I really can’t say enough about how fantastic our experience here was!My husband and I went in on a Sunday interested in purchasing a curly hair tarantula. We were greeted by two friendly staff members who were happy to grab two curly hairs from the back and show them to us. The employees explained all the basic care and showed us their best recommendations for setup/care products. They were super helpful but also very respectful in letting my husband and I take our time to decide what was right for us. After about 45 minutes of deliberation the staff were still ready and happy to assist us.When we went to pay there was a tip option, which I actually appreciated because we felt that a tip was well earned for all the knowledge shared by the staff. The employee we were talking to probably answered at least 30 questions for us. Additionally, the prices of the animals and other products were extremely reasonable and lower than other stores we had been to.We are beyond happy with our curly hair tarantula and it’s setup. The spider is super active and absolutely beautiful. I want to add that we were not completely decided on buying a tarantula that day - we had done our research but were in no rush to buy an animal. But after talking to the employees and having our questions answered, we felt much more confident in our choice and the staff made us feel fully equipped to properly care for a tarantula. The staff are not trying to be salespeople and push for sales - instead they are trying to provide the customer with knowledge which is so much more valuable to everyone involved, especially the animals. We did not feel rushed or pressured to buy anything.If you are looking for people with a passion for the hobby, a place where beginner owners are not judged, and stellar customer service, you need to visit the Spider Shoppe!!!

i can't say enough good things about these folks! i've purchased 5+ tarantulas online and this store is actually where i got my very first tarantula :') every purchase has been pleasant and since i live across the country, shipping is the only option, but my babies were all packaged with care & arrived safe and healthy. i even received freebies with some orders like tweezers, stickers, and air fresheners. the support team is also very friendly and responsive to texts / communication when preparing for shipment. just had to leave a review because this store has been a huge part of my experience in the tarantula hobby so far & i love shopping here! This is the place to go for Fun and Excitement! You get into a very well stocked store with Everything you can think of to habitat your new room mate and make sure they are happy! Happy individuals Thrive! Know what you are getting into and the commitment you are making to be responsible for another's life. The staff are great! Ask questions, talk to the owner Tyler, he is Professional and Knows His Stuff and wants you to pick the Right exotic for you. Displayed are many occupied enclosures so you can better understand how to set up. Always research a pet before buying and ask yourself if you're ready for the commitment and the amazing world of exotics, then go to the Spider Shoppe and fall in love 🕷️!!!!

Shop sells wild caught jumping spiders, maybe others. So if you get a female chances are you have a gravid spider and they don’t sell fruit flies to feed the babies they provide. Do not use this store. Go to a breeder. Unless you want hundreds of babies running around your house.Response to owner - I did not look online, I went to the physical store. If something is listed online it should be posted in the store. I purchased two jumpers. One big and one small. Was told the smaller was younger. Not true. They are both gravid, one is just smaller. If they are WC, how do you know they are younger? She has not molted. Just laid an egg sac. Never told they were WC or I would not have purchased them. No info on A frame sign outside either. Was not told they were WC, just that you only had females. Now I have a lot babies, less the ones running around my house. The smaller girl’s babies are just reaching I2 and are starting to leave the nest. The one that had the first wave of babies has laid yet another egg sac. Which leaves me with potentially 400+ babies total. And you don’t sell fruit flies to feed them. If you sell WC people need to be aware. The reason I went to your shop is you are local and I wanted to keep my shopping local. These babies also can not be released here as they are native to southern and eastern US. So please explain to me what I should do, given this situation. Your shop has put me in a bad position. Please advise.

I ordered a Mature Malr Orange Baboon Tarantula (my second Tarantula and first OBT) from here on Tuesday and it shipped on Wednesday and got here Thursday, if I ever get the urge to order another Tarantula online I will definitely do it from here.Best place for all of your Tarantula needs

I have been searching for fire bellied toads for weeks with no luck. I was able to find my fire belly toads here! Hannah was great- she showed us around the shop and answered all my questions about other pets! The animals here are in great condition unlike at certain chain pet stores . The fact that the employee was friendly , knowledgeable and approachable made me so happy! I’m definitely going to be a regular customer here !

If I could give this store more than 5 stars I would. My boyfriend and I come in here on a regular basis and we absolutely love the selection of products and reptiles at the store. The prices are super affordable and they always have items in stock. The customer service is amazing as well. Everytime we go in I believe the workers name is Hannah, she is so friendly, knowledgeable, and always helps us with our needs. Also the gentleman who has long dark hair and wears a beanie, I forgot his name, is super friendly and knowledgeable as well. My boyfriend has bought 3 geckos from them and they’re all beautiful and healthy. I highly recommend coming here for all of your supply needs, questions, and if you’re interested in buying a reptile as a pet. Thanks Spider Shop!!!

I've gone to this store in person 3 times and have enjoyed myself each time! It's not too big and not too small. I find it fits a niche for some lovers of insects and other bugs, as well as some reptiles/amphibians!If you ever want to work with smaller creatures, the Spider Shoppe has many choices for tanks and containers with built in air holes, and with magnet or clasp lids, and amazing options of different soils and plants and other things to make sure your little friends are enriched.

Incredible place, friendly and knowledgeable staff, very reasonable prices (cheaper than petco/petsmart usually!), and they actually take care of their animals. Every animal I saw looked healthy, the enclosures were all appropriate and well kept. Please support this place! I know I'll be going here for all my snake supplies instead of petsmart.

I walked in, knowing next to nothing about keeping tarantulas or reptiles/amphibians. And the employees were very knowledgeable and helpful, I got everything I needed for my first Chaco golden knee tarantula and three White's tree frogs. I will be coming back here in the future when I need to re-tank my pets as they grow I to juveniles then adults. I recommend this shop to anyone they have a good selection and they are very healthy creatures! I got a whole setup, they have everything you will need to keep your pet happy and thriving.

The spider shoppe! This place was awesome! My partner, son, and myself went in here with out much experience or knowledge on the subject of spiders as we're new to the hobby and husbandry of tarantulas and Hannah helped us and she was absolutley phenomenal at her job. She was so kind and helpful, she took the time to explain and ensure we understood what we purchased as well as made sure we were completely set up for our new pets. This place was a blast and a huge thank you to the wonderful and extremely helpful staff for helping us out so much and helping me make my partners dreams come true you guys absolutley rock!!

A Family Adventure Like No Other!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐We had a blast at Spider Shoppe! The staff were super friendly and really knew their stuff. Our kids were fascinated by all the spiders and exotic pets. They even got to interact with some of them! The place was clean and well-kept, and you could tell the animals were well cared for. Such a unique and educational experience for the whole family. We can't wait to go back! Highly recommend!

I've been wanting a tarantula for over a decade, and thank goodness for this place. I went down there on a whim after I found them online just to see what they had. I was impressed with how broad the selection was in such a tidy little shop. The critters were in good shape and well taken care of. Like I said, I didn't plan to buy, but I saw a juvenile Chaco Golden Knee and my lil heart soared. I had to do it.I feel like a got a good deal on him, which also covered a nice well-appointed acrylic enclosure with substrate and hide (that may not be the norm, and it wasn't free, but it was a fair price for all included). I am very very happy, even though my spouse is less enthusiastic.I was a little scared when my boy molted two days after I brought him home, which means he had a bumpy/stressful car ride during deep premolt. I wasn't happy about that, but I chalk that up mostly to being a nervous new keeper. I stayed up late watching him molt and he made it through without a hitch and looks beautiful. I think that speaks to his care before I brought him home. I wish I would have known, but it's not like these little guys spin a little webbed sign that says "I'm about to molt!"Glad to have a specialty shop within a half hour from home, and will definitely be back. I'm already thinking about finding a nextdoor neighbor for my little guy!Edit: Just to add, the staff was very friendly. I didn't know they were closing early that day, and I showed up not long before closing time. Doesn't matter what business you're in, it's annoying when customers show up right before closing, and I really try not to be that guy. They didn't bat an eye and seemed happy to set me up. Good people :)

I am really excited to have this store open in my neck of the woods. They said they have only been open in that location for 9 days. I took my people in today to look around. I was really, really impressed. Not only do they have all things tarantula but also an excellent selection of reptiles and supplies. I have snakes so I will be back for frozen mice, substrate, tank decor etc. The pricing is better than the area chain petstores. And it's a plus to support local. The best part was the customer service which was above and beyond, friendly, informative and fun. I held a tarantula and got to look at a bunch of baby tarantulas. We did bring one home! :)

It is a neat store in idea, but space and service it failed. There is not enough space to move around safely. When we were there (group of 3), 3 other people in the store, it was over crowded. We had to move around and shift around just to not be in the way. When I was asked what I was in for, I asked about Jumping spider I was told they had one in the back and she sa I d she would be right with me, she never came back. I waited around another 10 minutes and nothing, no employee was out front, no one said anything. So after about 10-15 min. I left. Sad because I had high hopes.

I love the spider shoppe. They are always so friendly and kind and let's me know when shipment come in for crickets! And when we are given less than suppose too they always make it up. They have everything you need to start your own enclosures and cute little hides. They have merchandise for their shoppe and live animals that they rake very very great care of! If I have a question about reptiles or arachnids they are very knowledgeable and don't make you feel like your questions are stupid they answer you with so much great info. Overall my favorite place. Thank you Tyler for creating this wonderful space for reptile and arachnid lovers.

I walked in today not knowing much about tarantulas. The young lady with short hair and the young man with long hair were very helpful and very kind. I had the intention of buying 2 but ended up buying 4 tarantulas. Nice shop, good people. I'm very pleased and will be back again for more. Nice to have a local spider shoppe.

I am not exaggerating when I say I wanted to scream in joy when I entered the store. Don't let its modest size fool you; there are so many treats in this store. They've got a nice selection of substrate, enclosures, decor, and little friends. I'm very happy to see an exotic pet store like this near my neighborhood!

I rarely write reviews, but I really want to take a minute to talk about how awesome Spider Shoppe is. Everyone who works here is extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and they clearly are very passionate about the animals they care for and sell. All the animals are treated with such care - I have actually cried after seeing how the tarantulas are kept at most Petcos, so to see a place that puts so much effort into making sure its creatures are well cared for is so encouraging. I had zero tarantulas a few months ago and now I have 15 (a mix of a few adults, some juveniles, and lots of slings), and I attribute my confidence in being a steward for these buddies 100% to the expert advice I've received from Spider Shoppe. And it's just honestly such a welcoming environment and a nice place to hang out: I go in at least once a week to pick up crickets (and often walk out with another tarantula, tbh), and it's always a pleasant experience chatting with the staff. They're also great with my kids, who beg to come with me every week to go see all the critters. And as if all this wasn't enough, last time I was in I mentioned I was getting myself a Mexican Stout Leg as an early birthday present and Tyler took the time, energy and thought to pick out an extra little gift for me. I just can't say enough good things about Spider Shoppe and I'm SO glad they set up shop in my neighborhood! Thanks! :)

Such a great experience every time I've been here! The store is well-stocked and organized, and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Every time I go in I ask to see so many different species of tarantula and the team is so patient with me taking forever to make up my mind. The tarantulas I have bought from here have been healthy and in good shape. I recently found a tarantula I wanted but wasn't listed on their website as one that was for sale; one quick call to Tyler and I was able to take my new T home! I will definitely be going back to this store. I highly recommend the Spider Shoppe!

I visited the store after making a purchase online. Hunter was super helpful, explaining everything I needed to know about the 2 tarantulas I had and making sure I had what I needed for the one I purchased there. The store itself was super clean and well organized with enclosures, decor and substrate toward the front and exotic animals towards the back. There was tons of available parking and the store was easily navigable with a full size stroller.
