Wow, what a change. It's sad to see the condition of the store considering it's the only resource on the island for grocery items. Also disappointing that the store doesn't open until 08:30. They used to offer fresh baked goods daily, now only on Saturdays. Overall, this store needs a lot of improvement and I'd make sure to get your grocery items in Bellingham before taking the ferry to the island.

Nice little shop on a very cute little Island! Amazing blueberry cream cheese pastry I think made locally, and amazing walnut (may have had chocolate in them too) cookies just a dollar each! So great, thank you!!

A great little general store for most of your needs. Don't expect a big variety of one item, but in general during our stay on the island we found everything we needed there.

The Islander has pretty much everything we need. They bake their pastries daily (yum), have a great beer, wine, cheese, and chips selection. Nice mix of household items.

We go here weekly and sure sometimes it's well stocked but other times there's hardly anything there. The staff is always kind but everything there is always extra expensive compared to what one could get in town.

This store is a gem. We fully expected to have to go back to Bellingham during our stay on the island for groceries. To our surprise, this store had fresh produce, a nice selection of foods and really pleasant employees. My husband and I are vegan and we shocked by the selection of both healthy (fruits, veggies, beans and grains) and fun (tv dinners, vegan cheeses, veggie burgers, chips) vegan food offerings they had. The owner is a sweet, kind man and the employees are equally delightful. We never needed to take the ferry back over to Bellingham during our stay, which was nice since it gave us more time to enjoy the island.

Cool and funky store, you can definitely tell it is more than a store, it is a community hub and the local made goods next to it were worth a look, picked up some fun finds including two Charley Pride Records! They have most of what you would need and if you poke around some great locally made food goods.

As an islander, having a small convenience grocery store here is so important! The store is owned by Islanders and staff are Islanders as well. All are friendly and very helpful! For the size of the store, they stock a lot of fresh, frozen and canned goods. Basic first aid and medicines usually available. Good selection of fresh brewed coffee and pastries available throughout the day. Places to sit and visit inside of store. TV area with table and seating. News papers sold here, along with all things Lummi Island. Gift store attached with many island artists' beautiful creations. Movie rental area. Also a limited lunch menu of hot dogs and pre-made sandwiches. Large selection of alcoholic beverages on shelves and refrigerated. Prices are higher than in town, but it is a great place to pick up a few things rather than making the trip in to town! ❤️

There aren't many option on the island, so I was pleasantly surprised when they had a great selection of beverages. The gal running the store was super friendly and answered a couple random questions that i had. The store also has a gift shop area with what appeared to have a lot of items created by local artists.

I’ve been visiting the island since I was less than a year old. We would come here everyday on vacations for random snacks and stuff we need. This is just a general store for the “we’re out of milk” or “oops, forgot this” situations. It’s not that bad to take the ferry (most days) for your weekly groceries beyond what the islander has.

Very nice place and friendly staff. Really made me feel welcome on the island when I came out to celebrate my love's birthday! I will be back to Lummi, and when I am I look forward to visiting the Islander.

I think the Islander really is the hub of the island for many established Islanders, most of whom have the time and energy to develop a personal relationship with the owners. Where it suffers is in terms of immediate availability of high quality food. They are working at it, but until quality and selection improve, I am personally unlikely to shop there much.

This store is cold, smells it, carries few groceries and has so so service. The clerk is more interested in talking and being absent from the register. She is oblivious to folks trying to catch the ferry.
