It's a big box hardware store run by a family, at least that's how it seems. If you need hardware they've got it. They don't have it, chances are nobody else does either. Their staff is very knowledgeable, and are a good source for recommendations as well. Free coffee and popcorn. Generally, IMHO, their tool rental is significantly less pricey than Home Depot. A great resource.Update: I have a extensive chainsaw repair facility. I rented a large garden tiller, it broke a cotter pin. I was only able to use it for three out of the four hours and they knocked off 25% no questions asked. Great service!

This store has every kind of every category you need. Plants, kitchen, every kind of sealant, automotive maintenance, plus some parts, That odd tool you've been looking for. They probably have it. Very happy shopping/browsing experience.

Johnson's is my go-to place when I am looking for hard to find hardware, obscure parts and pieces and just about anything for the yard and garden. They have very knowledgeable and friendly staff as well.

Scott at the Johnson do it center went above and beyond when my Traeger took a turn for the worse over the 4th of July weekend Scott stepped out to the plate and not only did he help facilitate the correct parts that I needed he walked me through the whole process and even showed me their entire Traeger repair facility I have not seen customer service like this from an employee of a business in many years this is the type of leadership you are looking for I really hope the owners of johnson's take care of my buddy Scott because I sure wish there was more I could do for him

I love this store! They’re always so helpful and ready to assist me with anything I need. From ordering supplies (and they always call me right away when it comes in) to helping me with what tools I’ll need for my next project. Very nice staff. We didn't know store was closed and were just walking around. They politely tried to help instead of kicking us out like other stores would. Lots of special items like bolts etc. Will be back

Had a horrible experience with a store manager guy named Scott. I believe due to the high crime rate and homeless population i was profiled and asked to leave the store. I rely on this place for chicken feed and landscaping equipment through the stihl authorized dealer, and this manager is a problem to my life and business.

My husband and Father-in-Law have recently been doing some remodeling on our home in Ravensdale and had the most pleasant experience with an employee at this store named Lisa. Both came home after working with Lisa on a plumbing project and mentioned how knowledgeable Lisa was with their plumbing project! Great store. Very friendly and helpful staff. Gotta love the NW fasteners selection. Also very good tool selection (taps, bits, router bits). If I can't find something at the big box stores, Johnson's almost surely has it.

Far better selection of fasteners than I have ever seen. This is my new go-to. This is the super size version of your local hardware store that I always needed. It looks like they took a page from Fry's Electronics, but getting it just right, not over the top size. Plenty of fast cashiers and helpful people on the floor. This is the helpful friendly store you need, the anti Home Depot, but unlike most smaller hardware stores, the sheer selection is impressive.

I feel so compelled to leave a review because I almost wrote them off today but what Jessie did went beyond my expectations. Searching for a specific generator cable needed for today and shelf had it marked as $279.99. No way! Husband left to search McLendons and HD. I was online looking and everyone had it for $104.99 including Do-It Bests. Could have it shipped to MV store. I called and cashier said it was $104.99 but appeared out of stock so she sent me to Jessie to check stock. Jessie said price was $166.99 from what he saw in his system and online. I was frustrated and was willing to go to Tacoma to pick it up for $104.99. An hour and a half later, Jessie called my number back to say, "hey, I understand if you went elsewhere but you helped me find an error in our labeling and price and have 8 on the shelf for $104.99. We received them mislabeled from distributor." Well, we went back and bought it. Thanks Jessie! Johnson's is lucky to have someone like you who cares!

Cyndi in the paint department helped me. I explained my price point and what I wanted to accomplish. The paint she recommended did the job exactly as she promised. Bonus - she picked a great color to match the curtains I brought into the store. I was in and out in 10 minutes and very happy with the whole experience. Will definately be back! Thanks Cyndi!

Was so happy to find the new Yeti Nordic purple 20 oz cup there today! They didn't have all the sizes or new colors yet but the manager said they have an order coming in the next week or so with the purple, Nordic blue and charcoal cups in all the sizes as well as the coolers. Found the matching sticker in the check out line.

I shop here whenever I need hardware, paint, wild birds feeders and food. They have everything for the home and yard. They also have a very large cooler full of old fashioned soda in glass bottles. Really great selection. I find their paint to be wonderful to use and they have colors that match what I'm looking for. I have never met any employees that weren't super friendly and helpful. A year ago my mom hit a curb in their parking lot and popped her tire. A worker saw the whole thing. As she pulled into a stall he came over and asked if she was alright, he then said "do you have a spare?" She said yes and he said let me take care of this for you I just need to go tell my boss. His boss brought her some water while the kind worker put a new tires on for her. Great people, great local place to shop.

Great knowledge and they have a great Stihl dealership. They always have hard to find parts. Their nuts and bolts selection is great. It’s family run and I like the place. Been going here for years.Update 2019 - dropping to 4 stars.The specialty parts section has tremendous selection, prices are high especially for stainless steel. Screws can be .50c a piece. I wanted snaps over $1 a piece. Same ones bulk online $30 for 400 pieces. I got a turn buckle for canvas. One turn buckle - $5.00.It takes money and shelf space and it’s designed for buying a few parts and they do have bulk buys there. Just not stainless.
