Great food overlooking the inlet and it is possible to eat directly on the waterfront located in the absolutely picturesque Old Town laconner. A woman owned and run business widge not only exceptional food, but an amazing bakery. I love the place, I loved its atmosphere, I loved its food and pastries, but perhaps most of all, I love the people. Kayla served us! But the manager broke through in her busy schedule to help out as well. All of the people in every area. We're so warm and outgoing. Love this place. And cannot recommend it highly enough

We came here for an early lunch after driving down to see the tulips. We had eaten here before and we were wanting a good bowl of Cham chowder, which they did not disappoint. It was fairly busy and we had to wait 5–10 minutes before being seated. Our server Bettina was great, checking in every so often to see his things are or if my wife needed a coffee top up. I observed she was also very good about explaining the menu options and interacting with other customers. It wasn’t long before we were both enjoying our soup and homemade bread. The bread was like a rye with a slight hint of sweetness and some nuts. I enjoyed dipping it in my soup. The soup was creamy with lots of clams and veggies. New England style which is my favourite. It was great after taking pictures of the tulips on a dry but cold and windy day. The homemade lemonade in a mason jar mug was very refreshing as well.I don’t normally post pictures of the bathroom but it was like stepping back in time and a really cool place for a bathroom! The changing table looked like it had a marble top and was very interesting piece of furniture. We were pretty full from lunch so we had no room for dessert. We did buy some baked goods to have when we got home as they looked too good to pass up.Later that night after dinner we sampled the desserts. I enjoyed a Maple Bacon Cinnamon Bun with real bacon, which was so large I saved most for breakfast the next morning. My older son and wife enjoyed the tasty Lemon Bars while our younger son devoured his Snickerdoodle cookie. They make delicious baked goods as well! So if you want a great meal or tasty dessert or snack they have lots of great options!Parking: There is free street parking on most streets and free parking in 2 nearby lots.

As luck would have it, my wife and I ate at the Calico Cupboard in LA Connor twice within two weeks. The first visit was with our daughter and her husband. We had lunch, and both couples split a salad and sandwiches. The salad was fresh and large with wonderful ranch dressing. The sandwich was huge. We were so glad we split the meal. The sandwich was full of turkey bacon lettuce tomato and yummy. The second time we went for breakfast. I am sorry to say that both of us preferred lunch over breakfast. I ordered two eggs, over medium, the whites were still runny, potatoes were red skin potatoes cooked with a fair amount of onions, which I can't eat, bacon, very crispy and 1 slice of wheat toast. My wife had biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. She asked for salsa, and the charge was $2.50, the server didnt tell us about the charge. The biscuits were very dry and crunching, not fluffy at all.We would likely do lunch again, but not breakfast for sure.

This is "the spot" for either a sit-down breakfast or scrumptious pastries for take away. Enjoy sitting outside on their deck that overlooks the Swinish Channel, or grab and go and take your pastries with you for some great window shopping. The food is great! We were 6th on the guest list when we arrived and were seated within 30 minutes. But it was well worth the short wait, and we had plenty to do and see just walking around while we waited.

Come on it's on the waterfront, open early great dinner. But the sweets were incredible and fresh.Parking: If you are a early bird no problem, about 930-1000 it starts to fill up and it does fill up fast. NOTE: if you pay for parking and leave be sure to give your ticket to a stranger for parking, pay it forward.Kid-friendliness: Four grand kids and three adults no problemo.

Housed in a historic building at La Conner waterfront, this is a homage to grandma cooking with a PNW twistWe have dined here a few times over the years, and most dishes are delicious without over greasy as most country style breakfast places getMost worth mentioning is their unique style of “hashes”! I normally dislike potato dishes, but oh boy, I could clean out the big plate all by myself here!!The huge selections of cookies and pastries can’t hurt either. They serve Flying Bird tea, a superb local choice.Service is very warm and attentive.Great decor, easy to find parking.

This has been a long time favorite stop for lunch or a mid day snack. The bakery items are great! The sandwiches and chili are very tasty. They also serve a nice breakfast. Great stop at the end of town! It's good for a family or friends to meet for a coffee and snack.Vegetarian options: The vegetarian chili is excellent.Parking: Street parking can be hard to find during peak times and holidays. There is a free lot next to the restaurant.

We were recommended to your location by another local establishment in old town. All we wanted was a cup of coffee and a pastry. The hostess was overwhelmed and agitated. She was rude with her instructions, and was barking at us as to where we could and could not sit. In the future, you should have a clear message of the procedures to get into your business and enjoy! My wife and I have never given a bad review. Yours was our first. Hope you can take this criticism and make some changes. I'm sure we weren't the first to complain. We did, by the way, find other place in Old Town, that was friendly, warm and had great coffee, pastries and good service.

Cute spot right at the end of the boardwalk and town. Amazing breakfast and baked goods for sale. The sunshine breakfast sandwich was a perfect portion size/filling. They do good coffee and iced lattes too.It can get very busy. Especially during the summer and Tulip season. Best to go early or later to avoid a long wait during the busy times. The service has always been friendly and personable.Don’t miss out on their cinnamon rolls.

My husband and I came in to order baked goods to go. The “waitress” stated she was multi tasking when taking our order. I had to repeat my order twice. I was charged for two items which are not in my bag. I paid $45 for (4) croissants, (1) scone and (1) cinnamon roll. She was more engaged with her friend booking an advanced reservation versus the customer standing in front of her. Expensive, poor service. Would not recommend.

Let's start by saying this place is exceptionally loud. Next, the prices are now to the point of being totally unreasonable for a breakfast/lunch restaurant. $20 for a turkey sandwich and potato chips. And to make things worse, everything is priced at around $20. Breakfast - $20. Lunch - $20. Burger - $20. Salad - $20. Next, we had to wait 45 minutes to get our food. Next, the bathrooms are located in the serving area about 4 ft. wide where the wait staff is trying to get in to do their stuff. Finally, the bill screen came up - Tip -18%, 20% or 22%. What happened to 10% or 15%. Wait, the law also changed! The servers are making around $20 per hour now in Washington and tipping was created solely because restaurants paid so little ( like $3/ hr) and tipping was the way servers got paid. So you tipped 10% to 15%. This is no longer true. With restaurants charging so much to offset their new living wage requirements the tip is in the price already. Tip only if you got exceptional service 5% or 10%, like everywhere else in the world now that living wages are required by the restaurants.

The service was friendly and prompt. The breakfast burrito with potatoes was good. The French toast, though, was unfortunately too thick, dry, and bland.

Almost $20 for $2 worth of ingredients in the potato hashes. We also waited almost an hour for our food, which is apparently the norm here. We all work hard for our money, so I'd recommend you go spend your time and money elsewhere

Came here with some friends on their recommendation and was so engrossed with catching up that I totally forgot to take pics. It was a bit of a wait but not terrible and the staff were accommodating of our rather large stroller. In general, the staff were really attentive and it really had that small town vibe.I will say though that I completely went out of left field here and had two cinnamon rolls that I split for breakfast with my friend because these suckers were huge and looked really good! My family's first business was a cinnamon roll bakery so when I saw these and that they were famous for them, I had to try. My partner had the garden salad with their house special soup, which was some kind of pumpkin soup which were both delicious, my kids ended up sharing their granola and my friends partner had one of their scrambled. For my friend and I, we split the pumpkin cinnamon (seasonal) roll and the maple walnut one (my family used to make Carmel pecan and called them sticky buns) and my favorite pieces were always the corners and they let us get them without flinching when I ordered them! They had a great consistency and no lacking in either frosting with pumpkin flavor or in walnuts. It was nice to see them incorporate pumpkin into both the dough as well as the frosting.

Wow, what a delightful breakfast fromstart to finish (on a busy Easter Sunday, no less!). There were tons of delicious options for vegetarian and vegan eaters, and I landed on the Brussels Sprouts Hash - yurrrmm. The staff were very friendly and efficient, providing many rounds of piping hot coffee. The meal was fresh as can be and deliciously prepared. I thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor patio dining experience, which included sightings of bald eagles and Osprey! Can’t wait to go back and bring a group of girlfriends!

We walked in at 2:30. According to the website, they close at 3. They told us very curtly "the kitchen is closed. You can order from the Bakery to go." We asked if we could order drinks and sit in the cafe area while we drank them. Their response, even more curt: "You can sit at the counter if you *really want to* but we're *closing*" (again, 30 minutes before closing). So, thanks for nothing! We ended up at a lovely cafe down the street.

They were great and the food is fantastic! They accommodated our party of 9 within 5 minutes and served through a smile without. Really tasty brunch, and quite a few of my pals enjoyed the red beer on offer.I had corn beef hash, my husband had the Brussel sprouts hash. Realllly satisfying.

Anytime I head up north I make sure to stop at Calico Cupboard either here or in Mount Vernon. They also have one in Anacortes.I love the Ambiance and the food. You can't go wrong with any of their menu items or their wonderful pastries, cookies and desserts. We always get something to go so we can enjoy it at home later.Wonderful outdoor seating overlooking the river at the La Conner location.Service and food are always good and the prices are decent.

It was very busy and quite crowded when I ate lunch here, ven though it was well past the noon hour. The waitresses were obviously stressed. I suspect the service would be better at other timesThe food was good.Vegetarian options: There is a nice selection of vegetarian options. You need to look for them throughout the menuParking: Good luck finding a parking spot. Be prepared to walk a good distance. There is a handicapped loading and unloading zone if one of your party is mobility impaired

Every time I am in LaConner, I’d be sure to stop at calico cupboard old town café. I love their almond croissants, as well as the raspberry white chocolate scones. I’ve never had breakfast or lunch here, but it looks good as well. They have lots of cool merchandise for sale as well.
