Once a year, a street fair in Mount Vernon opens for 3 days. Usually red apple lets us park in there parking spots, but this time we got towed. The manager was unkind enough to say it’s not his fault and would later stalk us because we were telling people that the manger and the store was a messy and a childish business. It makes me want to NOT shop there, when no one has empathy to just offer us a ride, with down town mount Vernon not having Any taxis or anything. And I hope people around in this county reads this, and maybe have a change in mind about this “NICE STORE”. Thank you for your time.

Red Apple Towed our car during the street far right before we were about to go buy from them. Red apple has no respect for community. Not to mention, we weren’t even given empathy. I was there with my 5 children and they couldn’t even say sorry. Once a year for 3 days doesn’t it seem like common curtesy to be a kind person and not tow everybody who decides to park at your parking lot? Most businesses with common sense would not make this retarded mistake pushing away customers , and community.

If i could give negative stars, I would... I recently visited your establishment when myself and 4 kids in tow went to the street fair. Parking is limited, which it always has been (thank goodness for the garage going in), we circled many many blocks until we came across a parking spot in the Red Apple/Bank of America lot. I decided to park there since, at the time of arrival, there was no sign saying there was no street fair parking, and it's worth mentioning that both lots at red apple/bank of America were packed. This along with the fact that I've lived in the valley and have parked here during the street fair for every year of my 35 years of life. Red apple has always been a community store. Actually, all of down town MV is, especially during the streetfair. All of the downtown companies give up their store front parking for the 3 day long festival, specifically because it brings tourism to our town. After a GREAT day at the streetfair, we went back to our car to see it had been towed. When I went in to talk to a Red Apple Manager about this (which btw, other then the owners son, everyone was very sweet and empathetic) I was met with so much disgust and attitude. I had asked to speak to the man that had my car towed. They said he wasn't there and I could speak to the manager (later finding out from the very nice tow truck driver, it is the new owner's son). I explained to this man what I had stated above and most concerningly, how am I supposed to get myself and 4 kids to burlington to pick up our car. I was met with a "so" from this man. Rather then any sympathy or understanding. He informed me that there were signs. There were not. There certainly were signs when we got back, but not when we first parked there. Besides the point, I understand you are an establishment and needed to do what you needed to do (I suppose). But to be treated like I wasn't a human is not ok. I did not yell at your manager until he decided to speak over me when I was trying to talking to him about our community and that this stands for everything MV is against. I also think it's worth mentioning that when I got back and my car was gone, the parking lot was still half full. I'm sorry but the 5 customers you had in your store at the time of me speaking sternly to your manager (my kids said I used my mom voice), do not add up to the vehicles there. So why my car? The incredible kind tow truck driver at Peter's towing also mentioned you towed 6 other cars that day. You my friend are everything we don't want in MV and our community. You should be ashamed of how you targeted locals. BTW, I had every intention of coming in to grocery shop after our day at the street fair, because that was only fair. I will now, never step foot in your establishment until there are new owners. And I will do everything in my power to make sure people understand what kind of business you are. But seeing it's always dead in your store, I'm guessing people are already getting the memo. Good luck responding back defensively.

I love working here. My bosses and co-workers are great and we are a great team. Getting to know the regulars and meeting new people alike. I see a lot of humanity and how we help our fellow humans. I love meeting people.

I like the hot deli food but The older woman who works in the deli slash meat department could be more courteous to customers instead of profiling them. I Try to ask her for help. And the first thing she said was I was gonna have to pay for the things. I had as if I wasnt going to go to the register.

It was a quick stop to grab some fresh produce, it was not crowded. Wearing mask is required upon entry. Neat and tidy all aisles including the meat and seafood section. Well organized fresh produce, spacious frozen aisles, absolutely satisfying grocery shopping. Upon check out, cashier was wearing mask and counter has separate divider. Health and safely protocols are in place in this business. We highly recommend their kind and friendly services.

Kind of rude I emptied my basket of my purchases and set it down to pay I was going to put it back the cashier made a huge show of looking around to make sure I wasn't keeping anything in the small basket after I even slid it out so she could see it was empty she checked it twice very flagrant and short with me. The selection is very small and the prices more than most places.

Being the only actual grocery store on the south end of town means it's convenient, but the selection is somewhat limited and costs more because there's they can.

No public restroom. The staff denied my grandpa bathroom access. I do not recommend shopping here.

Little higher price wise but better produce and not as busy as the big Satan Safeway the ominous red S that makes us shiver with grocery fear! Safeway sucks and this is what's left.

When in south Mt Vernon, the red apple is the only place to shop. I stop in at the deli for a snack or drink.

I've been shopping here occasionally for years, and haven't had problems until the past year. The older man with the long gray beard who works there follows me around the store when he sees me like I'm a thief. I'm not and It's insulting.

Great small local grocery store. Has everything you need. Friendly staff and good selection. Its important to support small businesses. It's very convenient to just duck in for a few items and get home quickly.

I really like this store. It's so mellow and pleasant shopping here! I love going into a store and not having to look at 50 different kinds of pickles to choose from. It's a small store, so bring your own bag and smile while you shop at a Mt. Vernon neighborhood jewel. Check out their weekly specials!

I go to Red Apple every couple of years, just to remind myself why I don't go there anymore. They have a very poor selection and variety, and their prices are really high. They very rarely have whatever I'm looking for.

LOVE this store! I just moved into a house just half a mile away from here. Great selection of products and the prices are often surprisingly good considering they are a smaller, independent store. Meats are top notch. I picked up everything for a roast by last visit. Also love the huge selection of Beaver condiments that aren't always so easy to find. Lots of products you don't find elsewhere as well. Staff is always super friendly and they seem to know a lot of those coming in by name. Hopefully they'll know mine soon! - Laura with the pink hair

All the staff there are very nice. And understand the dog lover community. I purchased something, but also asked for free ice & water for my 🐕 Mindy Lynn. They were VERY nice & cordial about it. It's nice to see & have that around when Dairy Queen on College Way is charging you .15 cents for a cup of ice water AFTER..U buy their ice cream!! Wow 😜

Went to this "safe place" to park and get some lunch with a colleague. We are pest control technicians and we both drive company trucks that are clearly labeled and service Skagit county. We were yelled at not to park there before we even went in. I went in to use the restroom at least and was refused even though I stated that I am 9 months pregnant. Probably the worst I have ever been treated by a grocery store in my own town. Will not be giving any more business to this store. I know the vagrant community has gotten bad but I don't know too many drug addicts that are in uniform and drive 2022 Toyota Tacoma's. I would recommend retraining for customer service.

That's the best part of going to my Dr. In MT. Vernon, the store is just one of the places that makes Skagit County the lovely country town, a spirit of good ole,, down home, neighborly folks! But the best thing is the "chicken salad, stuffed pita sandwich! I used to go there once a week, now I down to one time a month, never felt so sad, about getting better! 😂

Friendly, family owned local shopping. The deli is AMAZING! Hot food with daily specials. Fresh made grab and go sandwiches and custom sandwiches. Hot soups. AMAZING and huge taco / salad bar. Friendly and FUN staff. Very experienced on site, full time meat cutter. I've priced grocery prices at Safeway and sales are competitive. My #1 go to, shop locally market.

Reminds me of the local neighborhood stores that carry most of the essentials you might need when you cannot get to a big chain grocery store. This store does seem pricey but it is much bigger than most neighborhood convenience store by far. The staff was friendly and lines were short.

Nice folks, but the market is old and kind of dirty feeling. Lots of water dripping from the refrigerated sections and I really wouldn't be comfortable buying anything that was prepared and/or packaged there. It was just how I felt being in there. The employees were the one redeeming quality, as they were friendly and welcoming. Good form.

Been shopping here awhile now. Selection is dicey but good values can be found. The staff are generally fantastic with a couple exceptions. In which case they are as sketchy as some of the train stop clientele this store must serve as a downtown core market. Change up a couple employees and offer some sweet local foods they might be able to keep pace with the Co-op.

Employees are all very friendly and helpful. It's a nice place to grocery shop, sit down and have a bite, and to get coffee. There is a barista there, and self-serve coffee, plus fresh donuts are brought in daily. Yummy!

I love this little store..big enough to accomodate and small enough to care. Locally sourced produce when possible, a real butcher shop and staff that know the regulars by name. The fried chicken in the hot case is outstanding. Maybe a little higher on some things, but they still bag your groceries and give you down home service.

Always loved this store. I drive all the way time Concrete just for their deki food. Hot chicken and crab sticks, soda fountain, (I don't know if the fountain machine is open because of Covid at this time) I haven't been there for a few months. They have good coleslaw too.

Great place to shop! The time/quality efficiency with which the employees consult the customers is outstanding! Red Apple Market in Mount Vernon is arguably among the very few most hospitable retail businesses in Skagit County! Their customer service is absolutely unparalleled! In all the 18 years I have been shopping at this location I have ALWAYS felt an undeniable sense of welcomeness upon arrival. This down-to-Earth feel as well as their exceptional customer service has remained unwavering and genuine throughout ALL of my experiences at this store as well! Additionally, past and present-day employees alike haven't/don't conceal the fact that they are passionate about the variety and quality with which they maintain/store and present all of their products! NEVER a bad experience at this Market whatsoever! Highly recommend this establishment to any/all people! Especially if you happen to value the above-mentioned attributes and qualities in a market and it's employees as I do myself! Keep up the great work and outstanding service Red Apple, your efforts and attitudes have not gone unseen!
