He’s doing great, healthy and friendly. He has a distinct personality and though he does get startled easy, he always is comfortable and curious again right after. AMAZING & PROFESSIONAL Hedgehog breeder! I was so fortunate to stumble upon Briar Patch Hedgehog via a Google search. Once our family made the decision to add a hedgehog to our family, I began to research WA state hedgehog breeders. Rebekah; owner of Briar Patch Hedgehogs was nothing short of amazing. Out of the few I spoke to; she was the most personable, attentive, and patiently answered my never ending barrage of questions regarding hedgehog care! She was available 24/7 and worked closely with our family to ensure that my son would receive a hedgehog baby tailored for his needs! After waiting until the hedgehog baby was ready to come home, we ventured to beautiful Goldendale WA to meet her! Rebekah's property is beautiful and her hedgehog room was impeccably clean, and organized. She showed us her hedgehogs and took over an hour with my son teaching him how to hold, and care for his new baby! When we felt comfortable enough to leave with her, Rebekah gave me a lovely birth certificate and crystal clear contract with her very impressive health guarantee for a full year! Once we got our new baby home, let it be noted that Rebekah was available to provide post purchase support and help us with any additional questions we had. My Briar Patch Hedgehog is basically the greatest pet ever ❤ Rebekah was super educational and helpful, being that I was new to hedgehogs. All of the hedgehogs we showed me were very healthy looking. The little girl I took home was so friendly and cuddles with me at night when I do crafts. Definitely recommend Briar Patch Hedgehogs for any beginners or just ANYONE in general. They are the best!!

The whole experience of purchasing a hedgehog through Briar Patch Hedgehogs was phenomenal! Rebekah answered all of my questions wether they were dumb/annoying or not. She worked with me until I found the perfect little hedgie for me. I picked her up last weekend and I am absolutely in love! She is so well socialized and in amazing health. Even her vet was in awe of her! I have nothing but positive things to say about this breeder and the whole process of adopting a hedgehog through her! :)

We were really pleased with our experience here. Rebekah, the owner, was very upfront about the personality of our cranky hedgehog and we wanted him anyway. Still, she told us that if we brought him home and decided that he was just too standoffish, we could always bring him back and exchange him for another one. My daughter fell in love with him even though he is perpetually cranky and a year later we are getting an additional one from Briar Patch Hedgehogs. if you are looking for a pet store experience- this is not the place you want. It is a small, family run business and this is why we liked dealing with them. We made an appointment and drove across the state to get there. Rebekah knows the animals individually and can tell you about their personality. When we got our first hedgie, she spent some time watching us interact to make sure it was a good fit and showed me how to handle him. She had some basic accessories for sale and the rest we got off Etsy. I really recommend getting a Critter Nation cage- definitely worth the small investment. Our hedgehog is healthy and came with FDA papers. If someone has done their research and still believes a hedgehog is the right fit for them (reaallly think it over because this is a big commitment and a very unusual pet) then this is a place I recommend.

we got are hedgehog this year 2018 and she is everything you could hope for in a hog so well tempered and very healthy. the breeder was awesome leading up to taking are hog home i text her probably once every couple days (if not more lol) while i was getting all the essentials for proper hog care and she always answered my question and was happy to help. would recommend to anyone i know.

I purchased my hedgehog Tiggy in October of 2015. She died this past Fall after two years of battling cancerous tumors and uterine bleeding (she began showing symptoms in March of 2016). Contacted the breeder after she began having symptoms to ask about hedgehogs family history. She said that there had been no history of such illnesses in Tiggys relatives or in any of her other hedgehogs. She didn’t seem to be concerned about Tiggys Sudden bleeding spells and just told us all we could do was take her to a vet, which we had already done multiple times. Other hedgehog breeders in Washington seem very concerned with the care and health of hedgehogs who have left their care (likely to prevent bad bloodlines from continued breeding) and offer to help with vet bills if such instances arise. The breeder never contacted again to even check up on Tiggy, and at that point I only cared about figuring out what was wrong and getting help. When we went to purchase Tiggy I had gone originally to look at another hedgehog she had listed on her site. Most of the hedgehogs were unfriendly and wouldn’t even uncurl for the breeder. All the hedgehogs are left in their boxes and seem to have had very little interactions with humans beyond what was necessary to change bedding, feed, etc. Before Tiggy I had another hedgehog who had 0 health issues, friendly, and lived to be 5 which isn’t bad for a hedgehog. He was from a local girl who raised them as a hobby, not a business, and made sure to only have as many litters as she could socialize at a time. Tiggy however was only Two when she died and the amount of guilt I felt as she slowly got worse then passed on, likely do to bad breeding, still hurts. Towards her final months she needed two surgeries to remove cancerous tumors on her head. I urge you to look into other Washington state breeders, take your time and even though a breeder may be ‘certified’, question their intentions. I felt obligated to buy a hedgehog that day because I had driven so far, and I missed my old one, but as much as I loved Tiggy the pain I felt being able to do nothing more to save her was something owners shouldn’t have to feel and breeders should be responsible for. A knowledgeable breeder is important, but having too many to properly socialize or watch for careless breeding leads to pain, large financial loss, and worst of all the guilt of wishing you could have done more.

I said I had a bad experience. Luckily I did mean with the lady before leaving and it was a great experience learning how to maintain and care for the pet I am talking. Overale I would recommend this place for anyone looking hot a headhog
