I've been a regular customer at the Ace Hardware store in Gig Harbor, WA, and have always appreciated the variety of products, especially around the holiday season. On my recent visit, I encountered a situation that I feel needs addressing.I entered the store with my 3-year-old Labradoodle, as I've done on previous occasions, to pick up Christmas decorations. I was unaware of any pet policy, as I had not been informed during past visits and hadn't noticed any signage. During shopping, an employee, from a distance, informed me that dogs were not allowed in the store. This was surprising, not only to me but also to other shoppers, due to the manner in which it was communicated.I understand and respect that every business has the right to establish its own rules, and I immediately complied by leaving the store. However, I feel the situation could have been handled more professionally. A calm and direct approach would have been less disruptive and more considerate, both to me and other customers present.While I won't be returning due to this experience, I believe this feedback can be an opportunity for improvement in customer communication and clarity in store policies. Making the pet policy more visible and training staff on how to politely enforce it could enhance the shopping experience for all customers.Thank you for taking the time to consider this feedback.

I just can't believe how much stuff this store has. No, they don't have everything, but they will have 90% of what you need for that project, whether it's building a shed or organizing your kitchen. I do Christmas shopping here every year and always manage to find at least one thing for everyone on my list. Also, they have an excellent selection of Yeti gear (just a tad pricier than online).

Great new store set-up and product offerings. The only thing is that the exterior sign still reads "Food Market ", which leads one to believe the conversion is still in progress, but the interior transformation appears complete. So a little confusing.🤔

The people here are so friendly and helpful! Old fashion customer service! I especially love the plants that they bring in. They have a great selection of reasonably priced and healthy plants. The people who work here are very knowledgeable in every department!

Should have came here first rather than Home Depot was able to get in and out of Ace Hardware with under 2 minutes with the right valve when I spent over an hour and didn't get any help at Home Depot definitely should have came here first

Went for a propane fire pit. They had one for $179.00. I looked on Ace’s website and they had the EXACT same model for $129.99 on sale for $99.99 - available to ship to the GH store. Salesperson asked the manager and they wouldn’t honor the online price of the online sale price. Asked me to pay almost double.I would double check your prices online. I’m not shopping here again.

Full service hardware store that is very well stocked. For example came in to purchase replacement fire box for my Big Green Egg. Service representative came to help and found the 2 replacement parts l needed. Thank you!

This location has friendly and helpful service staff. They have always been helpful to me to accomplish my tasks. They communicate with each other by talking loud or using their radio comm devices. If an employee needs to refer myself to another department they communicate with the department and then I am greeted by the employee in that department. Their help is so seamless due to their ability to communicate with each other. Great Team Work. I also have found the product pricing to be competitive with any other big box store. Great customer experience!

Almost all Ace Hardwares are great stores, but this one in particular is HUGE, with an incredible selection, and the customer service (as usual for Ace) is top-shelf. I'm stoked that this is my local hardware store.

Have what I need most of the time. Their return process is kinda annoying and inconvenient. Recently purchased a pellet rifle and had to be escorted to the front. Seriously? It’s in a box for crying out loud

A bit more expensive than the big box stores but worth it. Great service, and good selection. When doing projects around the house and need that "one" part, more often than not, Ace will have it. Only thing I would wish for would be a wider selection of basic lumber supplies (2x6, 4x4, full sheets of ply). Would shop there much more if they did.

Super nice Ace Hardware, made fancier by the fact that it has a large selection of touristy items as well as what you'd find in a HomeGoods or TJMaxx (home and kitchen section). Convenient location near other nice shops, nice employees.

This place is great! Friendly service, and plenty of it, always highlight my trip to Ace. And the selection! I don't know how they managed to cram so many different items from so many different genres and needs, in to such a tiny footprint but they figure out a way! The only downside is the price, on average they are 15% to 25% more than any of the big box chain stores. But you're paying for wonderful customer service and convenience. Most aces are located in or close to the Heart of the City.

The most elegant, beautiful, well stocked and clean Ace Hardware I've ever been in. Service was wonderful as we were asked 4-5 times if we needed help or assistance. We were just having fun wondering and looking at the huge selection. Awesome store! We'll be back for sure! Thanks Ace!!

Went to shop for a Stihl chainsaw and got the red carpet treatment. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Ended up getting a combo set up as well for edging and blowing. They do a mini training on how to use the product and take care of the warranty registration as well. Feeling good with whole experience. Recommending them highly!!!

It seems like we can always find what we need at this Ace Hardware store when the other two big name hardware stores fail us. Be prepared to pay a higher price here, though not always. I especially like their housewares and gift departments. I always find useful things while my husband is on the hunt for that one thing he can't find elsewhere.

Every time I come in here I'm followed around and I do not like it. They will come up to me and I will tell them I am okay and do not need help and they will stand there right next to me till I'm done shopping. Why don't they do it to anyone else? It's very uncomfortable and annoying. The worst part is I come here often and they know me at this point. I've spent over 300 just the passed week so I don't get their need to hover. I know what I came here for. I said I do not need help politely so please, go find someone else to help. I have a sensory and social disorder that makes it difficult for me to be around people and they just make it 10x worse when im in there. And it's pointlessly expensive.

Absolutely horrendous floor staff. They literally will follow you around constantly, stand right up on you in a pandemic, and then when told that I will find them if I need help, he indicated that he is protecting products.Someone needs to appropriately train staff. If you treat all of your regular customers as potential thief's, why would anyone want to shop there. Back to the big box stores I go.
