Visiting my mom’s hometown of McCleary, we came upon this cute little place. The service was stellar and the food was delicious! Best onion rings and hamburger we’ve had our entire trip. And they serve PEPSI!! 😋 My mom enjoyed her crispy grilled cheese sandwich. If we weren’t so full, we would have tried their shakes. Sorry, no photos: we just grinded!

Well worth the stop in Mcleary for this burger stand. Small and unassuming but big on flavor. Not many places will go to the trouble and expense to offer certified angus beef. While it brings an extra cost to the consumer, it’s almost worth it in taste. Their signature burger is the “Grizzly” which is a half pound patty fully loaded including cheese and bacon! The *double* Grizzly is a ridiculous one pound mountain of meat! Best part is that the burgers vibe to the table SUPER juicy, not over cooked & dry as often happens. At $18 it’s a little outside the realm of a good deal. The combo with fries & a drink made the meal for two just over $40, again not cheap eats. Might have been okay with a decent size drink and more than a handful of fries. These two things not withstanding Bear’s Den is worthy of four stars.

The food was good tasting the BLT could have been built better and I would give it at least 4 stars however $5.50 that I paid for the onion rings was outrageous considering how many I got yes, the photo is accurate.The place was packed as I entered one girl that was working the counter was doing a fantastic job considering she also had to work the drive-thru window. It took about 1/2 hour or so for me to get my food.I will probably give them a second chance as they are new. So hopefully the portions will reflect the price.Parking: There are only about 6 parking spots and one of them is handicapped. Had to park across the street.

One car in line and one person eating inside and I had to wait 25 min for a burger and onion rings. New girl is no good. This will be the 2nd time my food was made wrong this week. I want to like coming here but you have a 50/50 chance your food will be made wrong. This week they were 100% off. Also if you call, expect to wait on hold and never get a response back. Good luck !

Great little burger shop! They also have fish n chips, other seafood and sandwiches. I loved the bacon and blue cheese burger, all the ingredients were fresh and each bite tasted great. My partner had the western burger and really enjoyed it (the BBQ sauce was a bit too sweet for his liking, for me? perfect) Their Goop sauce was my favorite version of fry sauce! Those fries too? Hot, fresh, fried in CLEAN oil and tasted fantastic. No complaints at all, would like to try more items next time we come in.

Second time coming here after just moving to town. The staff are so nice !! The girl with orange hair is always pleasant and the cook is nice too. I’ve tried two different things here and I’ll keep coming back because of the nice service and good food... also the fries are like McDonald’s so good.

Lived in McCleary for 3 years and never visited this place before the new owners took over. Western Burger was fantastic and the Bottoms Up draft beer was ice cold and refreshing. A tad pricey for fast food, but what isn't these days? Excellent.Kid-friendliness: Sidewalk chalk and Cornhole boards on the porch for the kiddos. Nice touch!

Good food and so far, no line both times we've gone! Food is good and service is great, the young woman that takes orders is friendly and helpful. I do appreciate the different food options rather than just burgers. Will def be back. My Philly Cheese sandwich was way too salty last nite, almost too salty however the burgers were great both times we've been there. Sometimes accidents happen.

Open in AppBackGregincoldlake B.’s ReviewsThe Bear’s DenBurgers2 minutes agoMy partner and I stopped in McCleary for fuel and lunch.   First rule of motorcycle travel.  Always listen to the gas attendant .Walking in to such a simple burger stand we were welcomed by very personable staff who offered personal opinion on our purchase when asked.  We accepted the advice and I had the Jalapeno swiss , and my partner had the bacon blue cheese burger.  Both with fries and a soda.The burgers were cooked to perfection, and fries were crispy and fresh, but the service.   I can't say enough. We asked about the local Bear Festival, and it turns out the staff member is president of the festival committee.   We learned local history and local economic history as well.If you are in McCleary and don't go here, you are missing out on a great burger and an awesome social experience
