We love our trainer, Stephanie! Gigi has grown up visiting this location and attending training classes. She is on to the Advanced Training class at PetSmart. I would highly recommend their classes if you are willing to splurge on your pup.

Alicia at Gig Harbor Petsmart is the absolute best! She is so caring, attentive to details, kind and personable with not only the animals but provides extraordinary customer service. She is such an asset to PetSmart and our dog, Midori just loves coming to see her.

Great selection. Bought a ceramic pet food dish and dropped it in the parking lot. Went in to notify them that it would need clean up fully expecting that I just wasted my money. The clerk immediately offered me to pick out a new one at no charge

My cheap SunSun canister filter recently gave out, so I decided to get a Fluval 207 to replace it. I needed to make sure the inner hose diameter of the Fluval matched my SunSun hoses so I asked if we could open the Fluval in store to measure the hoses, and they were quite helpful with that. I did not inspect any other component, as this was a "new" product. Got home to find the power head had definitely been used. There is significant calcium buildup in the valves and all around the top, electrical tape around the cord, and a motor that rattles and barely works. Brought it back in to exchange, NOT REFUND, and was told that it's a manufacturer issue now and that I would need to contact them. Sitting here with a $150 paperweight and a call into customer service with a claim filed.Will update this review if the manager decides to make things right.Edit: took it to the Tacoma Petsmart after not hearing a word from management at Gig Harbor, listened to my experience and happily offered me a refund as they did not have the 207 in stock. Ended up buying from Petco and received a brand new product. Works perfectly. Big props to the tacoma Petsmart manager!

Aside from the fact that the dog treats I bought there were due to expire only two weeks after I bought them I am giving this location a 1-star review because of the following occurrence: I ordered the "Top Fin Clear Vivid View Aquarium" online and for whatever reason it arrived missing the lid which, since this is a kit, also has the light and filter for the tank integrated into it. I took it into this location for return/exchange and it would've been no big deal, annoying but stuff happens, except that while I was exchanging it for a gift card the manager seriously tried to lie to me with a straight face and tell me that I was lucky he was helping me at all because I probably stole it and kept it because people are ...stealing the lid in order to keep the integrated filter that is in it?! I could've bought/understood that story, because people are wacky and cheap, but not with this specific product and how it is designed/made, haha. I guess he either doesn't know the product and/or aquariums well enough to understand that he was suggesting people are... I don't even know... duct-taping or otherwise weirdly rigging a large awkward piece of plastic on top of their tanks in order to have a relatively mediocre and very small filter for their tank instead of just using the tank it is made for and fits perfectly in OR he just thinks so poorly of all of his customers that he really thinks he can just make things up to excuse his reluctance to deal with having some marked out inventory count against him for some internal metric and I wouldn't know enough to know any better.I've worked retail management myself for years and this doesn't pass the smell test because this whole kit cost under $60 and nice filters by themselves can cost multiple hundreds of dollars - if people are going to steal stuff they're going to pick the very nice, very expensive filter that is easily positioned in any tank and can just be slipped into a backpack. They aren't going to buy and then take home and then try to return an entire tank kit for a filter that isn't very good, only would work for the absolute smallest sizes of tanks, doesn't cost very much, has absolutely no resale or trade value, and is literally an inseparable part of a lid that specifically only fits on this *one* tank - it's similar to someone coming back to McDonald's and asking for food to be remade because your burger was actually missing the patties and the manager then getting mad at you and suggesting you stole the patties out of it and going on to claim that it's a very common situation for people to buy a McDonald's cheeseburger, remove the patty and then try to return the burger to get money back since the patty is so good people want to take it home and BBQ it like a T-bone steak without paying for it! LOL give me a break. So, the 1 star review is for that bizarre addition to what could've just stayed an unfortunate situation where the reality is that I made a purchase but never received a working/functioning product with all of the included components that I paid for - and then the management at this store location "managed" to make that experience even worse and more distasteful. Bizarre and silly enough to be borderline outrageous.Go to the Gig Harbor Petco instead, at least they either aren't this dumb or don't think you are.

PetSmart is always clean and neat, the employees are friendly and helpful. My dog has some heart issues and PetSmart is right on top of it when he gets groomed. 5 stars and 5 ❤'s.

I have shopped here many times and have always found what I was looking for. The prices do seem a little high in my opinion but they do keep almost everything in stock. I've also attended the dog training programs they offer. Thr program was great for my pet and he learned alot. The instructor was pleasant and knowledgeable. I've also found thr staff to be kind and helpful most of thr time.

Went in to buy a single fancy fan tail gold fish today. The girl asked, "What size is your tank?" We said 18 gal planned for this one right now. She proceeded to tell us it's not big enough due to the waste it creates and tried to sell us some genetically modified glowing tetra that needs special light and heating... we said no, go ahead and scoop up the original fish we asked for. She said "I cannot actually sell you that fish since your tank is too small. 1 fish for 18 gal is not enough, but y'all got 18 in a 3 gal tank right now...🙃🤯 girl you got no business asking what I have in my house thank you. We wanted to put one in 8 gallons for now, but have a 250 gal tank in the garage we're currently creating. One fish and plant at a time.The fish she was trying to sell us needs warm ambient Temps of 74 degrees plus. 😒 we don't keep our house that warm.

Now impressed at this store. I was in town and needed a basket muzzle and they didn't carry muzzles😖. The lakewood store did have them in all sizes. I mean what type of pet store doesn't carry dog muzzles🤷🏽

Every staff member I've run into at this PetSmart has been kind and welcoming. I don't have much need to buy pet supplies, but my nephew loves coming in to look at the fishies, snakes and birdies. Even though it's probably clear I'm not buying anything, the staff still seem happy to see me. I look forward to our next visit!

They won’t let you get a prescription for your pet unless you get your pet seen there. The veterinarian was not the friendliest person either.

I booked my dog last minute (night before) and they got me in right away. They asked very thorough and thoughtful questions to make sure they knew what I wanted for his haircut. He is a schnauzer shihtzu mix and can be a little wonky to cut into the traditional schnauzer cut. They made him look (and smell!!) absolutely beautiful. Also, I was late picking him up and they were SO kind about it even though I am sure they were more than ready to go home after a long day. This was the best grooming experience I have had in the 7 years I have had dogs. Highly recommend.

Just took my dog Bentley in to be groomed for the first time at this location. So easy and such great customer service! When being checked in they were super thorough when checking my dogs vet records, which is such a good sign! So thank you!!! Jennifer groomed my dog, she was currently being trained but she did so good. She was so nice and I could tell my dog liked her. Will be coming back hoping Jennifer is there to rebook with her!

The staff is so friendly! I was welcomed as soon as I walked in, and help was offered without being pushed on me. The in-store shopping experience was great, but my online order for pickup wasn't right so I had to go back to get it fixed. Online order for pickup sounds convenient, but if you're willing to shop in store you'll get what you need the first time.

I have a 37gal well established live plant tank. 2 hob filters enough for 100 gal.Some of the fish are 7-8yo. I got 4 glowlights, 1 juli Cory cat and 1 female crown tail beta to augment our aquarium about 06/11. I have been picking out dead fish, old and new at almost a daily basis. I just pulled out the last 2 von rio tetras, dead. The tank chemistry looks good/ph a little low. The tank has always been like that. No fish look in distress.

We take our 1 year old Frenchton here for his nail clipping about once a month and they do a fantastic job, even thought he's scared to go every time. Store is well taken care of and well stocked. Thanks PetSmart!

Clean store, great sales deals! Would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the long, red-haired manikin they posted at the check-out. No facial expression, no expression whatsoever. No, "Hello, thank you, you're welcome," or "Have a nice day." Sad this is becoming the norm. Whatever happened to enforcing top-notch customer service?

I've been here several times very nice pet store at ton of food for whatever animal you have. The people here are always friendly and helpful the store is clean and brightly lit up it's a good place to go and get your supplies.

Finding a local groomer can be hard to do with online mixed reviews. It's a busy job at a place like Petsmart and their jobs are extremely difficult as they work with sharp objects and moving targets. I appreciate the grooming services given by Alicia and Dustin for my Cavachon, Rocket. The shampoo smells so nice but also is not overpowering. They train new students periodically and the instructor is very good at her job, too. The sales reps have always been very friendly as well. Thank you, Petsmart, for your services.

The store looks nice unfortunately it appears that the most of the people that work there need more customer service Training. The young man that took care of my dog and shampooed him did an outstanding job and seemed to be the only associate that has good people skills.

This PetSmart is ok. The staff is not always the friendliest and they often seem annoyed by the customers. The store is quite clean and the grooming crew do an amazing job on the animals. The grooming crew makes it worth the trip to this location but for any other services I'd probably visit another location or go across the street to Mud Bay for food and treats.

We were doing some research on puppy food and went to see what Pet Smart had to offer. We were warmly greeting by the staff and offered a bevy of samples. They also gave advise and we toured the aisles. On our way out we were acknowledged and one person even ran after us to give us the one sample that fell out of our cart. Prices were fair and they had the things we were looking for. Will return!
