DO NOT BRING YOUR ANIMALS HERE. I have three dogs and have spent thousands of dollars at the store on grooming, appointments, food, and toys over a course of 20 years. Mind you I have never received no info about my dog having a behavior issues, too complicated to cut, or any of the sort. Long story short, I try to make my dog a grooming appointment and they blocked me online and would not answer my phone calls for two months. When I finally called customer service to inquire about this issue they informed me my dog was too old. And they recommend me taking him somewhere else. He’s a Shitzu dog, 11 years old with no behavioral or health problems. Yes he’s a senior dog but shouldn’t give groomers a right to discriminate against my dog. Mallory one of the Managers told me we don’t have any groomers that cut senior dogs here at this location and you should continue to bring your dog someplace else. I was in complete shock and mortified. How awful to tell a customer of 20 years that. If could give them a zero stars I would.

Update. Sofia Has left, new groomer hurt my pup and didn't even tell me. $300 at emergency vet. Gave her a terrible and amature haircut. I'm still upset a month after incident.Our groomer Sofia is wonderful, I look forward to bringing missy to her again!

One of the worst experience ever. Corporate will be notified. My dog is a Pomeranian and they shaved her coat !! It took me 9 months to grow her hair out. This place ruined my dogs hair and then refused to refund me the money. And marked my dog as not well behaved dog and that’s she’s not a good fit for their establishment. I wish I read the reviews online before making appt at this or any of their locations . Manager is useless. She had no explanation. She refused to give me her name. Grooming is horrible . Service horrible. Prices overpriced .

I like this pet store better than the Tacoma mall location for their fish selection. All petco's are unique. The Tacoma location has better animals (hamsters, birds, etc) for sale than this location.

Many gold fish! Grandma wanted a fish for her birthday and so she got this one that she named peaches. The Petco dude hooked it up. Wait that sounds bad.... delivered us the right fish to our hands and hearts!

Absolutely love this location. The staff is very friendly, and they are very organized as well. The supplies and products are laid out well, and everything is extremely easy to find. Their prices aren't too bad either, and I always shop here. You can also adopt cats from here on certain days, and it's always fun to see little cats and get a smile. They also have many other animals, and I'd recommend this place for anyone looking to find a new furry friend

Lost of new staff and management have greatly improved this location. We stopped coming to the Lakewood Petco about a year ago due to poor service and overall quality compared to others. We stopped in last night and were absolutely pleased with our experience. My wife and I were joyfully greeted, the two girls back in the fish department were extremely helpful. Young man helped us with crickets didn’t have to ask. The cashier even gave us some free treats for our dog. We will definitely be coming back to this store. HUGE improvement.

I recently purchased reptiles at this location. Was helped by Megan. Very professional and knowledgeable.As a new owner of reptiles, I very much appreciated the time she took to educate me to ensure that not only would I have a good experience as an owner, but that the reptiles would find a happy home and would be properly cared for. Megan clearly has a wealth of knowledge on this subject and I much appreciated the time she took to share some of that knowledge with me.Glad to report that the reptiles appear to be happy and adjusting well to their new home. Thanks Megan!

Knowledgeable staff, when I finally did receive assistance. I gave them a three star rating because no one greeted me when I walked past 3 employees. Two of three we talking amongst themselves in the direction I was walking just as I passed the first employee at the checkout.Knows their products, not much quality with customer service. Now I go to Petsmart just on the opposite side of the shopping center.

The absolute last time I will ever step foot in this Petco. Been told for 3 days to come back tomorrow. I've come back tomorrow 3 times for a aquarium filter that is either on the truck (for 3 days) or invisible. The store is full of people to help yet incompetence seems more likely than customer service. I asked at least 5 people for help and still walked out empty handed and frustrated without my 50$ filter. Never again. Do better Petco. Just do better.

Always get the help I need and any questions or advice answered. Marissa is an exceptionally helpful associate, she is very professional and assists me with all of my pet care needs. I would just promote her if were the company because she is the nicest most knowledgeable associate I've ever met.

I went for some supplys for my aquarium. The whole heater section was empty. I found someone that had no problem going to get one from the back. My only beef is i walked around and around the store looking for about 15 minutes and no one inquired to help.

Staff were very good to my dog, and said they enjoyed working with her. They did a great job with all phases of her grooming, and she even seemed to enjoy being there. I'll use them again next month.

Healthy fish selection. I have learned a lot and it's made our experience at this store very enjoyable. They helped us set up our 55gallon saltwater tank for the first time.Extremely knowlagble staff over all. Sometimes they get busy you just have to be patient because they take their time with customers. We never feel rushed. Grooming is also very enjoyable here.

Was an ok visit. Stopped in for some glider food and a new water bottle. Reasonably prices but not much interaction from the checker. Pesto the kitten was more happy to see and talk to us than the checker.

Staff is decent. However, the product is often times overpriced, and the more I learn about certain animals (mainly reptiles and fish) the more I have learned how poorly treated these animals are whole in Petco care. I have often times seen snakes with stuck shed (which comes from poor living conditions) and animals that just seem to be in poor health. I will say that the store stays neat and presentable.

I did not get the associate's name, but I was looking for some cat items, and the associate was very knowledgeable about what I needed. I was honestly very pleasantly surprised!!! Will definitely be coming back to this store. Prices are a little high, but that is how it is in all of these kinds of stores.

Yikes! Customer service has taken a very hard downward spiral at this location. I will NEVER return here. I've given not one, not two but three chances to this location to get it together over the past 6 months and it just keeps becoming more and more of a joke. I hope whoever controls this location is reading these ratings and really does look into the staff they have hired or whoever has been managing them. It's an embarrassment to the brand and to Lakewood to have such BAD service coming out of an establishment that plays a big roll in animal welfare in the Lakewood area for pet owners. I hope if you are looking into coming to this location and you are reading my rating, to go to Petsmart which is just right around the corner with friendly, educated and skilled employees who know what they are doing.

Really healthy nice bettas, excellent fish selection, and the staff really know about fish or at least make you think they do ha. They also have a good brand of training treats for dogs that we get here. They have a lot of products for any animal you might have.

There is never the same person as the last time I went in there. Huge turn over in staff for the last few years. I am extremely upset that they do not carry live feeder rats any more but further more they can not keep up there frozen feeder rats inventory either. If you are not going to keep up your inventory then stop selling reptiles. 9 times out of 10 they do not have the large frozen rat that I need for my reptile.
