Can’t begin to say enough about Jan, Chuck, and the entire experience at Hardware Distillery. Made the pilgrimage 2+ hours from Seattle to Hoodsport with one goal in mind - get my hands on additional bottles of the Hardware Distillery Dill Aquavit (which is exceedingly tough to obtain other than in person).Was greeted with open arms, given a tour of the facility and a walk through the entire distilling process, and were treated to more samples than imaginable.Having tried a number of aquavits in my life - what I really like about Hardware Distillery is how incredibly smooth their spirits are - particularly because so much of their aquavit is distilled from pears.Ended up purchasing enough aquavit to last my friends and family a few years - time and money incredibly well spent. Thanks for the amazing experience!

Must stop pit stop! This little nook is one of the best craft distillery I have had tastings at. Majority of ingredients used are local and make this such a special thing. The owner is a fountain of knowledge and a fountain of fine liquor. Part store part distillery this small place is fun to explore. Peered into the distillery section while having the tasting, you can see the beautiful copper stills. Great Covid precautions, safe and simple without being overbearing about it. Needless to say after tasting literally everything!… we bought many bottles. Great flavors for everyday and some perfect for the holidays. It will be such a special treat when I serve it to my guests during upcoming holidays. There are couple sizes of bottles, including minis that make nice gifts to give. Not only would I go back, I would order and have it shipped. Bees knees with fig and the HyW 101 coffee liqueur were my top favorites followed by the rest! What a local treasure!

Jan and Chuck created an amazing place that's full of life and ingenuity. We spent our anniversary in Hoodsport and stopped at The Hardware Distillery, it's one of our favorite places. Their son owns and operates a brewery nearby, which is also fantastic! Both places are a exceptional and worthwhile for anyone looking for an adventure off the beaten path!

I love this place. They are extremely knowledgeable of the practice and art of distilling fine spirits, and they keep the scandinavian spirit alive. They even sell bottles in the shape of tomtes, which is awesome!

What an incredible find! Really tasty whiskey, plus totally unique fermented honey wines and delicious gins and aquavit. An incredible treasure, owned and operated by someone who's clearly passionate about the craft of it. Chuck took the time to let us sample each and every delicious concoction, and we were truly impressed. Alchemy of the best sort.

We make it a point to stop in The Hardware Distillery every time through Hoodsport. The owners are always very friendly and offering to walk through their beautiful copper kettles. Very fun selection of product gifts.A must do. And then follow up with ice cream down the wooden sidewalk of course.

Stopped in after a beautiful hike at the recommendation of a friend - will definitely be back for more! Run by a lovely couple who were friendly, welcoming, and excited to share in their passion for spirits. The adorable shirts are designed locally and super soft. But most importantly, their spirits were top notch! Highly recommend taking home a bottle of their Cardamom Aquavit. Certainly will become a shelf staple for myself! Bonus points, their son owns the lovey brewery a few shops down.

A good stop in Potlatch! The owner/distiller is very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of distilling and blending flavors. We enjoyed trying whisky, gin and went home with a bottle of gin. The shop is pet friendly!

I visited here 3 years ago. Still remember it. A kindly gentleman sold me some delicious whiskey. Super smooth. Finished the bottle much faster than I expected. I’ll visit again. Too bad Washington state charges such high liquor taxes as I’d buy more.My high school chemistry teacher said most alcohols are poisonous, only one type you can drink. I’ll choose this distillery’s poison anytime. Ur drinking the good stuff here.

We enjoyed stopping in this local distillery. Very friendly owners and Chuck is very knowledgeable, we learned so much while we were there and even got a tour. The artwork by his wife is so beautiful. What a great place to stumble upon. So glad we stopped, and we will definitely be back again during our next visit!! Thank you Chuck!

I live a few miles away and finally made it in today. Very surprising and wonderful! The owner was in hand to educate and take us through a story of his amazing spririts. We weren't planning on buying a bottle, but by the time we left, we couldn't decide how many to buy. I enjoyed everything he hadIn such a small town, this is a big experience.

This is the highlight to any visit to tiny Hoodsport. All spirits are the creation of the man who owns and operates the distillery and he is clearly very gifted. The Aquavit is outstanding. The whiskey is just fantastic. The Gin is special. The mead based spirits are creative and tasty. There's something special about each and every thing he makes. The shop has some very nice items that make excellent souvenirs, too. They sell a nice selection of sample sizes so you don't have to choose a favorite. Try the Cats Pajamas. A wonderful cherry based liquor that caps off a perfect round of tasting. Obviously, I love the place.

We were not able to experience the tasting because of COVID-19, but we came by and the gentleman there was very kind and welcoming. We did taste a few samples and ended up buying 2 bottles. Great quality spirits!

Chuck is so knowledgeable and friendly. He's happy to offer a free tasting and give you tons of interesting information as you're sampling. As for the spirits themselves, I'd go as far as to say that their offerings are world class. The Small Batch Whisky rivals the best scotches I've ever had. And when crafting their Aquavits, Gins, and Bee's Knees (which is a distilled and aged mead with fruit) they use quality, well thought-out, and local ingredients. I will most definitely be going back several times. Not just for the great drinks, but the friendly atmosphere and genuinely interesting conversation.

Owner was very nice and gave us the tour and the tips to find out the details of the fine spirits. He also educated us how the aged barrels works for ageing liquor. Got several samples to try it out with different combinations of spirit. If you are in hood sport area and you like good spirits then you should give it a try.

We have been going to The Hardware Distillery since they opened, and were excited to see several new additions to the menu on our last trip (7/2016). We will always be faithful fans of the Crabby Ginny, but are excited to work our way through the list of new spirits. The staff and owners are excellent hosts. This is truly a wonderful locally-owned craft distillery. If you are in the area, you absolutely must make time to stop by, have a tasting and treat yourself to your own bottle (or two)!

I tried a tasting of six aquavits, three of which were imports from Scandinavia; Hardware's cardamom aquavit was either the best outright, or tied first-place with a premiere Icelandic selection. Absolutely go here if you're passing through.

Amazing liquors and spirits. The vodka is totally unique in flavor, clean but somehow tasting fresh, which is not something that I thought distilled alcohol could do without a mixer. The gin is craft quality at middle shelf price. If you are within 50 miles of this place and don't visit it, that's your loss because this place is amazing. I'll be back.

This place is amazing. The owner is very knowledgeable and explains the history and the process of each of his alcohols. There is a very wide variety, from gin and whiskey, to liqueurs. I highly recommend the hwy 101!
