Worst grooming experience! Inexperienced to deal with animals. My dog never had this much anxiety as what this young brunette gal here put her through. Usually, I take my dog in, they put a leash on and take her to the back. But here! The girl goes out and talk and talk and talk and touches, and continue to agitate her while talking some more.To the point the dog no longer wanted to be touched or be in that place. Then when my dog finally squealed loudly she goes…oh and for that we can’t take her anymore. Goodness gracious, she reminded me of those really annoying characters in a movie (The annoying sales clerk). Almost three years and my dog has NEVER reacted with such anxiety toward anyone. She does not understand animals and shouldn’t be allowed near people’s pets. I’ll be surprised if somebody’s dog doesn’t end up biting her these days.I’ll take her back to my usual place. They’re more expensive but my dog is comfortable there.

My two dogs are not the easiest to get their nails trimmed. The grooming salon staff at Petco are always super kind, caring and compassionate towards my boys. I trust my dogs in their care.

The workers were very nice but the service they provided was disappointing at the least. To start, the prices were very high compared to places we've been before, almost $100 for this visit. Not only did they fail to do as we had initially asked but left our pup looking unfinished and choppy. As an alternative to where we had been going before, this was a very unfortunate outcome.

Was here with my friend a few days ago and we seen a lot and I mean A lot of expired pet supplies and lots of stuff in totally wrong spots? From experience and everything I would not recommend petco for your pets if you really love them.

Did an online order box was messed up and the product is missing pieces. Would have been nice if they had checked to see it all was there. Normally I wouldnt mind managing but this piece waa critical to feeding a sick reptile and I cant just buy it alone.

I would put 0 if I could , the grooming section has always taken my dog in, he has always had a spot ok his nose that looks reddish and they took him last time without an issue. First they said they wouldn’t take him in because of his nose , I told the lady they had take him in before like that then she lied telling me oh but it looks worse today, when last time it wasn’t even her who saw my dog… I told her you wouldn’t know would you? And she proceed to say but I can sell you washing products to do it yourself.So after being lied they still expect me to buy ? What a horrible customer service , the part of them lying like I wouldn’t remember or questioning my intelligence is what bothers me the most

Their pet food prices are CRAZY EXPENSIVE!!! I usually buy a 16lb bag of Purina for $26-$32 but they charge $56!!! I won't return.... Their corporate board of directors are clearly out of touch if they think $56 is reasonable!!!

No public restroom. I'm disabled and require a public restroom, especially when driving up from another city. Most other locations have public restrooms, but I guess the lakewood petco is just too ghetto.

After not receiving a phone call back in the grooming department for two months I got concerned and called customer service curious why no one’s returning my phone calls or answering them and have blocked me online with no explanation for booking appointments. Mallory, the manager told me not to bring my dog to the grooming department at this location any longer because my dog was a senior. She informed me they do not have groomers to cut senior dogs.(so I guess you have to be a puppy or middle age to have your dog cut there) I have been a customer of Petco for 20 years and has spent thousands of dollars on Toys, grooming appointments, food, and immunizations. I was shocked and mortified especially coming from a manager.

Management has been instructing employees to recommend tiki cat food products for ferrets when they see customers purchasing marshalls kibble. This is inappropriate and out of line. we were recommended Tiki Cat Carnivore specifically which contains pea and legume ingredients which have a direct link to the formation of bladder stones in ferrets, there are few tiki cat products that do not contain legumes, and they are still not an appropriate food to feed + do not meet nutritional requirements.I work in exotic veterinary medicine and have run a ferret rescue for 5 years and have seen first hand the ramifications of feeding foods containing legumes. Bladder stones are extremely painful and require expensive surgery to remove.this recommendation is also in violation of Marshalls warranty for any ferrets purchased at the store and Petco's relationship with the company.I know nobody likes Marshalls as a company, but these ferrets were bred and raised to be fed their kibble. Marshalls ferret food is good for seniors and ferrets with GI disorders because of this, if you don't want to feed Marshalls, freeze dried raw foods like Stella and Chewys cat food nuggets are a much better recommendation.Please do not listen to anybody recommending tiki cat products if you have ferrets or intend to purchase ferrets from this location.Note: Marshalls ferret food USED TO contain peas, but the recipe has changed and none of their kibble products contain them anymore.

My dog has short hair and we are very easily able to bathe him. I book a grooming appt to have his ears cleaned, nails trimmed, expressed and all. Even pay extra for the nail buffing. So I was severely disappointed when picking him up, not only were his dew claws and back nails not even trimmed, his ears were not clean. He also seemed a bit traumatized acting in a way I had not seen before. I most definitely would not recommend Shelby the groomer, and would advise her to look for a job she may enjoy more and is capable of doing. Another groomer had to finish her work as she didn't even come out to apologize or take responsibility. Maybe you were having a bad day, but you have to own up to your mistakes. The cashier on the other side was apologetic and friendly, but I will never bring my dog to Petco again. A waste of not only my money, but my time.

Please do not buy your fish here. I bought a fish from here and a week later my whole tank was filled with ick. Killing off the fish that I bought plus my whole ecosystem. So now I’m left with an empty tank. Thanks

Tina is amazing. Her handling of the dogs and paying attention to how they react to things like hair dryers so the dogs have the best possible experience goes above normal customer service. I trust her and that means a lot. She is one of only 2 groomers I will let near my dog.

First time here. Usually go the the Tacoma location. Groomers are nice. Eleiyce (sp) works on the store side was not very nice. I asked if there was a bathroom and she did not look up while answering my question. I stood there for a few seconds to see if she would make eye contact with me. She did not. I then asked if she can show me where all the dog food were and she said it’s all along the back wall. This time she did look at me but was not happy to help with her grumpy face. Will not return to shop but will come back for the groomers.

Haven't had a bad experience yet, but special props to Dan in aquatic life. He is always so kind and willing to share tips and advice. I go here often to buy crickets for my bearded dragon, but got a couple more fish today for my son's tank and was most pleased with the service I received. Their tanks seem cleaner than some other stores in the area, and I owe it to the pride that these associates have in providing an exceptional deal of care in what they do.

Love Petco. I joined their monthly reward club to save 10% on food, treats and it gives you deals on grooming and other services. They have the cutest clothes, leashes, harnesses, collars etc. Better brands than the other big-name chain store that sells similar products.

So! I just realized that my post was not here when I checked today however I will re-post. A few months ago around April 26 from my notes I met a Daniel Wiley and a Rae Tillinghast and they were incredibly helpful in choosing food, decorations, additional fish tanks, and fish that could safely get along with the fish I had. Letting me know which tanks were too small to house the fish I liked and recommending other, helping me through a snail bomb of ammonia (one died and killed several fish) and what to use to decontaminate etc. I spent well over a $1,000 at PETCO in a few days but I know I got what I needed. Therefore, very appreciative and I will be back! I just keep getting more fish tanks it seems, the addiction is strong lol. They were both very patient and helpful. Without them I do not know what I would have done with the fish or aquariums. Probably killed off all my fish in ignorance. Regardless, I am appreciative! (^_^)///
