This place is a farmers dream. They have live chicks this time of year and everything from power tools to pop rocks and everything in between plus tons of stuff for farming and gardening. It’s amazing. They have a decent supply of pet products as well. I’ll have to go back soon and explore more of the store. I didn’t even see that much of it when I was there.

The chicks/ducks they sell are neglected and not properly taken care of. We have bought and taken care of lots of baby ducks from here and never seen any in such horrible conditions. The water was awful. When we brought it up to an employee she rudely said “they are just ducks” and dismissed it rolling her eyes.

I've been a loyal customer of North 40 since the days they use to be branded Big R. They always have the neatest stuff I can't find anywhere else and you cannot beat the prices for high quality bulk sized dog bones and treats. We love seeing the chicks every spring for sale in the front. We love shopping for clothes and gardening tools. Below in my pics you can see an awesome deal that you wouldn't find anywhere. North 40 is the only local hardware store that I know of that stocks brand new DeWalt batteries for half the cost just because they buy them in bulk out of the packaging. It's an insane deal that I wish most hardware stores offered.

How to get my dog food? They were having the Black Friday. Cell dog food is quite a bit cheaper for the amount. I can't complain everybody. There is always Ben friendly polite courteous. And extremely helpful I would recommend

Good store with a good selection. Check out times can be slow but otherwise excellent place to buy anything for animals, gardening, farming etc.

I found what I wanted very easily. Young lady cashier did not say hello. Scanned my purchase said total was handed receipt no thank you or anything. Should be greeted and thanked

The woman who fills up propane is actually really rude, she is not pleasant to be around at all. I’ve encountered here on 3 occasions now.I spend a lot of money here and love it but she’s a real downer on a good day. Honestly just hoping you can send somebody else out next time for the propane.

I needed a bigger kennel for our puppy, which is a bully. I was told by a friend to check out North 40 which I did and found a large selection of kennels to choose from. The prices I felt were very reasonable and the quality of the kennels were pretty good. My pup is now in a bigger kennel. I knew there was another North 40 in North Spokane, and I decided to go there to pick up some organic chicken feed. The store was tiny compared to the Airway Heights North 40. It felt cluttered. I also would walk my puppy around the AH North 40 to help her acclimate her around strangers/people. The aisles are super narrow at the N Spokane store. The clerk that rang up my order was a sweetheart. The employees at the AH North 40 were all super sweet. That is what rang true at both stores.

Apparel departments are convoluted. Mens, womens, kids and baby clothes are intermixed throughout each section on the clothing side of the store. You can't easily figure out where you should be looking for the items you need. This store wasn't like this before. It's been some time since my last visit, so I don't know what happened. The staff in the shoe department were too busy hanging out at the table in the back to help us. I felt like I was disrupting their conversation the two times I had a question. Between the disorganization, poor staff and high prices I think I'll take my business elsewhere. If you need baby chicks or ducks, then this is still the place to get them.

Absolutely love the energy whenever I go in. Its friendly, nothing but welcoming. Great selection of tools and men's boots. Lots more available for the daily needs. Many locations with hopefully more to come in the future. The "troll co" shirts sold there fit perfectly, forms to your arms and chest without feeling restrictive.

Clothing is expensive but fairly long-lasting. Selection of sporting goods fair. Decent selection of animal items from farm to home also fair. Staff are usually knowledgeable and friendly.
