for visitors to stay. It is well kept and equipped with restrooms, showers, and water available for all campers. The camping fee of $25 per night is also very reasonable for the easy beach access. It’s a great spot for surfing, hiking, or just lounging on the beach!

It was really busy when we first pulled in, but we were lucky enough to get a spot with a trail leading right to beach. Beautiful sandy beach with awesome sunsets. Lots of free roaming dogs around. Very friendly, though. Get firewood in town as they don't sell at resort. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone. The surf is great here!

Such a beautiful location. Bathrooms are totally inadequate for the amount of people who camp there. The shower was FILTHY. I always though fisherman were the dirtiest people on the planet. Nope...its the surfers. Signs all over saying not to wash wet suits in the bathroom but that doesn't stop them. The place should be shut down for sanitation reasons. The bathrooms need to be added on to. One stall and one shower for 100 camping vehicles is ridiculous. At least get someone to clean them more often. I did feel a sense of racism at the office. You can feel it and sense it and discern it. The dude at the office should be out cleaning toilets. Hes gone for like two hours during lunch. He asked if we had a Recreation Permit..."No"...he smeared and smirked and without hesitation added it to the total. Maybe use this permit money to hire someone to clean the freaking bathrooms! The whole town is dirty like any Rez...never figured that out...I did enjoy the smoked salmon we bought in town though. Eyeballs were good too.

Wow! What a spot! Great for car camping with super close access to the beach. You do need the Makah Rec Pass when in this region, and can purchase one here. I believe it was $20 and it’s good for a whole year. Several businesses in town also sell the recreation pass if you happen to make a stop before getting to Hobuck. We are new to the region and just learned this is an awesome surf spot. Good for beginners and pros alike. Huge surf community and a mobile school comes that offers surf camp for the tribe kids. The locals told us the summer is really calm and as winter approaches the waves get huge. Depending on the time of the year, a wetsuit is recommended as the water is pretty cold. We visited early August and with the recent weather the water actually wasn’t too bad and just a bathing suit. We usually experience great people when camping, and this location was the same. All of our neighbors were laid-back and friendly. Lots of dogs here, the Res dogs are very chill. The cabins were booked, you likely need reservations way in advance, but car camping we showed up in the middle of the night and found a spot. Have an indoor and outdoor shower with scalding hot water. Had a bathroom with running water as well as Porta potty‘s. There are some great campsites along the tree line, if you get here early I recommend grabbing one of those. Closer to the beach, a bit more privacy, and a spot for your hammock. We absolutely love it here and can’t wait to come back. Hobuck Beach resort is a gem!
