We were recently cruising (off season) on our 28 ft boat, and desperately needed a shower. The state parks on Hood Canal were either closed or did not have a shower. We called several places, and this was the ONLY place that would allow us to take a shower for a reasonable price. THANK YOU, Mike’s Beach Resort! We also stayed here a few years ago, and enjoyed it. Recommended.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mike's Beach Resort, and I can't stop raving about this hidden gem along the coastline. From the moment I arrived, I was enchanted by the breathtaking view that greeted me, and my entire experience exceeded all expectations. The standout feature of Mike's Beach Resort is undoubtedly the incredible view. Waking up to the sight of the sun rising over the ocean was an absolute treat. Whether you're sipping your morning coffee on your room's balcony or strolling along the beach, the view is nothing short of spectacular. It's a serene and picturesque escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. One of the unique experiences that truly set Mike's Beach Resort apart is oyster picking. The resort offers an opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and environment by participating in oyster picking sessions. It's not only a fun activity but also a delicious one as you get to enjoy the freshest oysters right from the source. It's a memory I'll cherish forever. While the Cabin #5 may not be the most spacious, they are impressively equipped and incredibly efficient. Every square foot is maximized for comfort and convenience. The attention to detail in room design is evident, and you'll find everything you need for a comfortable stay. The efficient use of space makes the room feel cozy and welcoming, and I never once felt cramped.

Stayed here last month with my wife and toddler. It was a last minute decision after attending a banjo festival at Hama Hama oyster saloon just down the road. We got in a little late and didn’t get to make much use of any amenities but are now trying to plan another trip back next year. The room was clean and quaint, warm and welcoming. The view could not be improved upon.

When we arrived nobody was on site, it was self check in. Took us a min to find our room and parking is tight. The beds were probably the most comfortable beds I've ever had for a vacation stay.Got some fresh oysters in the early morning. The beach is private to the resort so we were the only ones there, it was super nice to have the pick all to ourselves. My kids enjoyed the playground and the cat wandering around. I enjoyed the quietness of the place.

Lack of compassion from customer service.I don't leave reviews often, let along 1 start reviews. We had a wonderful weekend booked here for our anniversary. Unfortunately, we had a death in the family and could not make our reservation. I reached out to customer service at Mike's for some empathy, and to help reschedule my stay - we were very excited to come here.Their customer service will not refund or reschedule under any circumstances. Their facility is not full (22/32 are open for the following weekend at the time of this writing), and they are not missing out on customers by holding my reservation.Buyers beware, they will keep your money and do not care whatsoever about your life.I will not be staying here in the future and will not recommend to anyone.

I booked the cabin in the woods that's across the street and up the hill from the main resort. My frustration was in the idea that no direction was given to me beforehand, so I drove into the resort area where the driveway and parking are VERY tight. They also didn't mention the steep climb and gravely path up to the cabin.I was fine, but anyone with mobility issues wants to think twice about this unit.Other than that, it was AWESOME!! The cabin is very nice with hardwood flooring, kitchenette, and bathroom that a grown-up can fit into 😁They provided basics+ like dishes, microwave, coffee pot with grounds to make a full pot each morning and a fire pit that had kindling in it as well as a BBQ and the BBQ utensils!!The view was something else, and I could play music when I wanted, but most of the time, I preferred the amazing sounds of nature. They had a free show, and you could buy a freshly BBQ'd burger for $9 with a few other options available.I didn't stay for the show but could hear folks enjoying themselves!!I was too busy laying under the stars and wishing I could live there!! My pup Mae loved it as we had our own little yard area for her to play ball.Sure, there were little things that could be fixed. A cracked window, a janky blind. But the bed was comfy, and I was in nature, so those little things didn't matter muchNearby activities: There's lots to do nearby. Brinnon Marina and the resort itself has a nice dock, people swim, boat, scuba from. They also rent out boats.Safety: I felt very safe, but then I had my dog with me, and she's my guardian.Walkability: There's not much walking on site, but enough to stretch the legs in the morning. Easy drive to tons of beaches and trail heads all along 101Food & drinks: They had the BBQ, which looked BOMB, and the notice said every Saturday. Quilbilly's in Quilcene has really good foodOtherwise, there are a few places within 30 minutes, and Silverdale or Kingston within an hour

This is our new fav place for the 2nd year in a row! It's such a fun place to bring the family. Kids always have a blast and we always meet the greatest people. We love how it's family run and operated so it really feels so welcoming when we stay here. This year, we caught so many crabs off the dock and when the tide is low oysters galore and fun to search for creatures with the kiddos. Also, sometimes they have "Chill and Grill" and live music which is a total highlight!!! Highly recommend this place!!!

Had a wonderful weekend here. Beautiful view. Rustic but has all the amenities needed. Owners are very kind and made sure we were well taken care off. Their Grill and Chill was a nice treat!

Reserved a cabin for two days at the end of April 2022. Website states it was built in the 1950’s… well it looks like it. The pictures on the website do not portray the true condition of this facility. If possible, I would recommend going by this facility and take a good look at it before booking. Our cabin had several issues including several spiders, windows that didn’t function correctly and didn’t have screens which allowed bees to fly into the cabin, mini blinds that didn’t work properly, and toilet clogging without any excessive amount of toilet tissue being used. The cabin actually felt like it was tilting, which might be the reason that the bottom of the front door scrapes along the floor making it stick as you open it. Most concerning, was what appeared to be an electrical issue with the bathroom fan. It didn’t work, and the bathroom light would flash when the wall switch for the fan was flipped on. We were concerned there might be a short in the electrical wiring, which could be a potential fire hazard. Based on this experience and the general condition of this resort we didn’t feel comfortable or safe in staying any longer at this facility, even if we were given a replacement cabin. We decided to leave before staying the second day. The one positive was the water views from the cabin windows, but this wasn’t enough to make up for the negatives. Definitely won’t be recommending this facility to anyone.

Please just don’t come here if you want to have fun. No music, no karaoke allowed even their quiet hours are 11pm-8am. The owners are inconsistent in their words every time people come and complain of other parties. The room is dirty and stinky. The owners for sure treat us differently based on our race and ethnicity.Nearby activities: Crabbing

I was blown away by their glamping. They did a thorough job on details. Fridge was ice cold and all appliances were in new condition. A small heater took the bite out of the night air. Bed was firm but still comfy. Two guys can stay in the larger tent. Futon sofa bed was great and linens were ready and waiting. A short walk away were flush toilets and sink. I really enjoyed the shower, which will drown you in hot water. The shower does not have any hooks or dry changing area so be prepared. Staff stopped by to see if we were happy. No wifi. Barely any signal from T-Mobile or Verizon. Feels off grid. I'll be back.

"Resort" must be a translation error. Nothing about this place says, "hey, im a resort". A more appropriate name could be, "The Fisherman's last gasp"Now, let's be clear: this place is run down and badly needs an update. And based on the living quarters of the manager, I'd say they're capable but refuse. My wife and I had loads of bug bites in the morning... probably because the windows didn't have screens and no locks or latches to fully close them.Bright side: the views are great, the area has cool beach front tables and I really really wanted to like it. Potential. But the fan was rattling and needed some attention, I barely fit into the shower (6'4", 240lbs) not fat, not lean. A showet should accommodate my width just fine. But, alas, it didn't and I couldn't even bend over far enough to get my head wet because space was at such a premium.I did like the 2 person dining table with the gorgeous views. Like I said: Potential. But the mold on the vents and the bugs in the room really didn't keep us around long enough for our 2 night stay. We left asap.2 stars for Potential. 5 star view, 1 star everything else.

Went there to teach a scuba class. The dive spot is great for all levels. Tank fills on site makes things nice and convenient. Lilian was super nice setting us up with tank fills. My only feedback is that when we went the fresh water basin wasn't that appetizing and tanks weren't filled to capacity. Would still be going back there though!!

Nice and friendly here. I called to make the same day reservation on a very busy summer weekend day morning and pretty much every hotel and resort were full. They did not allow reservations for the same day however because she knew I was driving 2 hours she did try to accommodate me and the cabin was still available when I arrived. With no deposit down I cannot say that about very many hotels or resorts anywhere. I thank God that she took a chance because it was the rest and relaxation that I needed at that time.

Very disappointed, I reserved a room for 6 people through Airbnb for $390, they never answered my text through the app to get the code for the lock box, I drove 2 hours to get there, they have an office but there is no one there, in the window there is a tiny post stick note with a phone number to call if there is any questions. I called and explained the lady I needed access to our room, she didn't know who I was, she was not expecting us (nice lady) then she realized they already gave our room to some else... That didn't even had a reservation!!! (3 adults and 3 dogs, nothing against the dogs but I was not going to take a room we're other people are already in it) I had my 3 kids with us and elderly mother in law, tomorrow is our 18th anniversary (yeah we had the hole family to celebrate it, our kids are still small) she was nice to offer 2 tents (they are nice) but I still don't understand how she wanted us to sleep 3 per bed and in different tents with no bathrooms? Then she offer 2 in a room with bathroom and 4 in a tent!?? Still don't get it, I asked for a refund and drive all the way home for 2 hours with a car full of disappointed kids and wife!!! Not good, not recommended, and by the way I'm still $390 short because there is no refund. Please don't waist your money and time.

Old gentlemen working there was quite helpful but the management is not doing a good job at all. We were put in another room than what we have booked online. They asked us to change back to the original room in the morning after the first night(?) however the other room was not even clean yet. The place is at a good spot but not worth your money & time.

First off they gave no directions on how to check in and get key for your cabin. I called 4 times and left voicemails, not one call back. When we got there about 6pm they had a number posted on office door to call for assistance. Which we called and it’s a number to a past employee that now lives in Palm Springs. Wasn’t happy with the customer service and assistance. We were hoping for something a little nicer for sure. Walls were distrusting in the bathroom, like they have never been cleaned. Along with closet doors broken and just laying against a power box. The bed wasn’t bolted to head board and would slide away from wall. The blinds didn’t work to turn them, and the draping is very outdated. The parking there is extremely tight. A very popular dive spot.

We book 2 family rooms for 2 nights at this place. When making my reservation, I was told that each family room is $145 per night. One room has the capacity of 4 people and the other room is 6 people, both rooms have the same prices. When we checked in, the bathroom smelled terrible. One stove didn’t work. The water was very cold and the blankets were super old. The kitchen supplies were also very old and cheap materials.Beside the beautiful view, there is nothing else you can do there. What disappointed me the most was when we received the bill, the total price was much higher than what it should be (at least 20% higher). I asked the owner lady why, she explained that she charged $20 cleaning fee each room (never heard of this) plus $20 extra for each individual stayed in the room except for the first 2 persons (what the point of a family room price for?). Anyway, All the addition fees added to around ~$200 per night. For an old room with terrible smell and bad customer services. It’s NOT WORTH the money at all. You can find a much better place with the same price and better customer services. Don’t come to this place.

Mike's Beach Resort is a beautiful location on the banks of Hood Canal, about 10 miles North of the town of Lilliwaup, Washington. We stayed in a rustic cabin that contained two double beds, a small bathroom with a small shower, small sink and small toilet area, along with a small kitchen with a two burner electric stove, small sink, small refridgerator/freezer and a small outdoor charcoal BBQ. During low tide, there are oyster beds directly in front of the cabins that are legal to harvest, with the approved Washington State shellfish license. Parking is a premium and there is only room for one vehicle per cabin. It is secluded and a nice and quiet stay.

We just spent Christmas here and we all had a great time! The cabins are cute and cozy - but the view is what will keep us coming back for years to come. All the cabins sit right on the beach with unobstructed views if the Hood Canal. Plenty of outdoor seating and nice large fire pits were perfect for the 2 nights we were there. AND THE OYSTERS! WOW! What a fun experience going out at low tide and learning about the oysters and eating some right on the beach with a bottle of champagne - that is Northwest living at it's finest! Mike's is rustic, peaceful, stunningly beautiful and we are definitely going back in the summer to enjoy kayaking and pedal boats! New favorite spot for a great price! Thanks Mike's and see you soon!

First thing to note is that parking for the beach cabins can be pretty tight. It was busy for the 4th of July weekend but it was fun. Friday night the quiet hours were definitely not adhered to, but things calmed down the next couple nights. The cabin was clean and had most everything we needed. Note that they are all a little different, and not shown on the website. The fridge was really small, and there wasn't an oven like was shown in the photo. The beach was fun for the kids and we were able to find some clams to enjoy (not big oyster fans). It was a great get away for the family and fun place to watch fireworks for the 4th. Just a few minor things (noted above) kept me from giving it 5 stars.

We stay there for the Valentine's weekend, never expected it to be the snowiest days in decades but it was a very nice experience, really enjoyed the weekend there, like being transported to a far away land, spent the time relaxing. We stayed in a cabin, yes the installations are not new construction, you will find some cosmetic details, but everything was very clean and they even put little touches for Valentine's day, including chocolates, Iliana really makes an effort for the guest to feel comfortable and welcome, we liked our weekend there and will come back for sure.

I think it is more a 3.5 stars. The place is decent, if not a bit run down. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice place. But, it could use some repairs and upgrades. We were in #8 and the floor was unlevel, the bath floor is rotten. But, on the other hand, the place is super clean. They are following the CDC rules. I just wish they would do the needed repairs and upgrades. I know it's tough to run a resort in these times. The place is rustic with great views. And it has lots of charm. But we won't be back.
