Kevin (aka Jason) is such a happy kitty. He loves to mess up the room. I got him yesterday and he has already made me so happy. He loves to run and jump, knead without nails, and snuggle. Just what I wanted in a cat. He started to eat and drink as well as use his litter box as soon as I brought him home. He does have some separation anxiety though which we are working on. I love him so much. Thank you BFHS for allowing him to come home with me.

Adopted two kittens from different litters. They knew they were sick when they sent them home. They called it a “stomach bug” that all the kittens were currently experiencing. Told me to call if there’s any health issues or concerns. Well, you can’t call and get ahold of anyone, only record a message. If they responded at all it was 3-4 days later until they stop responding. I’ve got over $500 in vet bills tracking down the multitude of issues both kittens had tapeworms and giardia. One of them was so sick she almost died. Very disappointed but obviously they’ve moved on and feel this is my issue. Their irresponsibility and apathy make them only slightly better than a puppy or kitty mill. My recommendation would be to go elsewhere. I realize they’re a nonprofit but it’s very clear they’re pushing the animals out as quickly as possible to make room for the new ones; turning a blind eye and transferring any health issue the animals have to the new owners. I guess expecting to receive an animal with clean health was too much to ask. Two animals from different litters experiencing the exact same issue makes me think this is the standard instead of the exception. I recommend you adopt somewhere with more accountability.

It is a beautiful facility. The staff really care about the animals. They are often short staffed so you might have to wait a little bit to get questions answered or helped when it's your turn. Juat come with patience because the work they do truly matters, they care so much there are just not enough help. I highly encourage people to foster if they can, I was able to foster a momma with babies and a second set of babies that came in the same day as our pick up of momma kitty. Natalie is very caring and has been there over a year at least since I've been adopting/fostering. She set us up with supplies to feed the babies and keep them warm etc. It's been such a good experience. Please be patient with staff and know they are doing their best. It's also kind of hard to reach them on the phone. But reach out, you will be heard!

Wonderful place and everyone there genuinely loves and cares for the animals in their care. We've adopted 2 pets from here and I cannot give enough stars! Everyone is so kind and helpful.

Very helpful staff with clear communication. We were able to adopt 2 kitties in November fully vaccinated and spayed. We were able to put a hold on them on a Friday and they were spayed that next Wednesday and we adopted and took them home on Thursday.

A very good place to find your forever pet. I found mine there. Reshina, renamed Xena, 8 months old and 88#. The facility is clean, the animals are well taken care of and shown love daily.Find your forever pet at a shelter near you. And donate please.

I dropped off some donation stuff for these guys and was greeted by a very nice gentleman, I'm sorry I forgot his name, but VERY NICE! I just wanted to take a second. And thank everyone who works here or puts some volunteer work in. What you do for these animals is remarkable, and I know if they could talk, they would thank you. I know each and every one of them has their own way of showing you how much they appreciate you. So, thank you again! Although, If there was one thing that I could change about this place, it would be how expensive it is to adopt. I know they want them going to good homes, but please make it affordable. I'm actually speaking on when my kids wanted to adopt YEARS ago. So it could've changed by now im not sure. But thank you for doing what you do!

We love this place. It’s super clean, the staff and volunteers are knowledgeable and sweet, and every dog and cat are being well taken care of here. We love donating goods to them and the dog we got several years ago from here was just perfect for us. It really is a humane place.

Went in and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Then on my second visit they helped me find my dog Bella and we were able too do a meet and greet with our other dog as well as bring her home all in one day!!Thank you Benton Franklin Humane Society for helping me and my mom adopt Bella!!!!

This is a clean shelter. Currently (June 10th, 2022) only the cats are available to be seen by walk ins. Very friendly cats and kittens available. The only thing I would suggest is to have genders listed for the kittens. (I didn't see this available)

Very nice place! For a shelter it's very clean, and the animal cages were well taken care of. Un like other animals shelters they had a water bowl, food bowl, bed, 1-3 toys, cat scratcher, etc. If you're adopting, you can get a cat scratcher, toys, and food if you need it. I highly recommend going there if you're looking to adopt. 🐕🐈‍⬛

I got my dog there 3 years ago and always said if I had any extra money I would buy dog food to donate I had extra with my stimulus so I filled the backseat of my car with dog food canned and dried for dogs and cats to donate to them for all the wonderful work they do

The front desk does answer the phone. They obviously do not check messages left because when I arrived after leaving a message I asked if the message I left they had responded to. They did not. I have called on several occasions.Of course, care for the animals is the first priority. That undoubtedly is excellent. The business side of the facility is poor.

We have gotten four adult cats from here. All were well taken care of, spayed and had vaccinations. Staff was incredibly helpful and patient as we found which cats would come home with us. The building was clean as were the cat igloos. They keep their website up to date and are very responsive. Fantastic shelter, service and staff.

At first I felt like nobody wanted to do their job. That's my fault. At second encounter and second attempt for help the that was amazing I brought in two dogs that I found on the 4th of July weekend they were on the freeway one of them was chasing cars. They were able to help me gather them after they were accidentally set loose again. Thanks for the hot dog trick and thanks for the patience helping them get back in the car. They were returned to the rightful owner!

We visited the shelter today and I noticed that the staff were very attentive to us as visitors and made us feel welcome. They gave us the important facts that we needed in order to navigate the facilities with ease. We enjoyed visiting the dogs in particular, and even though we were not ready at this time to adopt, they were still happy to assist us and let us know that they would be willing to answer any questions that we have when we are ready. I do have to dock one star due to several kennels that were soiled but it was most likely due to the fact that it was quite rainy outside. Overall, the experience was a positive one and we will be visiting again.

Awesome experience! The facility is very clean.Raven and Natalie were so wonderful and knowledgeable. We could tell they genuinely care about the animals they work with. We love our new pup Lucy so much. We will definitely support the Benton Franklin Humane Society and would adopt from them again.

It's an illegal place, my friends dogs ran off and they caught them in this place. They went to retrieve their dogs back but "oh sorry, to get your dogs back it's gonna be $300. And if you can't pay that today it'll raise by $100 each day". My friend just moved into a new house so they are struggling with money. They had friends and family put money in to get them back. It was already $500 each. Not even a week in, we went back to get them but they SOLD THEM. They said they were taking up space and needed to free up room and someone adopted them. WHICH IS ILLEGAL. I've been very upset about this for months, they took down this review but I'm putting it up everytime... Don't go here y'all, they only care about money, not animalsThe dogs were Australian cattle dog and Pitbull
