Susie’s Mopeds is a fun way to tour Friday Harbor. There are several types of vehicles you can choose to rent: mopeds, scoot coupes (2 seaters), Chevy Trackers (small sport vehicle), electric mopeds and electric bikes.Last spring, my husband and I rented individual mopeds, which was a lot of fun! There is a 48-mile island loop you can do, but we opted to take our time and just went to a few sites on the west side of the island, using the sight-seeing map provided. This took most of the day, so I’d recommend you do a day rental so you can be leisurely on your excursion.I enjoyed our moped touring experience and can’t wait to take my family on another island adventure during the summer!TIP: Definitely book in advance online if you can, especially in the summer months when they tend to be busiest... 😉

Such a great and fun way to truly experience the island! It was a smooth process making the reservation in advance as well as picking up the rentals. We took out the electric bikes for a few hours on the island and got to experience the Limekiln Lighthouse viewpoint as well as the Pelinda Lavender Farm. We were given a helpful and beneficial run-down tutorial of the bikes thanks to a friendly gentleman who works there, making it easier for us to navigate the island on the rentals. Everyone we encountered who worked there was very kind as well!We wish we had more time to explore everything else the island has to offer, but the rentals themselves were so smooth and essential to getting around. Next time we plan on taking the mopeds or Scoot Coupe’s out!

We were on the island for lunch from a whale watching tour and saw these little red vehicles driving around that looked like they were from Whoville! We instantly searched rentals and found Susie’s.We walked over and told them we were pressed for time and they took care of us FAST!Driving the coupe around San Juan Island was one of the best experiences my wife and I have ever had. It’s the most beautiful place we have ever been! The staff at Susie’s is fantastic and we hope to come back someday.

Rented a tracker from Suzie's Mopeds. All went well, this vehicle is more of a jeep and can be fully enclosed. If the weather is a factor, it's nice to have the cover. The stick shift can take a little time to get smooth (they did have an automatic), but the vehicle ran fine. There are less restrictions on the roads you can travel with the trackers, opposed to a moped.Their website provides all the info and release forms, which I recommend you complete before you arrive - it will save time.Susi's location is a five minute walk from the ferry, so very convenient.

We had such a great experience here! The employees were so kind, patient, and helpful, you could tell they genuinely cared and enjoy what they are doing. They do a great job of training and practicing with you to make sure you are comfortable and can safely operate their mopeds. I wasn't a natural with the single rider moped so they moved us into the electric vehicle which was the last available option they had that day. The electric vehicle turned out perfect for us, it felt safe and allowed us to ride together and communicate on the road better.We left our car at the anacortes terminal and drove around the island in this for the day. Best experience and day trip, highly recommend!

THE BEST DAY EVER!! What a fun way to see the island. We had a blast. The staff at Susie’s were professional and so friendly. After seeing their business as we walked around town, we went in to check it out. They were more than happy to answer our questions and let us sit in the two different options to help us make our decision. We chose the electric moped as it was easier to get in and out of. We spent the whole day exploring the island at our pace. The map they gave us was so helpful. Wouldn’t want to see the island any other way. Highly recommend this company and this adventure!! Great place to rent mopeds and explore the island. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made sure you're comfortable with the moped before sending you off on your adventure.We decided to come here to celebrate my birthday and for me to get comfortable riding a lighter moped to practice basic maneuvers before I start my MSF course.Overall I had a great time cruising around the island and now I feel more prepared for my upcoming course.Thanks for helping me unlock a core memory Susie's Moped!

Visiting Susie's Mopeds and touring the whole island in style is a must. Never rode a scooter before? No problem. They literally teach you and make sure you got it down and are comfortable doing so before you leave. They rent more than just scooters too. There's something for everyone. Great customer service and a great way to see the island. Highly recommend you add this during your trip to San Juan Island!!!!!

Rented a scoot coupe and had a great experience with the staff at the front counter. Followed their guided map and visited almost all the destinations and must see sites. Equipment performed well over the three-four hour duration and drivers on the road were aware, courteous, and friendly of our presence.

So fun. My husband and I rented the coup scooter. Unfortunately, 2 hours into our all day, our scooter broke down in the country. However, when we called they sent a new scooter out to us and we were able to enjoy the rest of our day. They discounted our trip due to the troubles. We had a really fun time and it was a great way to explore the island. It was the highlight of our trip for sure.

I had the time of my life thanks to them! This was an awesome activity to do. We rented them for the entire day and went around the entire island and had so much fun! You have to sign a waiver and watch a video that will show you how to go around the island and the moppet also comes with a map that you can check at all times. We did not use an entire tank of gas more like a half of it, we then filled it up and returned them before they closed at 6. I highly recommend this fun activity to do (please be careful, some people in front of us didn't know how to handle a moppet and the staff couldn't let her go knowing she could hurt herself and someone else) but it is something that I would love to repeat frequently! Too bad they're not in Seattle area

What a wonderful way to see the island. We highly suggest the vendor for both the quality of bike and instruction we received on how to use the bikes. They make sure you know how to use the bikes before leaving the lot. Riding along the ocean views on the little red bikes was just a blast. Best decision we made on the island.

This was such an awesome day! The Scoot Coupe were so much fun for the ladies! Suzie and Co. where there and very nice. We din't make reservations like we should have (didn't know about making them), but we ended up getting called from the wait list and the day was not lost!!! Was so much fun to go around the island.I would most def do this again. Thanks Suzie!!!

What a fun way to experience San Juan Island! The team does a great job of training you before you hit the road. They spend one on one time with each rider, ensuring you don't leave unless they are comfortable with your abilities. You can easily see the entire island (and then some) within one day if you plan it out. Unless you own a real motorcycle, this is the way to go!

Taking ScootCoupes and a moped out for the day was SO MUCH FUN! My sister wanted to do this on her last day of vacation, so we went over as a group of 5 without a reservation on a Wednesday and were quickly accommodated. I'd recommend making a reservation first because they do seem to rent everything out fast. Our training consisted of an overview of the highlighted route and a thorough demonstration of how to use the mopeds and how to stay safe. We smiled and laughed so much that we may have to come back for more next summer.

I had a wonderful time cruising around the island on a moped! The roads here were great for riding with gentle curves and good views. They provide a full face motorcycle helmet, minus visor, and give a brief lesson on how to ride the moped. If you don't ride bicycles very often it might be a little scary since they don't have a good place in the parking lot to practice turns, but they do offer other four wheeled rentals if desired.

No better way to explore the island! Outstanding customer service from Susie's staff...I was on a wait-list (call them to book a reservation in advance! Though they're happy to put you on a waiting list if you haven't planned!) and they got me hooked up with the first cancellation and were so helpful throughout the booking process.I have no experience with Mopeds but the instructor was incredibly patient and attentive. I felt confident she was helping me prepare for any possible encounter and I felt great heading out with everything I needed to have a safe and fun time exploring the island!They give you a map of your route; the island takes 2.5 hours to cruise through with no stops but we stopped everywhere for long enough to learn and explore and spent about 6 hours out on the bikes.Honestly, I'm so excited to recommend Susie's to my friends and to rent from them again soon!!!

We had great time with their moped. Also very friendly service. I got "Happy Birthday!" banner, we got honks and "happy birthday" calls from locals. it made to add more fun factors.Pretty easy for drive even if no experience of a scooter.Their shop is located very convinient for pick up and retuen, 5 minutes walk from the ferry terminal.We would love to do it again.

We rented mopeds for the whole day (9am to 5pm) and it was a little over $200 (for 2 people combined) which I think was WELL worth it. The staff was super friendly, explained everything really well and it was a great experience. There is a main trail you are told to follow (but that trail is the perimeter of the island and it has everything the island has to offer. Definitely recommend!!

Nice staff, pretty good equipment. Scoot coup is ok, smokey and unstable. No reverse and it says you shouldn’t go over 25mph, ok but the locals go at least 5-10 over on the roads (45mph limit). If people don’t pass you are told to pull over but there isn’t enough room on the side before the grass and ditch so it can be dangerous. Not to mention the big trucks and semis that regularly run the main roads which you are restricted to (not allowed on side roads). Consider bringing your car for more freedom, safety and less cost

Wish we had thought of this sooner. We did a spur of the moment rental at the end of the day but even with just an hour and a half rental we got to go down to the south end of the island, see a fox, stunning views over the water and make it back a few minutes after closing with no issues! Next time we will definitely do the full island with these Mopeds!

Long ish wait but smooth sailing once I hopped on. Super fun time solo mopeding around the island! I would give yourself 5-6 hours to do the loop if you plan on stopping along the South Beach loop. I'll definitely be back!

We rented the scoot coupe, and had a lot of fun exploring the island on it. They provide you with a map that marks all the major points of interest, which really helps. The scooter was kind of hard to drive though. It doesn’t drive in reverse, is very loud and starts wobbling if you go over 25 mph.

Great experience renting the Chevy tracker from Susie's, glad we were able to snag the only automatic. Having the tracker gave us so much freedom to be able to check out all parts of the island and we loved that it was a full day rental. The staff at Susie's gave some great tips for what to see on the island and we had a fun day driving around.

Couldn’t have been happier with the service and experience. The mopeds were so much fun and the views were spectacular. I felt safe and in control the entire time thanks to the instructions of the staff. We saw whales and foxes. I wish I could give an extra star for the friendliness of the staff. What an experience!

We rented the 2 seat 3 wheeler option that is battery powered so relatively quiet. It was a cold rainy day when we rented but it still performed great. Because it has no doors - just a front to back cover above your heads - be prepared for a wind-in-your-hair rushing experience! Customer service team was great as well. Totally fun and reasonably priced - we’d do it again in a heartbeat!
