Metropolitan Market in Gig Harbor is a great place for fresh, delicious food in a clean and friendly environment. They have a wide variety of local and seasonal produce, as well as a deli with a wide selection of meats, cheeses, and prepared foods. The eating area is also great, with plenty of seating and a friendly staff. I highly recommend checking it out!

This is a seemingly high-end grocery store. We got “The Cookie” and were hit disappointed. We also got some chocolate-graham crackers which have been yummy. The store had a great stock and selection. Prices were not too far out of a normal range, but they did seem to have a larger selection of options I had not seen previously, including local producers. The pre-made foods seemed very nice and the bakery, meats, produce, and cheese all seemed high quality. I think this is a good store to visit if you have refined taste or are struggling to find a certain product at a normal grocery store.

Metropolitan Market is another place we decided to stop at on our way home from Seattle.Metropolitan Market has the reputation of being more of an upscale supermarket. They offer many natural and organic items and essential daily items you usually find in a regular supermarket. As we walked in, my first impression was this store was aesthetically pleasing to the eye.Beautiful little bakery, a friendly little coffee shop, an attractive produce department, a very appealing-looking meat department, and a gorgeous floral department!Although not spending a lot of time in this supermarket, and I am writing this review as a first time visitor, it reminded me of a Central Market, Sprouts, or maybe even a Trader Joe's, but a little more upscale. The Metropolitan Market prices did seem a little higher than most general markets. Still, as of right now, prices are higher everywhere, so I guess the question is, are they offering higher quality, more unusual, hard-to-get items? Is it due to supply and demand, location of the store, how about tariffs? Perhaps ramifications from Covid? What about all the above? If the item or items is something you want or need and they offer it but maybe at a little bit higher cost, are you really going to waste gas trying to "shop around"?The staff we spoke to were friendly and knowledgeable. The store clean and what we could tell organized. They have a wonderful little coffee shop. And yes, I had to purchase an iced latte from it; I ordered it plain; it was a decent iced latte with little to no aftertaste; it was intense but not bitter, full-bodied, and with mild acidness. Overall I would rate it a four-stir stick coffee ;)I bet they purchase their beans from a local roaster; I believe Cutters is nearby; it tasted very familiar, not having tried it before, and Cutters kicks out some great beans! If I am ever in Gig Harbor again, which I know I will be eventually, I will go back and explore their store a little more! You can find Metropolitan Market at 5010 Point Fosdick Drive, in the Harbor Plaza in Gig Harbor, Washington. It shares space with several other businesses; honestly, it was a maze to us!"Please be kind to ALL living things!!!"

Just checked out Met Market that opened today.Best fried chicken sandwich in Gig Harbor.. Not sure who the competition is, but this one was super tasty. 😛Another quick tip, their 50th anniversary Red Blend is on sale for $20 off, and apparently it is made by Mark Ryan cellars in Walla Walla. 🍷Store looks pretty sweet. Love the ramen and poke bar. They also are supporting local and have Milk Vue donuts.Seafood and meat displays are also on point.Nice addition to the Harbor! 🙏😉

I love this grocery store. It's clean, the staff are very friendly, and it's stocked with lots of specialty, organic, and lifestyle ingredients and food. But for "regular" groceries, it's considerably overpriced, so shop elsewhere for those.

In my opinion the met market in Tacoma is better. Staff is friendly and the store here is bigger but I feel like the produce for some reason is fresher or just better. I don’t know if it’s cause Tacomas is busier and things sell quicker but I’ve had many cases of things going bad quicker or accidentally buying things that had already gone bad. I also hate that the salad bar isn’t just open for people to access at this one.

My husband got a $40 cake here for my birthday and this was what it looked like when we got home. Since the baker never mentioned “I’m not too experienced writing on cakes or I don’t have great penmanship” my husband didn’t bother to check, thinking it would look nice, and they also didn’t offer to show him just handed it to him. I recommend not having them write on your cake or check it fist, we were too embarrassed to serve this at the event so had we grab something else unseated. Very disappointed, but they are resolving the problem for us thankfully.

I have to say after a rough start a year ago...This is my go to place for flowers 💐I get flowers for my girl on the regular and where you can save $$$ some where else you will be back to buy more before I will.Let me say it again the flowers are so beautiful and last for weeks... So I save on trips to the store and buy less flowers and they also look amazing... win win winPicture included

Good place to shop if you have more money than sense. Ridiculously inflated prices on everything in the store.

It's a great, but pricey store, parking at times can be problematic. Clean restrooms, excellent coffee and staff all around. The draw back for me is that , though they have a beautiful coffee shop, there is no wifi for my ipad .

Wow. The food is beyond anything I have ever eaten. I cried over the coffee and the premade soup corn poblano was beyond satisfying, better than what I make at home. It had that extra pizazz. We are economical shoppers and decided to spend our money on the meat department, coffee, and produce. The meat is beautiful. I have never seen meat in this area as beautiful as they have at Metropolitan Market. And the produce is literally better than anywhere else, soo fresh I could hardly believe it. And the flowers are exquisite, almost unreal. We were hesitant in trying it, but we are soo glad we did and got a recommendation and they were right; the food and drink is astounding, a truly amazing masterpiece. We are from the Port Orchard area. And the customer service is wonderful and welcoming. God has satisfied my mouth with good things and my youth is renewed like the eagles with the food and drink from Metropolitan Market. I am so grateful you are in Gig Harbor. Thank you soo very much. My husband and I look forward to trying your hot food and salad bar, what a selection! Wow! A nice lunch or early dinner date option.

Awesome met market. Not the biggest one, but big enough for whatever you need. Parking lot is spacious as well.

I love shopping here. I have been a frequent customer since their grand opening. Every single staff member is friendly and will go the extra mile to make sure you find what you are looking for. The store is organized and clean.Lots of organic options in the produce section and throughout the store. A nice selection of kitchen tools and cookware as well.Bathrooms are kept very clean and easily accessible. This store has to be my favorite place to shop, in all of my years and in all of the cities I have lived in.

Awful store. Rude employees. Out of advertised products. Would not substitute for same priced items. Makes you appreciate stores like Fred Meyer, Costco and Albertsons. Will not return to this penny pinching, overpriced store. If you're going to have bad policies, at least be polite!

The store has a great selection and the staff are super friendly. We had many questions about the meats and the gentleman that helped us was so patient and kind and truly interested in helping us find what we want.We also appreciate the strict enforcement of a mask policy. I am high risk and it is hard for me to feel safe in public. Thank you!

Had a nice lunch and great coffee. The 'Pathfinder' in store Merchandiser was very professional and really knew his product! After tasting the 'elixir', we are new converts and will be buying this excellent non-alcoholic aromatic spirit. Cheers!

The deli is not good. I ordered trays for an event and did not get what I wanted after giving very specific instructions. The seafood counter has very nice employees, but the filleted fish are all full of bones. Kind of disappointing for the cost. I hope it's just growing pains for the chain.

I've shopped here about twenty times since it opened. The plusses: some unique deli, meat and fish offerings you won't find elsewhere in Gig Harbor; good assortment of specialty brand dairy, canned and frozen products; very helpful friendly employees. The only negative is the pricing on what I would call everyday food items. Nothing unique about them and easily available at other grocery stores for a way, way lower price.

I went in today to get the Ramen (which is delicious!) but Gage sold me on the pad Thai noodle pot… and it did not disappoint! Love the ease of grabbing lunch real quick, always friendly staff and great food!

Very Disappointing. Definitely not like the other Metropolitan Markets. I don't mind paying more for specialty items and for great service. We went here opening week, when you would think the staff would be extra friendly and over zealous to help. That was far from what we experienced. If you don't wear a mask, you will be asked to leave, regardless of your medical status.Discrimination at its finest..☹

Decided to use the coupon they mailed to purchase some halibut. The price wasn't a huge bargain, but the fish was delicious and the meal for the two of us was definitely cheaper than if we'd both ordered it in a restaurant. They also had a more than adequate supply of the fish unlike some other stores that run out the first day and don't restock.

I wish there was some consistency with the ramen bar… some days its open some days its not. Some times they put a sign up saying its closed some days i wait at the counter for a few minutes just to be told it’s actually closed even though it looks open? Does the ramen bar operate under different hours then the rest of the service departments? Very confusing.

Update: Normally go in for milk and water twice a week. Cashier Caroline had a seriously bad attitude. She wouldn't talk to me at all or let me bag my own grocieries with my own bag. How do people get away with this terrible service experience? Coffee has gotten better though.
