Definitely not what would normally be considered a winery. There seemed to be no outdoor seating (definitely not anything of any size), just a tasting room and store. The wines were OK at best. We had a tasting (thinking it was strange when we were only offered "what was open"), and bought one bottle to take with us. Our total was $48.00 before tax. Upon uncorking the bottle later that evening, the inside of the cork had a thick, dark (almost black), tarry substance. We enjoyed a few really good wineries on this trip to Washington, and knowing what I know now, I'd pass on this one.

Very cute wine shop! Laura was so nice and helped us pick out some bottles. They had fruit wines, mead, ciders, along with local wines plus gift bags. A fun stop if you’re in the area.

Customer service was great that is only reason for 2 stars. Just opened the bottle of Rose’ she assured me was dry, and not sweet. I told her several times I don’t like sweet wine. It wasn’t available for taste and I didn’t have glasses to read label and was in a hurry, so I trusted her. It it awful!! I couldn’t even finish small glass I poured. It’s beyond sweet. She needs to learn her grapes. It is a Muscat grape so clearly sweet. Pricy wine to dump down the sink! I have tasted better boxed wine, and that is bad too!

We had the best experience today. I forgot the gals name but she’s the granddaughter of the owners and she was lovely! Very knowledgeable and so friendly!! Not to mention the wines were great too! We will definitely be back often.

This is, in my opinion, the best winery on the west side of Washington state, and I've been to many. I love the set up of the place, I love the atmosphere and customer service, but most importantly I love their wine! You need need need to stop by if you're in town!

0/5 stars if I could. The old lady who runs the shop is Nosy, disrespectful, and rude.My boyfriend and I wanted to stop into our first winery and decided on this cute little winery we’ve seen countless times driving, and that was a mistake. As most people do when they find out my boyfriend and I are 21, they ask if we’re in school and since we aren’t they ask about work, but this lady didn’t let it stop there. When she pried her way to figure out why I wasn’t currently working, I mentioned I have a pretty severe knee injury which requires physical therapy that doesn’t start yet, she decided to mention how she worked at 7 years old and she is capable of working that long, that I’d be fine and can handle some pain. Alright no problem, older generations are different than mine so that’s fine. But it felt like it was a competition to her.She asks what I want to do or what could be of interest for me so I mentioned trade school for mechanics stuff and she instantly shuts me down and tries to tell me to go to college etc. my boyfriend started to steer conversation back to him as he could tell she was bein a little rude so I started reading about her wines. Still giving her a chance, things seem good with my bf and her, whatever I’ll still look.It began to become an issue when she was starting to rudely comment on how I wasn’t in college, while I’m over trying to read about her wines to kind of disengage the uncomfortable feeling she’s been shoving towards me, stating I didn’t have a plan and needed to get one. While mid conversation praising my boyfriend for being an electrician. At this point my boyfriend and her are chatting, he’s keeping attention on him so I can look cause he could even tell she was being a too rude. For the sake of accidentally catching her attitude wrong I still don’t mention anything about it, but right as she was finishing up conversation with him so we could leave, she looks at my boyfriend and goes “sounds like you have your life planned *looks over at me with a squint in her eye* but she still needs to figure hers out.”So I said back to her I mean no disrespect but it’s not a competition on who can do more. You don’t know my story, but I’m not in here to be scolded on my life. (in short, I’m spacing on the specific verbiage but I was stern cause she was blatantly rude to me) and left.I wouldn’t recommend coming here to anyone. It seems she has an attitude that won’t be changed, I’m sure there’s better winery’s out there. First time customers and first time in a winery (she knew, she asked) and ruined our first experience there. 0/5 stars

We usually visit Hoodsport Winery once or twice a year. They have a great variety of local wines. It's always great to have around home for everyday or special occasions.

Can only taste what is already opened. Wine is just okay at best. Way over priced. Would not recommend this place.

My experience was lame. They had three wines to taste from. The wine tasting sample where served in plastic conament container. The bottle of wine I purchase was $40 and some change The sticker on the top of the bottle was placed upside down that told you the percentage of the alcohol. The wine was basically a pruno. The inside of the winery was very small in the atmosphere was it gloomy. The employee of the winery was very polite.

We had a very medium experience drinking the wine, mead, and cider we purchased here. The experience of buying it was nice as the woman was extremely knowledgable and helpful. There was a bit of shellshock when we got three bottles of booze for 80 bucks.Drinking it wasn't very fun as they all tasted a little off. Not as though they had gone bad but like they were made by your neighbor in a garage as opposed to a winery.Very weird.

We got a bottle of blueberry wine and boy oh boy was it delicious! Plus the lady who greeted us at counter(I think she was the owner?) was very kind and friendly. I highly recommend trying them out. We’ve had other wines of theirs and they were very good also.

My wife and I stopped here and the wine tasting was excellent. The salesperson new everything about the wines and all the foods they would be great with. She was very friendly and kept the experience real to the end. We left with some great wines that day and plan to go back soon.

Too spendy and uneasy area. good wine, but overpriced and wish there were more options but I understand not having much being local. It is in a lovely location and all, but I dont think I will be returning, considering the nature of people in the trailer park located directly behind it...usually a mess and very unfriendly folks living around there. Every time I am here, my vehicle gets scoped out by either a man or a woman from the nearby trailers. Very uncomfortable and makes me feel unsafe. Other locations in the area might be more worth your time and more appropriate if you are with family and traveling. Its a shame I dont remember the location ever being like this with all of the trailers... not that many anyway.Edit: changed my review to 1 star after reading through some reviews, considering the owner of this establishment likes to respond to other reviews here in petty and passive aggressive manners. How ironic, to guise yourself under a professional mask only to insult your customer base in the end, due to you being unable to receive constructive (or any) criticism.

Less than impressed!! I love fruit wines and hadn’t been in a while thought I’d give it a go...zero customer service, no talking up the wines or encouraging a tasting...I had to do that. Enjoyed the Cuvée from Willamette Valley but at 35.00 a bottle!! Yikes!! This winery should be more than it is...Maybe an organized tasting, a little face lift, a tour...show some pride in the product!! Its too bad because the wines can sell themselves!!

We called to confirm business hours yesterday and were told it would be open at 11:00. This morning we waited until 11:45 and still was not open. Heard a radio inside but saw nobody and knocked but no answer.

Given a few bottles as a gift from family, pretty pricey for wet corks, no wax seal, and digestive upset. You guys may want to work on your bottling and sanitizing process, wet corks mean bacteria that can make people ill.

We stumbled on this winery on a little getaway and we are so happy we did! It's been about 6 months and we still order Island Belle to our doorstep. The only red wine we truly enjoy.

Been visiting this place with visiting friends and relatives from all over the country in the 20 years I've lived in PNW. Their wines are seasonal berry flavors to blended reserves of the higher end. This is a small storefront, but still family-owned. I've met Europeans, Australians, Pacific Islanders, and east Asians here to visit Hoodsport Winery. The owners young adult grandchildren assist customers some weekends and breaks from college. Today, my friend and I met Tish who was exceptional at assisting us in putting together a cache of fruity seasonals and blends of Reserve-quality, as well as can box of their signature raspberry truffles, and wine tasting gift certificates, all for a charitable auction. The winery sits across the country street from scenic Hood Canal. Whether a wintery drive, or cycling there on a glorious Spring day as I've often done, don't miss this Peninsula star! Wines we purchased were $20 to $59 per bottle...quite reasonable for upper end Chars, Syrahs, and the like. Truffles are beautifully boxed, and a variety of stemware is available for purchase too.Not only are the staff knowledgeable, but very welcoming, and willing to chat, all of which leads to an informed and delectablepresentstion for a large charity event.

We loved the blueberry wine and the siegerrebe wine and appreciated that they let us come in even though we forgot to call ahead. Delicious chocolates as well, and the cheese was a nice touch to compliment the wines.

Decent winery for the area with some okay wines, if overpriced for the quality. Also, 750ml cider at 26/bottle starting is rather absurd.

Paula, at Hoodsport Winery, recommended pairing their Sangiovese with lasagna. Great suggestion! I have never had a better wine with lasagna.
