They know dogs by name on sight.My name is simply "Solo's Mom".They love the dogs, and the dogs love this place. Solo is transitioning from "OMG! You've taken me to the pound! How could you?!" To "My people! I've arrived!"They give me updates and feedback on my doggo's behavior and how he's eating every time I pick him up, so if he has a problem he needs to visit the vet for I'm likely to spot the problem much sooner than when I just left my dog at home while I was at work. Highly recommend this service.

We love Our Best Friend for our dog Luna. She has been going there occasionally since she was young. Now at 10 yrs old, she still gets excited when we take her there. The staff are friendly to us and loving to Luna. As you can see she takes her visits very seriously 😊 . We know she is always safe and happy at Our Best Friend!

Easily the best place I've ever boarded my dog. They took amazing care of my puppy and I've brought him back several times. Each time I bring him back he gets insanely excited when we pull up, and that's how I know he really loves it here. I sometimes think Baldur likes being here more than he likes being at home!As if that wasn't enough, they paid such close attention they noticed a small behavior change, and I was able to take him to the vet and get him taken care of. Bring your dog here. Trust me.

I'm sure the people here will take very good care of your dog, but I'll never know. I just moved here and was looking for a place to board my dog during the holiday. I made a reservation for my dog and was informed that somebody would call me in a few days to have him come in for an evaluation and to see how he behaves prior to boarding. Nobody ever called. I called 3 times over the period of 2 weeks and was told that somebody would get back to me. It never happened. I know boarding facilities fill up quick for the holidays and I didn't want to wait until the last minute. I finally found another boarding place and booked there. I called to let Doggie Daycare know to take me off of the list. Nobody was ever rude. I do see on their website that they are pretty busy. All well and good, but then just tell me. I'm good with that. As it is, they lost a future customer.

I am changing my review from 5 stars to 3He was here for 24 hours with feeding instructions and was only fed one meal out of the three I provided.My dog Bruce has gone to both locations and neither is bad; but we do really prefer this one. They walk the dogs instead of letting them out; which is better than the other location where they let them out but not on grass and my dog isn't going to poop on concrete unless he can't hold it in anymore.Other than that there isn't much difference between the two - most of the staff is really great and remember Bruce even if we haven't been in for over a month. I've seen some of the same people at both locations. The pricing is extremely reasonable! And it's just so nice to have a place to drop my dog where I know he'll have a good time. It's not just about dropping your dog off for the day; it's a big play date.

We have been taking our dog to Our Best Friend for 7 years. I appreciate the personalized care and service. We are always impressed with the friendliness and care of the staff. They greet our dog by name. We get stories of what he did when we pick him up. We know he is well cared for.

Our best friend doggie daycare has been a home away from home for our sweet husky, Rainier. While we are at work the team does a great job socializing and caring for our pup. The team goes above and beyond to help make rainier safe. Everyone is always nice and understanding especially Sara, who goes above an beyond to make sure dogs are in good hands. Our experience at this daycare is a 10/10!

This is the best place in Gig Harbor to leave your dogs for a few hours, a whole day, or overnight. The employees all love dogs and do their best to make your favorite companion happy and comfortable. Call for reservations, as they fill up fast. All dogs must be vaccinated and evaluated by the staff before they can stay there.

My dog likes it here however after his first visit he got a type of kennel cough even though he's had all his shots. So either another dog owner of a small dog brought their pooch in sick with active kennel cough or they don't clean & disinfect as much as they should each day to prevent the spread of it. The staff is nice and I will continue to bring my dog but just be aware they do have kennel cough going around their facilities as they state at the front desk. So if your pooch is immune compromised I wouldn't bring him here just because I'm not sure if it's irresponsible pet owners of gig harbor or just the facilities are not cleaned frequently enough with bleach.

They are a wonderful group of people. All of the dogs arriving were super excited to go through the gate. Prices are fair and reasonable. The Gig Harbor location has a separate area for little dogs whereas the Purdy location the dogs are all together.

Everybody here is awesome and you can tell they truly love what they do and have a passion for working with animals. My dog loves coming here and is always so tired out from playing non stop when I pick him up. I love that they allow you to watch your dogs playing through their cameras. It helps if you are on a long trip to be able to see them having fun :)

The owner is a very sweet and caring lady who really seems to want to take care of all your issues if any arise and I assure you, none will. The manager of the facilities is passionate about what she does, kind and loving with the dogs but can come off as harsh when interacting with people but I am sure she means well. Overall, my dog and I love this place and everybody who works here.

Our EB's are shy and we were not sure about being able to have them go to daycare. But they worked with them and now, they are so excited when we pull up. We had them groomed this week and they have never been so soft and there faces are so clean. I love the Christmas bows that they attached onto their collars.

Our little ones love it here .. they can't wait to arrive and once there, they can't get out of the car fast enough to get thru the doors and to the back. They are usually in the little dog room but sometimes go into the big dog room as they love being with the bigger dogs. When they stay over night they love running down the halls and between the rooms, which they usually let them do in the evenings. It's also nice that we can check in on them with the room cameras on our phones when we're out and about to make sure they're having fun. We have been taking them here since they were about 6 months old and only about 4 & 6 pounds. We were concerned because of their size, both with the other dogs and because they could sneak thru baby gates as they are "runners", however, the staff has always watched them and have been cautious of it. They are in closed half door rooms during the day and then in a back sleep room with a staff member at night so we haven't had any problems. Would recommend 🐶🐾

5.0 star rating2/8/2018It takes a lot for me to actually sit and write up a review. My dog, Hannah has been going here since she was a puppy....9 years ago....I would not have been able to have her if it were not for OBF. She has been a train wreck since she was born....she always has some sort of medical issues. The staff here through the years has changed, but they are always the best. Currently Tess and Stacy are my go to people. Hannah has had seizures/head tremors on and off for years. She recently started having them more often. Stacy told me about her parents dogs who also have seizures and give them CBD oil. It has helped her quite a bit, and I would never have known about this otherwise. She doesn't mind taking time to talk with me about her and answer multiple questions. She is also the most knowledgeable about her when I bring her in for overnights, and I see her notes to the other employees about her medication...which changes often and can be a pain. Tess, also knows Hannah inside and out. It helps to have them here and I feel really good when I have to leave them for days at a time. My other dog, Horton is an abused, neurotic rescue who I have had for about 6 years. He was terrified of strangers but has made SO many friends with the people here. He cries in the car when we get close and jumps out of the car so fast he drags me with him.. This is his very favorite place and everyone here has been very patient with him. He has come a long way because of them. He just adores them all now. I thank them all for their caring for my babies. I wouldn't leave them anywhere else.

My husband and I have been taking our dog, “Kai” there for 2 years now, and I would recommend Our Best Friends to anyone and everyone! The staff is amazing and always treats our dog like he is one of their own. It’s great to know that our dog is in wonderful hands when at OBF.

I love Our Best Friend for a million reasons. Gracie has been staying here for over 3 years. I am thrilled with the attention she receives. She is excited when she goes. They are excellent regarding personal requests. On her overnights she gets to sleep and cozy-in with the overnight person. When I am away I can check in on the web cams and see how she is doing. The staff is wonderful. They send pictures at a moment's request. Gracie gets a lot of socialization and I know she is in great hands. I wouldn't consider leaving her anywhere else.

I have seen the pro's and con' s, our experiences, and their have been many, plesent atmosphere and staff, animals are always ready to go in and excited to play, our Golden is the first to the car if she knows she gets to go play with her friends. We have no complaints, Just gratitude that someone cares well for our GIRL....

Pretty disappointed to say the least which is sad because i have loved the result when my dog has been groomed here. This month i have had two appointments cancelled with no warning and no call from Amber to reschedule. Very unreliable and very unprofessional.

My dog pulls me into this place! He is so happy when I bring him. I live in another county but when I visit family nearby, I leave him so he can play and socialize. There's a senior discount, too. Wish they were closer to me.

Don't worry they won't take your pup even without an assessment if they are a pit breed at all.... guess I'll find another daycare to take my giant baby 12 month old pit mix too since he has never had an issue with other dogs or people...
