Josh front service manager helped me a great deal tonight by going back to the bakery a getting a special order from for the extra large cupcake I needed to pick up tomorrow for my son's 6th birthday. Most of the Safeway pharmacies give great customer service. The Marvin Road store did not today. They were out of the RX I needed, which I understand. It was how they treated me which was the problem. They did not say hello, no eye contact, demanded information like a robot, told me they were out. Call another store. Which I did. The other store really wanted to talk to them, but again, robotic behavior. Nothing humanizing. It’s demoralizing to be treated like “nothing”.The other store was nice on the phone, I could tell they were busy but they still were cordial. I am sure the staff don’t care about this review either. Too bad. We are all here because we are people and matter.

Went in for a parfait, they hadn't made them that morning.I asked the guy working if they had parfaits at this location,He said they must be in the back making them and he'd go check.He went back and a couple minutes later came out with a parfait.I asked if he made that specifically for me, he said yes.This man went above and beyond to make sure his customers were happy.I've never had this type of service before.

We usually buy our dog food from here but not anymore after what happened! They sell expired dog food! There should not be any reason for me to check expiration date, but oh well. My dogs had explosive diarrhea for 2 days!

I don't know how this location has a 4.1 rating. It's probably from older reviews. I will mention the rudest, nastiest employee I've ever encountered at a Safeway - April.This location is now overrun by homeless drug addicts that Olympia moved into the forme Hawk's Prairie Day's Inn motel, and now it's called Maple Court, and that cost taxpayers 24 million dollars. Crime is out of control. Surveillance systems in every parking lot. The prices here are higher than every grocery store in the area. Almost never anything on sale anymore.The store is dirty, and they have two bathrooms in the Starbucks area that are used frequently for drug use or employees that are too lazy to use the employee restrooms. I don't know who uses the unlocked restrooms more. Drug addicts or employees. Super high employee turnover. Diminished quality. Price gouging. Do not shop here. Go to Costco or WinCo.

Went to buy a cake for my mom's birthday. Bakery is supposed to be open until 7. Asked multiple employees and found out bakery staff went home early at 6. That's fine but NO ONE could open the bakery case to grab a cake for us. We didn't want anything special, just a cake as it was already made.I can't believe there wasn't a single person there who could put a cake in a box. My kids were excited to pick it out, but unfortunately I have to come back without them now, because we need it in the morning.Honestly it's just ridiculous that you can't get a cake anytime they are open, but the fact that they can just randomly close early with no one to just put a ready made cake in a box is INSANE.

My go to grocery store locally, second to Costco. Great for supplementing things you can’t buy in bulk or don’t need in bulk at Costco. Staff is usually very friendly but they always seem understaffed. Check out lines are frequently long and slow.

Not one of the newer stores in the area but still a go to spot to get quick stuff. Because it's smaller than most, the selection is a little light in new brands and in the produce area however you can still get your staple shopping done here no problem. The staff is nice and they keep the store really clean too.

Self check out there is a blonde lady that is rude and no customer service skills. I accidentally scanned the wrong item, she came over grabbed it out of my hand and scream no you scan this and I said no I want this and then took the items I said I didn’t want and slammed down hard on the counter. Won’t be going here again!!

Although they're pretty accommodating, they left their prices high after the pandemic supply-chain problem quieted down. I can hardly afford to eat now. It's the only full-service grocery store within 5 miles. Beware shopping on Sundays -- very crowded. And don't buy their packaged "Cinnabons". They are NOT Cinnabons.

Deli is rarely open in the morning, severely under staffed. When they are open they are unprepared and "out" of so many ingredients for breakfast sandwiches and burritos. Sorry but how does a grocery store run out of the most basic ingredients? Management needs work. Troy and Stephanie are very kind, staff is amazing. But you can tell they're overwhelmed with the lack of support!

Love the BOGO deals! I mainly shop Safeway for their sales and promotions.The location on Marvin is very close to my house so its easy to pop in for a few needed items. Their sales are awesome but to shop for everything I need, it's just too expensive. So, we needed shrimp to make a pasta dish. I always look for the best deal possible...I do the math. Anyway, I chose two types of shrimp. Both were raw and on sale. When I was ringing them up at the self checkout, the wrong price was shown. I asked for assistance and was told that I am wrong and that the sales paper did not show this item on sale. I rebutted that they were on sale and that I chose them for that reason. Once again, she told me that I was wrong. She hastily told me to go find them and take a picture to show her an item that wasn't on sale! I was in disbelief. I grabbed my purse and left my basket while I went to find the shrimp that I knew was on sale. I took 2 pictures and produced them to her. She still insisted that they should not be on sale. I spent 180.15 on this pop in and out trip. What ever happened to being nice and customer service? Shouldn't someone have been called to do a price check? Anyway, I bought them and made an awesome shrimp and creamy garlic sauce over bowtie pasta. 😋 Yum!

Personally, I think Safeways one of the best around. Really, nothing I've visited in Thurston Mason or Kitsap county would merit five stars. I know there are supermarkets outside of Washington State that rank probably as well, but not here. Prices are excellent, and they are well stocked.

Safeway is in a very convenient location but the prices are more than shops around like Winco or Walmart. The bathrooms here always have a wait (1 person bathrooms) and they are always dirty. The store it self is always nice never smells or anything. This is a place I would stop in to get one or two things not grocery shop. Winco is much more affordable for the same things.

Cannot even begin to explain how dissatisfied and disappointed I am in this specific Safeway. The managers will not do anything about any complains I have had. And the prices are getting ridiculous. Only thing I appreciate about all Safeways is the occasional great deal you need to have the app to get.

What a nice place! Every time I come here people ask if I need help. Very clean, friendly with great smiles. The employees in the Starbucks in this store are also very nice.Not at all like my local Safeway stores in California.

Safeway has good, quality food, but its prices are only affordable if you have a Safeway account. On the other hand, I come here not only because it's nearby, but because it stocks a variety of products that are great for cooking. Safeway also has delicious little ready-to-eat (edited from "wear" haha) temptations that keep our household coming back, like their cream puffs....dang, and Rum Raisin ice cream. Oh yeah, vegetables too, at their takeout counter--their crunchy pea salad. Oh--then, on the way out, get a Caramel Macchiato at the Starbucks. Then shop the next week at Winn's so you don't become poor and diabetic.

April is awful. she is so disrespectful and rude. i’ve never had a bad experience with any other person there or any other safeway or store for that matter. she is the only unfriendly person i’ve encountered there and she’s a store manager. really goes to show what kind of people they’re putting in charge. she is on such a horrible power trip, shes tried kicking my husband out before saying they were closed and it was 10pm and they close at 1am.edit: if the store really does close at 10pm then google should be updated because it says 1am (;

Although the deli guy drug his feet and looked like he didn't even care if he served us or not and forgot a label on one of our cold cuts,the cashier made it a 5 star visit. She ran back to the deli got a price label in a heart beat, but the way she bagged our groceries so that all our food stayed cold on a long ride home on a hot day! Thank you for your excellent work!

Often things that are on sale are not available. Often things that are listed at a certain price on ad are not marked at that price on the shelf. Often things that are listed on the shelf as on sale do not show they are on sale at checkout. When I point these things out to staff they are cooperative but when I've called Safeway they are not very helpful.

All of the Safeways have new carts. They only work in a area of the store parking lot. If you go out of the range it locks up. It starts beeping really loud to warn you before, so you can back up into the working area. Better security system's in the parking lots. I feel safer going shopping. Just wish they had more people working at the cash register, so many people need jobs, and there's mostly self check outs.

I hate coming here because I get profiled by the employees like I'm gonna steal something . They just glare at me like I'm one of the people that come and steal stuff. Lol. I've decided I'm going to make a game of it instead of get upset. So I pick up items and walk in circles and then place them in strange places behind things and try my best to look as Suspicious as possible if I notice they r profiling me when I walk in. Then I make sure I pay with all 1 dollar bills and count them out super slow to the clerk ( so long as there is nobody waiting in line behind me)

Have been shopping here for 10yrs and watched the area get more and more questionable. Wish they would open a larger store across the freeway, but it doesn't look like that would happen anytime soon. Hard to say what this place will look like in a few years as Olympia keeps pushing their problems upon Lacey.
