Let me start with I love the concept and we did enjoy our time there. It was my boyfriend, I and our two dogs in a double bed cabin. The beds, pillows and bedding were very comfortable! We stayed in the first loop to the left when you enter the campgrounds in Bruce. It was a bit close for our liking to the other cabins but it wasn’t terrible. The second night we stayed was a Sunday so we had the entire loop to ourselves which was great. We travel with our own food and water so we didn’t buy anything from them. There was no toilet paper when we got there. Luckily we were driving into town so we were able to pick some up. They had a well stocked kitchen except for cooking utensils. We didn’t have a spatula for our eggs but made do with a fork. The outdoor space looked a bit sad, with dead branches everywhere. I think this place has a lot of potential with some cleaning up in the area. The space inside would have been perfect for us if we could have picked up the table and folded it away. The table was a bit wobbly and in the way. We appreciated the recommendations of places to visit nearby, and dog bowls/towel/treats. We didn’t know if the treats were free so we didn’t take them.We took quick showers and tried to only use cold water in the sink to prevent the hot water from running out when showering. Also if you want to use the FM radio we figured out if you take the radio out and put it on top of the cabinets then you’ll actually be able to pick up a few stations.Overall, it was a fun getaway! We only had to walk a short distance outside the campgrounds for a view of Mt. Adams and the tip of Mt. Hood. There were also some cute cows along the walk 🐮

Overall it was a good trip. They boast about not having phone service and they’re not lying! You have to drive down to Trout Lake at the nearest to get “good” cell service. My complaints are about the bed, which was hard as a rock and extremely uncomfortable. There were two sunken spots on both sides of the bed where other people had slept and you sort of just fell into them, and it felt like you were laying on the plywood below rather than on a mattress. We got zero sleep because we were so uncomfortable. They also inform you about the small hot water tank, but it really does go quick. And you have to wait at least 30 minutes for any hot water to come back. Each time I would shower I’d have to choose between washing just my body or just washing my hair because the hot water would run out so quick.Aside from that, the place was eerie. We got back from visiting a nearby wildlife refuge and found a cross drawn on the door of our cabin - not the screen door, but the actual door to the cabin. Definitely a little unsettling.

Our experience with Getaway turned into a nightmarish ordeal. The management and customer service team exhibited the utmost lack of professionalism. On the night of February 19, 2024, during the long weekend, we encountered several issues:1. We were not provided with our cabin assignment and keycode prior to our arrival. Despite my escalation, we only received this information via email at 2:24 pm.2. Upon arrival, we found the driveway to our cabin flooded, rendering it inaccessible. The water level was high, preventing us from leaving the cabin without getting soaked. Clearly, this cabin was not prepared to accommodate guests by any reasonable standard.Despite the fact that the site was only half occupied that night, we were informed that all two-bed cabins were fully booked. In an attempt to appease us, they offered a mere $25 credit to my Getaway account for a future stay. This gesture felt like an insult to my family.I cannot in good conscience recommend Getaway to anyone after such a disappointing experience.

Pros:Beautiful Location!!Cons:Customer ServiceCancellation PolicyIt's impossible to get someone on the phone! I've stayed at a Getaway 2x and had a reservation for a third stay. However, I had to reschedule the dates for the third stay because the forecast indicated that there might be freezing rain. (Snow is great; freezing rain not-so-much.)I had to pay the $50 change fee, which was fine as that was in the cancelation policy I agreed to. What I didn't understand is if you reschedule your trip you're actually charged more than the amount that shows on the pricing calendar. I have included details in the attachments. Here's the rebooking as I explained it to customer service at the time:If I try to edit the dates on my current reservation, the calendar shows the nightly rate for 5/5, 5/6 & 5/7 is $131/night. If I choose those dates, the cost summary changes the nightly rate to $145/night. (Shown in attachments.)After many emails the customer service rep begrudgingly agreed to give me the rate posted on the Getaway website. Before I posted this review, I emailed Getaway to offer feedback on what seems like a punitive policy. They responded with a generic "this is our policy" email, so this is why I am posting this information so that other customers can be forewarned.

I had a wonderful week here, very peaceful and restive. I came for a secluded and simple experience, and it fit the bill. Fair warning, it is remote, so there’s not really any “popping in to town to grab….” be it a bite to eat, groceries, etc.I came prepared, and ended up driving about an hour to the nearest place with a grocery store and a brewery for a little civilization break midway through my stay. Also when they say no cell service, they mean no cell service, it’s rough for quite a ways in every direction. If you’re not sure about directions, download offline maps before you come.Key additions besides foodstuffs I would recommend to anyone planning a trip - house slippers, a cozy blanket, and something to pass the time besides the cards they provide.

I’ve stayed at 2 separate properties and have enjoyed both. These are great, remote, and quiet. Makes for an easy “camping” trip.Nearby activities: Exploring the Gifford Pinchot National Forest is a highlight.

I dropped a star only because we did not realize just how far away from everything this place actually is and there’s not many food options available and we didn’t think to bring our own food to cook. BUT getting away from tech and watching the wildlife and world go by was just what we needed. It really is a beautiful location. The cabin was clean and comfortable. There is no cell service or wifi at all and it will be about 15/20 mins from the cabin for you get any which didn’t bother us but I read a lot of reviews that people didn’t realize that was a thing. You should unplug while you’re here. It is worth it!

Glamping but not! This is a great way to get out in the woods. No phone service until a 30 min drive (can get wifi at the local store) the place was really clean the cabin stayed at a comfortable temperature . They had all the plates, cups, cutlery you need. I do recommend bringing your own coffee, tea and wood. They are a little pricy if you buy there. The 5$ smores I think was worth it. We had Hershal all the way in the back which was beautiful. We drove all the way from Norcal. I wish there was one closer . This is somewhere I will be going again.Nearby activities: Go to the national forest place they have plenty of maps and places to show you.

When I arrived at the location, the door code I was given via text didn't unlock the door. The message says "text us if you need help" but this location is known not to have cell service and there isn't any for miles (and they know this, so I don't know why that's their procedure for getting help)I tried going into town to call from the general store over wi-fi, and their number was just an automated thing that said to text. Again, that's frustrating because you are a good 40+ minutes from anywhere with cell service.I went back to the outpost and tried using the red phone, hoping that was connected to a human. Nobody answered.Based on other reviews this has happened before so Getaway knows this is an issue.I gave up and drove back home and contacted them and they refunded me and acted incredulous that things went wrong but it doesn't sound like they actually were planning to do anything to make it possible to reach their support team from the outpost (or at least in town). They just aren't there to help if you need it and they're betting that everything will go off without a hitch.

I spent a couple days here and it was just what we needed, disconnect and enjoy the quite. Beautiful drive and surrounding area, nothing to distract from each other. Staff was prompt in responding to questions before the trip and the cabin had everything needed for a couples days away. Bummer there was a burn ban, but I would rather keep the forest green. Will be back

This was very disappointing. We payed hotel prices to sleep in a trailer park, without power half the time from a planned power outage they did not inform us of.We planned this months ago with another couple and requested to be near each other as they had a new born and my partner is 8 months pregnant. Despite our request we were placed on opposite sides of the complex and only found out a day before check in. We emailed them immediately asking to be closer and they never got back to us. Conveniently they do not have a phone number. We had planned cooking our meals together and had to shuffle back and forth every meal. The 2 burner electric stove was so weak that it would have been impossible to cook meals had I not brought my own propane fire pit (intended for warmth/smores only). I had to pack this up every meal. There was a planned power outage on our 2nd night that lasted until checkout the next day. No one was informed of this despite it being planned. There was no hot water and the food we had brought spoiled. The cherry on top was that we got charged for amnesties that we did not even use (coffee/tea). Upon bringing all of this to their attention they offered us a near 10% refund on our stay.We booked this trip thinking it would be easier on our families than camping as we depended on the amenities that we're scarce to begin with and then not available for half our stay. Very Disappointed indeed.

This was our first time going! It very very clean, cute and comfortable! The location was pretty but there’s not a lot to do in the area. The reason I’m giving it 4 stars is there was a fire ban and we weren’t told ahead of time. We left a day early because we felt pretty bored and the best part of camping is having a fire/ roasting food and smores. I wish they would have warned us before we drove a few hours out or accepted refunds for a night we aren’t spending there. Camping is about being out by the fire so I didn’t really get the affect of camping. Nevertheless it was a cool space. I think made more for newly weds/newer couples who can just be together in bed all day 😂 just except to bring your own things to do and don’t expect wifi, cell data or any hiking near by. It’s more of quietness and sitting to read etc.

We booked a 3-night stay in the hopes of getting away and reconnecting (kind of your motto). Our first 2 nights were good. We awoke early on our last day to go for a long hike.In transit from our hike, we received a text from the management group indicating there was a power outage (received around 12:30p). The text indicated that we would receive an update and that staff would be readily available if we needed anything. We went about our day expecting the outage to be 2-3 hours as this is common in the wild areas of Washington. After our long day, we returned to our cabin around 5pm – still no power. We attempted to locate a staff member, but none could be found. All staff areas (looks like a private house) are clearly labeled as “staff only” and with the lack of phone service in the area, we were left with 2 choices.Drive the 4 hours back home after a long day and loose out on our last night where we had a fun evening with games and dinner planned or stay in the dark with no ability to cook. Since we were already exhausted from the day’s adventure, we opted to stay expecting the power could eventually return.Sadly, we never got another update, no contact from staff on the ground, and the power never came on. So we ate cold veggies for dinner. The raw meat we had intended on cooking and dairy products spoiled. We took a late evening walk to find that most guests had left which left us with an eerie feeling. It felt unsafe to be completely out of pocket and the few folks that remained were less than happy. There was also a strange man randomly walking up and looking into the cabin windows (not the door), which made us feel even more unsafe. We even heard people screaming bloody murder at one point. We did not sleep much that night. The power eventually came back on sometime that night while we were sleeping. We understand that power outages aren’t uncommon in this area, however, this isn’t an inexpensive experience and essentially losing an entire day of power without any reliable contact from staff on the ground is reckless. There seemingly was no plan for this, though it’s common. Yes, I understand that we’re “camping” which we do often, but we didn’t bring any of our normal supplies as we expected lights/power/refrigeration/etc. to be available in the cabin. Why didn’t the staff come to speak with us? How do you expect people to be advised of the power outage if you only send texts in an area, you proudly promote as being cell-service free? Why didn’t you make an effort to set up a community cooking station? Gas grill? Offer guests a place to store their perishables (meds, milks, raw meat, etc.)? Why didn’t you advise staff to make one-on-one contact with each guest that remained? There weren't many. We did and it wasn’t that tough. Everyone was outside b/c the cabins were dark and hot.Further, I strongly recommend you implement a process to deal with this in the future. Staff should have been walking around, checking on folks. There should have been a plan to ensure people had food to eat. This could have been so different, part of the adventure so to speak, but the lack of communication and the odd behavior by the staff ruined the experience all together.PSA to future customers, you're paying a very high price for what may turn out to be a camping nightmare should the power go out.

The getaway cabins are truly an amazing experience and getaway. The staff there are very accommodating and very friendly. They deserve a huge shoutout for making this experience feel personalized and stress free. I've stayed here a few times now to reconnect with friends! There is amazing views, hikes, and sense of true bliss here. I will 100% be back and recommend this place to those who are wanting some time to recharge. The hot water does last a good amount of time for showers. The heater and A/C do wonders. Its a very cute tiny cabin with a very comfortable bed as well! 10/10 recommend!

Spent the weekend here celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary - what a dream! Truly heaven on earth to disconnect and reconnect ♥️A few notes:-read all the info on their website - it was super concise informative and gave us excellent advice for what to bring / what the provide/ what to expect-Download your maps, this location is about 35 mins outside service-Do bring bug spray, the mosquitoes were prevalent and Glenwood general store was out-We had the best neighbors and once we settled in forgot anyone else was around-We spotted a deer so close to our cabin, I hope you do too!-only wish we could have stayed for longer. We will definitely be back and can’t wait to bring our family.

Fridge did not work and neither did hot water. Pretty terrible experience really. Mosquitos were terrible too, which I realize isn’t there fault but it made the environment less appealing. It said they had coffee leading us to believe there would be a coffee maker of some kind which there was not. So be sure to bring your own. I would not go back and actually left a night early because it was so unpleasant. Tried to call customer service on the provided phone but could not get a hold of anyone and was prompted to leave a voicemail or try their website (of course there is no internet or cell service) which did little to help. Messaged once home and was offered a credit to come back for a night which I wont be using.

Wifey and I took our anniversary trip to Getaway Mt Adams and had the best time ever! Placed inside the quietest little farm town of Glenwood where there is a general store (quite convenient for snacks and coffee), there is so little traffic that children chalk drawings were sprawled across Main Street. Upon arriving at our unit, we were surprised with rose petals and a card wishing us a happy anniversary. The site was actually quite full the first night, but privacy and volume of neighbors was not an issue. Stargazing was incredible. These campers are equipped with everything. 2 burner stove, dishes and silverware, a fridge, AC/heat, full bathroom with shower, Well designed for storage. Can’t say enough good things about this stay.Things to know: you are about 40 minutes out of cell service out there. Which is nice, but definitely download a map before you go.There is a fire pit with grill and wood for sale at your site, however the wood bundles were a little small (6 pieces for $8 bucks) I’d suggest bringing some of your own.Bring bug spray. Mosquitos are pretty bold out there.General store is great for snacks and coffee but definitely bring enough food because closest market is about an hour away.Take pictures!!! You’re going to want to remember this amazing trip.Hey Getaway, need a spokesperson? I’d gladly stay at every location and post about it!

After a nice arrival and first night’s stay, the entire town experienced a power outage around 11AM. We were left without any information and had to flag down a staff member as they were leaving their quarters to get any sort of idea of what was going on. We did receive a text message alert saying staff was available to come by if we needed assistance, which would’ve helped a little if the location had access to cell service, which it does not (we didn’t actually receive text until we were long gone and with service), and if staff had made themselves readily available, which they did not. We were informed that this sort of thing happens fairly often and that power should be back between 1 to 3 hours. After waiting 3 hours, we headed back over to staff residence to use the only working landline out front to call and check for updates to no answer, so I left a message detailing our concerns. We could see staff going about their day and tried to wave them down to no avail as the property has signage stating “staff only” and we didn’t want to encroach on someone’s workplace residence. We waited until 5PM, still no update and decided to cut our losses after running into another guest trying to get ahold of staff to no avail as well. Before we left, I left a message with staff and contacted corporate. The only option when calling corporate is to leave a message, so we did so and left for home before it got too dark. To add insult to injury, as we were packing to leave another guest was walking around our camp grounds (right by our window), wearing a black hood. I’m sure this guest was just out for a stroll and had a lapse of judgement about respecting other guests’ space, but it made us a little nervous to say the least.Today is our checkout day (we paid for late checkout so we technically have 2 hours left). We arrived home last night around 7PM. We’ve still received no information regarding our issues, just an automated text with a link to leave a “comment.”Here’s my comment: we paid for a “glamping” experience, we did not come prepared to cook without electricity and we did not pay to be left hungry and wondering if we’d ever get power back to do so during our limited time off for the year. Staff should have kept guests updated and established an alternative communication channel in case of emergency or health concern. I can’t believe how difficult it is to get some sort of management on the phone.Side note: we attempted to shop at the town general store but of course their power was down as well. The woman at the register seemed bothered by us and I have to wonder if race was an issue—BIPOCs be aware.

Absolutely Great Amazing Awesome! We got this cabin for free (our friends got COVID and offered us to go in their stead), the only caveat being driving 4.5 hr from Seattle. We decided to make it a road trip and stayed in Yakima for one night to break the drive. The cabin's location is great, absolute middle of nowhere, very close to Mt. Adams. We got Crystal, the view from the cabin is just nice forest. Cabin has everything you need to live comfortably for many days. The team is very responsive, we arrived couple of hours before check-in time, we called them on a red phone and they cleaned the cabin early and let us in 1.5 hr before the time. I would definitely use their services again, they have another cabin closer to Seattle. If you have a dog, don't worry, within 5 min drive you can find enormous web of forest roads to walk for hours!

I’ll start this by saying, we want to go back. BUT, after driving 2.5 hours to spend my birthday here we were super disappointed in our assigned spot. It looked nothing at all like the photos in a forest environment, and our “little house on the prairie” became the laughing stock of the weekend as we definitely all agreed there was some false advertising going on. We were situated on the border of someone’s farm land and had one large tree within inches of our window offering us zero view unless we wanted to examine the leaves on one tree, closely, for hours on end. After walking the whole perimeter we realized we definitely got the worst available spots on the map, and it was disappointing because there were clearly many vacant houses. If you get your assignment I would request to not be at sites 7-9, Christine, Ruth (ours) or Morris. Spot 1, Diane, was also pretty close to the main road and seemed loud. Every other Getaway House (36 more of them) seemed pretty good. That being said, the provided amenities and actual getaway house were great. It had everything we needed and nothing we didn’t. The other people staying there observed the rules of being quiet and maintaining a peaceful environment unlike popular state park campsites which made me happy.I would go again, but would make a request to know my spot wasn’t going to be with the cows next time.

What a great place to just getaway for the weekend! We were there the weekend of January, 20-22 2023. What a relaxing weekend with no contact outside our little circle there. We received our cabin name and door passcode the morning of our arrival. We download the map of the park so when we got there we would know where to go once we got there. Believe them when they say that there is no cell or wifi service there. Also make sure you write down the door lock code before you go.We knew we'd be getting there later in the evening and let them know. Not only did they leave the porch light on for us, but they also had the heat on as well inside. That was very welcoming as it was below freezing outside when we got there. It actually never got above freezing the entire weekend.Once we got our supplies from the car to the cabin, my daughter had me make a fire in the firepit so she could make s'mores for everyone. (She was planning on living off s'mores for the weekend). We brought our own bundles of wood so we would not have to pay $8 per bundle to use theirs. The inside of the cabin is very comfy. We had the two bed version. So there was a queen bunk above the lower queen bunk. But both had enough head room that you could comfortably enough sit up and not bang your head on the ceiling above. The beds were very comfortable and plenty of pillows. We opted to do most of our cooking outside over the campfire. There's just something about the flavor imparted on your food from the fire. But we did use the two burner electric stove inside to make the hot chocolate and one of the sides for dinner one night.I can go on but I do not have the time right now to list all of the pluses of the Getaway Cabins in Glenwood WA. But the family was able to just connect with each other and enjoy our time with each other. The kids were complaining on the way there that the weekend wass going to be so boring and long. By the time we were leaving, they were complaining that we did not have enough time.We will be back!

We've been to the getaway cabins several times, and are about to go for the fourth time. Unfortunately the inability to pick a cabin can REALLY put a damper on the visit. We've tried multiple times, and have even recorded the names of the cabins that we like from walking around in order to request them, but we've never gotten one of our preferred cabins. We've given in a lot of tries, but I'm just not sure it's worth the very expensive bookings with the risk of getting a crummy assignment. Buyer beware.

we had a great time. it was really good to get away and unplug. of course my phone blew up on the way home, but that just reminded me of how much I missed (not missed) during our stay there. The cabins are not really near anything, so we drove towards mt adams and went on a long day hike. there's a few good hikes around to do. burn ban in effect, and it was chilly at night, so a lot of time indoors. The little cabin was very clean, and had enough to get through the stay without wanting. We got very lucky with our cabin placement on the Klickitat loop. I saw some cabins on the main road in, that were kind of just in a field. Also, people seem to drive very fast on the big loop. We got pretty dusted by a few vehicles while out walking. I would recommend trying this. We will do it again in one of the other locations.

The Getaway cabins are one of our favorite away from home stops, and the outpost near Glenwood/Mt. Adams is no exception. After grocery shopping in Hood River OR it took us about 45 minutes to an hour to reach the Getaway cabins. The location is secluded and quiet, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The cabins are in a great place to launch out and complete hikes, very close to Mt. Adams, Trout Lake, etc. We were able to find several hikes of varying difficulty over the course of the 3 days we were there. As a word of caution, we did not have cell service once we drove north of BZ Corners, so if you need to download hiking maps to your phone make sure you do so before leaving the Columbia River area. The cabins themselves are well appointed with pretty much everything you need for a stay - complete with a hot shower and flushing toilet, so it's pretty much glamping. Keep an eye on fire bans in the area, especially in the summer months. We weren't prepared for the burning ban, but we were able to adjust and cook inside the cabin. There's a lot to do in nature around the cabins, so if you're looking for a way to disconnect and unplug from day-to-day life, this is the place to go. At some point, we will definitely be back.

I booked a solo trip this past weekend and it was so comfortable, scenic, and quiet here. I was really impressed by the amenities (AC, heater, hot shower, fridge, kitchen), the minimalism (no cell service made it easy to get some quality reading done, but there's a landline if you need anything), and the thoughtful touches, like a handwritten welcome note. Will definitely be back soon!

Perfect place for unwinding yourself from work and dive into nature. No internet near by. There is only one glenwood convention store at 5 minute drive where you can find also find free wifi if you need for some ‘must-do’ calls. Otherwise no internet atleast in 1 hour radius distance. Must visit this cabin as it provides you experience of a lifetime.Cleanliness - 10/10Amenities - stove , sink, soap, paper towels, cutlery , cooking utensils, 2 chairs for outdoor, bed with huge window side by it, bathroom, small dining table and 2 chairs, books(must read ‘getting away’ by the CEO of John), 52 deck cards..Pardom me if I forgot something that they provide!Must visit!!!

******Update review for the 2nd visit*****We loved the first time stay here, so we came back. It ended up with over and over disappointments..- keypad code not working. There was NO CELLULAR SERVICE at getaway site. NO TEXT, NO CALL. The only way for us to contact getaway is to go to nearby general store to borrow landline, but the line was always busy and never went through!!!!! We went back to the campsite and luckily found someone to correct the issue. It was rainy and definitely not a great start to our ‘getaway’.- no doggie towels or snacks like previous stays. There is landline from our cabin so that’s what we tried to request the missing items… it was rainy so we didn’t want to make a messy place. They did send someone, but only delivered the towels. Still no doggie snacks.. also, the girl who delivered the towel had very bad attitude, and it seems like it’s a hassle of doing it..- overcharged logs. The nightmare didn’t stop after we got home. We got bills for the logs we didn’t use!!!!!!!!!! I can’t believe this is the experience we were having. It should be relaxing vacation but it ended up with issues, frustrations and disappointments. BE AWARE!!!!
