So, I want to start by saying this is not at all about the grooming department. I love them, Kai is the best groomer with my dogs.HOWEVER, I want to exclaim to people not to buy any reptile from here. I got a bearded dragon at the end of October. She was diagnosed with parasites (coccidia and round worms) as well as atadenovirus, which is a lifelong illness for your bearded dragon and is contagious to all reptiles, bearded dragons are the most susceptible. I have been fighting for my bearded dragons life. We have been to the vet twice, we have one more dose of antibiotics on Wednesday but she is losing more and more weight despite.The vet said that this was specifically caused by petco and the breeder they get their reptiles from. I’m holding out for her doing everything I can, but the situation is looking bleaker. This has caused a prolapsed cloaca that I had to fix, as well as walking limitations and now she is not taking in enough calcium because she’s not healing quick enough which is resulting in MBD despite all of her husbandry being correct. Petco offered no help when I called in January, outside of referring me to the vet.If she survives, she will always have physical limitation and I wanted to warn any pet parent at the possible livelihood of their reptile. The photos are in order from when I got her to where we are now despite medical intervention and aggressive treatment. I’m syringe feeding her to make sure she is getting the appropriate nutrients

Getting driftwood from Petco far out weights getting it from a store or service and cost much less! Better aquatic plant selection than most everywhere else and decent variety of fresh and salt water fish, invertebrate, amphibians and occasionally a free snail! Driftwood on the right is Petco's and the other is 3 different pieces I put together that cost me the same $30 for large driftwood that is still putting my tank through it. Boiled and soaked for a week and still floats so I anchored it with rock AND still releasing tannins where I had very little problems with the other.

I love Petco! Going to both the store in Lacey and oly is always a treat, staff is always extremely friendly and helpful, intelligent with their pet knowledge and overall understanding and kind, the general manager is extremely sweet and kind with guests overall I would recommend buying all of my pet products here and taking my pooch here just to look around along with me thank you Petco!

Had to order 2 vari-kennels from your warehouse due to the rapid growth of our dog to determine the suitable size. Both were received in more than a timely manner and the return of the smaller one was convenient and efficient. Thanks to all personnel who got involved with the process including the staff at Petco on Marvin Rd in Lacey, WA. Everyone in the loop from ordering to return was great!

Zero starsFish enthusiasts, please read…and don’t shop here!! Support fish stores that care for the animals they make millions on 🙏🏽Last week I visited this location and ended up leaving feeling sick to my stomach.While browsing the community tanks I happened upon a 20 or 30 gallon tank with at least 60 white skirt tetras. That in and of itself is bad, however, for some strange reason there were 4 female betta fish fighting for their lives inside the same tank. Along with 4 more being acclimated. I ended up buying 3 of the bettas that seemed to be in the roughest shape…just to give them a fighting chance at life.I asked the associates why they would choose to house bettas with known fin nipping fish and I was told they were ordered to do by corporate.This confuses me because no other petco location does this. I’ve been to Tacoma stores, puyallup, Lakewood, federal way, etc. and I’ve never seen females bettas 1) in the same tank together and 2) inside an overpopulated tank with fish that will slowly eat away at them.I understand bettas are common and mass bred. I understand very many pass away in the little cups I normally see them in at petco locations.However, to house them this way is animal cruelty. If this really is an order from corporate I would love to be put in contact with the person in charge of these decisions.It would truly be more humane to flush these fish, rather than let them slowly be tortured to death.The associates were nice enough to give me half off on the bettas, considering one was completely shredded and near death. The others were in better shape but still had chunks missing from their fins. Each betta was given their own fully cycled and planted 5 gallon tank, along with medications to repair the damaged tissues.The betta that was near death unfortunately passed after a few hours. She was beyond saving…all she did was rest and come up for air a few times before she passed away. At least she got to pass in peace.The other bettas are still alive and getting stronger everyday. Soon they will join more female bettas in an appropriate, densely planted 40g betta sorority tank and live out their days in peaceful harmony.Hopefully the stress of this stores negligent actions won’t cut their life too short.Do better petco. This is animal abuse.

They do NOT do walk in nail trims. I have been turned away the last three times I’ve went. The most recent time was on a Sunday around noon. She said they were full and said they couldn’t do it right now. She said I could come back in the afternoon and I asked her what time, she said she didn’t know. But suggested I try another groomer in the area. I have gone during the weekend, weekday and in the morning and in the evening and in the afternoon. Doesn’t matter what time I’ve gone I’ve been turned away for nail trims more than 2 times. The groomers are also rude about it.

Petco was good. Came in to do some window shopping. Price comparing. Was kind of bummed on fish selection. But I am looking for a specific breed so I get that it may be difficult to find. Fish accessories were abundant. The rest of the store had a lot to offer. Browsed the cat section. Lots of things to pick from. Staff was all nice and asked if I needed anything. Small creatures were fun to see, watch and look at. Cages seemed well kept and clean.

Always a great place to visit for our fur babies. The refillable litter is the best. We have 2 cats and this is very affordable and one of the best litters we have used.

I asked if there was anyone who could help me grab some shrimp from the tanks and apparently that was a sore subject, considering the attitude of the employee who came to "help". Oh and they just had bags of dead fish sitting there in the tanks. It's close to where I live, so it would be convenient if not for frequent inventory issues. Try Petworks in Olympia, the employees there seem to actually like their job.

Staff are usually friendly, but it's often not staffed enough or they are unavailable. Every time I've gone here no one asks if I need anything or if I've been helped, I usually have to go to the front counter to ask for help before searching for any floating workers (which there arent). Most times, there's such a lack of staff that if I'm not helped after waiting a half hour for a mouse, I end up walking out. Sadly, not a lot of the nationwide places in the area are well managed. (I.e. petco, mcdonald's, Wal-Mart, etc. The big name places) but once finally helped things go smoothly. Prices are often overpriced, but that's every place nowadays, but like I said, I just think the place might be poorly managed.

The third pet store I went to looking for a bottom-feeder to help get rid of some algae in my tank. But the fact that they had one isn't the reason for the rating. The rating is for the person that helped us. She was intelligent and actually helpful in a practical manner that wasn't weird. Went to another store and thought the person was going to have to consult the spirit realm to determine if they had what I wanted or not. No, really. Weird.

Minimal staff. If you need help with any of the animals (fish, reptiles, birds or other small mammals) better ask at the front before walking to their locations for more than likely the front will have to call and ask for help.

We took our late dog harleigh to the groomer here a while ago and he came back shaved to the bone. We thought it was a one time deal and with our new pup we tried real hard to groom her but she's a shy puppy and had a few knots on her belly. Staff assured us she would be taken care of. They shaved her beard, her legs, even her whiskers down to the skin. I know knots sometimes require shaving but my mom and I almost had the knots out with a pair of hairclipping scissors. We just stopped because she was stressed and decided to leave it to the professionals. Big mistake. Don't take your dog here unless you want them to be unrecognizable.

The grooming dept changed your 5 star to a 1 star. Brought my dog here to get deshedding treatment and they claimed my dog was not able to work with after praising her for how good she was. She ended up stopping the service I paid for and still attempted to charge full price. My dog is not hard to work with at all. First and last time I ever use this petco or any petco for that matter.

dropped our dog off for grooming got him back with a bald spot. They literally ruined our dogs coat because this spot turned into several all over his coat. Our vet did a biopsy told us it was from the soap used at Petco. It burned him !!

This specific place is pretty freaking awesome. So are the people this fish found the best home he was moved to a huge indoor pond where he teaches people about how gold fish don't belong in lakes and out door ponds as they grow to the size of there enclosure he has a tone of friends is safe and very healthy
