What a beautiful gem of a winery! Secluded, thoughtful, beautiful property doing good work. Reservations required, so plan ahead. Also most of the seating is outdoors near one of many fire pits so dress warm in all but summer months.

Wine tasting was a unique experience. We were seated at a table in a beautiful garden and the host would walk by us every 10 minutes to pour us the next wine. Out of the 6 wines we tasted, there were only 2 that we really liked. Tasting were $25 and tasting fee waved of you buy 4 bottles. Bottles were $30-65 each. Not dog friendly. Overall a nice experience but not for the price. Outside food allowed

We have toured/tasted at wineries all around the world & Synchline was definitely our fave experience! A true hidden treasure, and a peaceful, beautiful garden environment. The staff was wonderful, from the cheerful greeting by Lauren, followed by, Randi, our knowledgeable tasting server. Cody made sure we were treated well & had an enjoyable experience. The Picpoul was our fave white, don't miss this one.

Haven’t been in 4 years. Stopped by today and caught some pretentious or tired crankiness. We left and not buying anymore more Syncline wines. :-(

Thank You to everyone at Syncline for a thoroughly delightful evening last Saturday, the 8th of October. Lauren was great!Everyone was so friendly. Soul Prophet was outstanding. (We did our best to clap as loud as we could.)We found a wonderful spot in the garden and loved sharing it with bees, moths, hummingbirds close; acorn woodpeckers in the nearby oaks.Your attention to detail and accommodations were just wonderful; we are so glad that the weather made for a joyful, (Busy!!! for you folks) evening for all.We will be back!

We had a very nice information-packed talk with the tasting room manager who is knowledgeable and devoted to his work. The vineyard is lovely and the wines very refined.

I have been to this winery on three separate occasions. I have never been greeted warmly or made to feel at home. Most of my interactions with staff have left me feeling like I shouldn’t have bothered them, or I’m just not cool enough to be there. As for prices and the wine, it’s really not that great. The location is decent but I barely know that. The last time I was there the place was absolutely empty and we just wanted to grab a glass and walk around, in which I always purchase wine. I was told no, not unless I had a reservation or was a wine member. It was empty! However, we left and went to another winery down the way in which they accommodated us. We left that place with lots of wine and a great experience. Motto should be: Don’t waste your time with Syncline.

Very cool winery that we thoroughly enjoyed. The folks there were very friendly and knowledgeable when we visited on Friday. Tastings are $10, and includes samples of the 5 wines they had available. The syrah was so good, I ordered a glass. Lots of cool places to sit, talk, and relax, including a number of hammocks! We headed over after stopping by the Hood River Water Front Park. Bring cash ($2 each way) for the toll bridge if you're coming from OR.

I live in California, but make sure to visit each and every time I am in town, as this is one of my favorite wineries! We are wine club members as well, and look forward to each and every shipment. These wines are extremely well made and delicious, and the tasting room staff has always made it a fun experience, no matter how busy they are. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent wines and they've created a beautiful space to partake and enjoy their fruit of the vine. Be prepared for a bit of sticker shock though. Cheap it ain't.

Went during the 2019 winter storm! Beautiful and we were the only ones to brave the snow packed roads so we had the tasting room to ourselves:) First time ever. Love everything about Syncline. Lovely wines. Never tasted anything bad honestly. Favorites are still Subduction Red and Scintillation(both sold out now) Just great wine making altogether 👌

The only reason I am giving this winery one star is that there is nothing less than one star that I can give. We looked at the website and drove 35 miles to visit the winery. We arrived when they opened and the smug, rude, full-of-himself greeter told us that the winery was "thinking" of making the winery members only. There was essentially no one there and an abundance of empty seats. There was no mention of this "thinking" on the website. The greeter didn't seem to care that the website was inaccurate. He turned us away, again, smug and rude. I will never buy a syncline wine again, and will tell everyone of this uncaring, pretentious (for no clear reason) winery, and encourage their wine and the winery be avoided completely. I have had syncline wine in the past and it was just okay, and not worth the price or the pretention. We wondered why most of the reviews gave one star and now we have our answer. lesson learned. Don't bother going there!!!

As always, our experience at Syncline was exceptional. We tasted gorgeous, seductive wines; varietals primarily from the Southern Rhone region of France, created beautifully by Owner/Winemaker, James Mantone. Our experience was further complemented by the outstanding and knowledgeable staff. Everyone took time with us and made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Syncline ❤

Syncline is not only a beautiful winery with great wine, but the people are really nice. I've been here about 10 times over the past few years and everyone I've met has been incredibly nice and accessible. They took wine, which I was intimidated about, and made it simple and fun. They aren't pretentious, but do take obvious pride in the wines they craft. Everything is delicious but their Rose is my favorite. Seriously, don't think "wow that is pink wine," just try it, it's great.

My Birthday was off to a great start on a wine tour of our beautiful state of Washington. We met some amazing couples we clicked with and spent the most of the day with laughter and wine tasting. We were initially refused a tasting because they judged our happiness for over consumption (which was not the case at all). They then realized after pre judging that we were taste test ready!!! All four couples were at a high level of disgust at Kate's service and were ready to remove our business. We decided to stay and we're refused to order a bottle in between tastings for the 8 of us. We were told we had to wait until we finished testing all types of wine.Miss Kate preceded to tell us she was the wine maker yet couldn't explain the Theory behind the wineries concept. The consumers that attended the tour with us were all highly educated professionals and expecting to interact with experts. Instead we were treated like scolded children. Little did the server know one of the attendees was a doctor and being lectured on hydration. Wow! Just Wow!We all left with one thing in common. The disgust with the lack of respect and tactics the staff had while serving us.The scenerary was beautiful, the wine was average (def not worth the large price tag involved). I will not be back or give them any referrals. I actually never ever make any social media complaints but feel this may help the owners possible success in the future!! It may also save the next consumers from ruining their day that they paid good money for!!

We are wine club members here. Their wines are a lovely counterpoint to the wines we typically drink in the Willamette Valley, being more in a style of the Rhone Valley (predominantly Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre). I particularly enjoy their GSM blend, Cuvee Elena, and their rose, which is done in a dry, crisp Provencal style. Their Estate Syrah is worth trying if there is a bottle open. The tasting room staff are so friendly and welcoming, as are the spectacular gardens, which invite you to linger in a hammock beneath spreading oak trees. When we most recently visited, the grass was fresh-cut and the flowers were in bloom; it smelled amazing. We took our time tasting and enjoying the scenery. It is the perfect place to bring a picnic--especially a picnic that would pair with a nice bottle of Picpoul, Gruner-Veltliner, or rose.

We went to the winery on Saturday with a group of five with reservations that are required. Paid $53 for reservations, didn't realize until we got there that that reservation was only for the table for an hour and a half and didn't include tastings or a discount on wine. The wine was good, but disappointed in the fact that the fee wasn't stated up front.Seems like a very expensive price just to sit at a table.

We happened upon this winery by accident on a weekend drive. We were so pleasantly surprised at their wines that we took home a case. Their wine is a step above most wineries in the area. They offer a lot more than your typical 4 or 5 varietals as well.

We had a lovely wine tasting time at Syncline. The atmosphere was lovely on a sunny October afternoon, with the hammocks and seating arranged spaciously throughout the garden area.

Beautiful outdoor area and Adirondacks. Matt was a great host and this was our fave spot in Lyle. The grenache Blanc was a hit, other wines not standout but still great experience

My husband and I discovered Syncline Winery during the Columnia Gorge Winegrowers passport weekend April 12-14. During that weekend, we had the opportunity to sample the Subduction Red from 2011 and enjoyed it so much that we purchased a bottle. Last evening we opened it and remembered what we appreciated about this wine - amazing blend of grapes! Thank you for this wonderful wine!

I've traveled 358 degrees of longitude around the world and visited many a vineyard in Europe, Australia, California, and yes, even Texas. Of all the places peculiar to the growing of grapes for wine production, the Columbia River Gorge at the border of the dry and wet boundary of the Cascades simply creates the finest mix of soil, water, temperature, and elevations to provide a truly unique terroir. Syncline Winery has the family pride of the Mantone's coupled with James' outstanding skill as a winemaker. He obviously knows his craft not only from a scientific sense, but as an artist of the vine. Syncline has become my favorite vineyard in the world and that honor was truly earned by virtue of its impressive products and world class customer service.

This is my favorite winery in the gorge. The wine is fantastic, especially their syrah. The people are great and the setting is beautiful.

In my humble opinion this is one of the premiere wineries in the Columbia Gorge. Consistently high quality, year after year, with unique vintages from regionally sourced grapes.

Awful customer service. Pretentious. They have a way of blaming the customer for everything. Don’t waste your time. They even treat their wine club members with disrespect.
