Employees are very friendly and make for a positive atmosphere. On the other hand, when I last visited this store earlier this month(April 2024) with my little niece(7yo), we had made the decision to revamp her small fish tank and once again bring life to her hobby infused heart with an aquarium filled with potential and ideas created by her imagination... With some guidance and professional help to assist and aid in the success of such a possibly overwhelming goal for a 7yo girls mind to wrap around, getting to the point of my story is she is shy and little service was provided in the way of customer service, until i interjected and asked for help for her. I only wish the employees here saw this little girl aimlessly looking at their fish tanks and simply put forth the positive drive by asking a child if they were needing any help would've been encouraging and showing her some love could've really made this an experience she could've owned herself vs having her uncle take over and run the young customer experience that should've led to life long regular enthusiast at this place of business

Love this store! We buy food for our French Bulldog here because it's hard to find good quality dog food in stores. They have everything you could need for all sorts of pets. The staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommendable.

I just stopped to check out the fish section of the store. Healthy fish, beautiful tanks, amazing selection, and outstanding prices. Friendly and informative staff. Will definitely be going back for my fish keeping needs. Totally worth the 1hr 30min drive.

If you spoil your pets like I do, The Pet Works should be your go-to for food, treats, toys, training supplies, beds, etc. If you have fish or reptiles, they are also experts in this area. The staff goes above and beyond to help you with anything you need and the customer service is amazing! I highly recommend Rebecca and her staff, they are the BEST!

I absolutely love going to the Pat works. The people there are always friendly and nice and I especially love Andrea. She helps me out with a lot of my fish keeping questions and has been an absolute blast to work with. She does such a good job at what she does and I am happy that the pet works Has someone who cares just as much as I do for the fish and for the hobby. She is my number one person if I have any questions or concerns.

Very disappointed both times in after just coming to the area. 1st time incredibly rude when inquiring about what types of pets they sell and purchasing mice. 2nd time was even worse and concerned about the knowledge of the staff. We were very interested in purchasing a snake for our daughter. Staff was more interested in telling us what she knew then hearing our history and comfort with a wide range of snakes. She handled and put snake in a bag despite signs of being blue. In addition her care for the snake is arguably very inappropriate and tried to force sell a larger tank not needed as small as the snake was until we got home and transferred to support 2 animals growth and movement, yet was perfectly fine sending home in a small bag. We ended up leaving very disappointed and with a kiddo who is more knowledgeable heartbroken because we were not going to go with the force of tank sell for the snake by someone who clearly had room to grow in snake knowledge in addition to the manager who suggested the forced tank sell without ever coming to talk to us. 2 stars for these 2 experiences is an act of kindness.

This is the perfect pet store. A varied and interesting fish selection, dozens of inverts and reptiles in beautiful bioactive enclosures, a rabbit in a spacious enclosure, and some rodents. All the animals appear to be happy and in perfect health.I am a fish nerd, and was incredibly pleased to see that the fish all look healthy. It is refreshing when a store sees our little aquatic friends as more than just disposable inventory. The care given in this store is obvious. For example: there is wood in all the tanks with plecos; the ottos -- which are notoriously fragile fish -- were in amazing condition. I was pleased to snatch up a school of blue daisy rice fish, which are hard to find elsewhere. Well done!The pictures are of the fish I bought at The Pet Works in my aquarium at home, one week after getting them.

We went to the pet store to get some food for our bearded dragon, Sara was SO helpful today. She gave us lots of tips that we very much appreciated. Such a sweet person and will definitely be back because of her. Thank you Sara your so sweet. We appreciate all your knowledge about all of our animals. Also thanks for the toy for our cat, she loved it.

Always a pleasure to visit this store. Very nice employees who are knowledgeable and friendly. Prices are good. We have found many wonderful aquarium items at this store. We will now buy our fish here as we are having issues with the fish from another store in town.

Made me BUY MY OWN BOX, then the mice i bought ESCAPED in my CAR. I want to support small businesses especially since 99% of the time this company has been great. When i called to rectify the situation they said there was nothing they could do as it HAPPENED OUTSIDE of the store. Now my snake has no food and i wasted 15 dollars on a box& mice… l understand small business can’t compete with petco &how petco provides boxes for live feed but this is ridiculous considering nobody said this box was not ideal for mouse transport and now they’re loose somewhere IN MY CAR. This is a very unfortunate situation since as I previously mentioned 99% of my interactions have been great. But i just can’t support having mice just escaping in my car and my snake losing his dinner EVEN AFTER THEY PUT THE MICE IN THE DANG BOX :(

This is our favorite local pet store here in Longview. Like big box stores they do have a loyalty program for many of their pet food bag purchases, like buy 12 get next bag free. They have lots of fish, and other pets. They didn’t have a great cat litter selection, but food selections for dogs was great. Cats is good, but could be better.

I absolutely love my African Black Knife fish. He's quite the eater on his feeding days. He loves the log he has but I'm excited to upgrade soon! The guys who helped us were super knowledgeable and if they didn't know they just would tell us that they didn't. I love petworks! He just curled up in this to pose as I took a picture. 😁 learning about these guys have been a BLAST

Very knowlegable staff. Good selection for small animals such as hamsters, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Reptiles and frogs too. Always a great stop for healthy tank friends and everything needed for fresh and saltwater fish and plants.

I've been coming here for a few years now. I started as a salt water fish hobbyist. Matt was always helpful and seemed to give solid advice on keeping these fish and corals. But sadly, they haven't been able to keep up on the maintenance of their whole saltwater section. I'd love to see it back thriving once again. It loses 1 star because of that.The rest of the store is always fun to visit. It has the original wooden floors that creek and give you that old town feel. They've got a ton of various pet supplies and animals to check out. Don't miss the reptiles upstairs! Friendly staff is a big plus. Products are nice, but the service is what keeps people coming back! :)

I absolutely love this pet store. Everyone there has always been super nice and helpful. Sarah T. Is amazing, kind, and will go out of her way to make sure you are happy with your purchases. She always has a smile on her face, everytime I go to this pet store I always hope she is there, as she makes the whole shopping experience fun.
