We made a reservation on Friday afternoon at 1pm because we wanted to go snow shoeing at Paradise. 5 hours later we found out that the road was going to be closed all weekend, so we wouldn't be able to go. I contacted the owner, and they were awesome! We were able to get our money back for the weekend, even though the reservation in Air BNB was non-refundable. I would hightly recommend this host!

Another fabulous time at the Lodge Near Mt Rainier! Our group has been coming here for 30+ years and we love it. The owners are really nice and respond right away when you email them. Great location right near the entrance of Mt Rainier! Clean, comfortable beds, large kitchen, indoor and outdoor fireplace. Walking distance to the river.

Our family loved our stay at Cedar Cabin. A family of 4 black tailed dears came almost every day to the front lawn morning and evening during our stay and our kids loved it!The kitchen had good deal of dishes and ustensils. Microwave, fridge and electric stove were all very functional and it was important for us since we had our meals cooked at the cabin. The host was very informative and courteous. He said the property was originally built about 100 years ago, and the furniture felt a little old but it was not a problem for us. The bathroom was very clean and had liquid hand soap.

we recently stayed at the rainier lodge and want to report a very pleasant stay. While the proximity to the entrance is the initial draw, the sizes of the cabins, the tasteful restoration and the host’s hospitality round up a great experience. We stayed at the log cabin which lived up to fantasy of staying in one. We were a very large group and we still had beds to spare . We could have used some night stands and may be an iron but I am nit picking now. I’ll be back back for our next trek into rainier.

New owner so all the reviews about the place not being clean are false. This place is great, beds are nice, and clean. The bathrooms are clean. So many wild life right in the area my kids loved driving up and having a deer eating right in the field next to them. Just down the road from the entrance to mount rainier. Only draw back is the general stores in the area are double in price for supplies so bring in if you can.

There was a glitch in the system and the cabin we had rented for 2 days was double booked. We called the number on the paper for help and he picked up immediately! The building manager came just as fast, and we were upgraded to the Chalet - extremely beautiful. Staff is very polite and helpful! Cabins are warm and very close to Mount Rainier.

We stayed at the log cabin this weekend and had a fantastic time. We had 2 adults and 4 kids and they had a great time! Cabin is a great deal at $249 weekday/299 weekend. It has 3 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, and two living rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom laundry room downstairs. It is far enough away so that the kids can be loud. The opening to the mt rainier is right there! Only improvement that i can think of is the upstairs bed is a little uncomfortable so bring some extra blankets for padding. The staff owners are super nice and helpful. If you have a large family this is perfect and affordable!

Pros - close to the entrance of Mt. Rainier park, the host was very friendly and hospitable. Showed us to our cabin and where the key was, made sure our questions were answered. Spacious although we stayed one night and didn't really hang out in the family room.Cons - the biggest was the bathroom. We were extremely disappointed by how gross the shower was as it had not been cleaned after the previous occupants had been there. There were long hairs on the shower wall, it was just filthy. As well, it had not been scrubbed down in months, there was yellow slime covering the walls and floor... A bottle of dish soap and warm vinegar sprayed on the shower walls and floor, and then washed off after a few hours of soaking will get rid of this easily. It felt very dirty to us and very stressful to even take a shower. Thankfully I had shower shoes from camping the night before and didn't have to stand on the floor. The kitchen counters had crumbs (toast) and when I wiped them down with a paper towel, it was covered with food and dirt. Our beds sheets had hairs on them. It is not fair or good customer service to advertise your cabins the way they are portrayed on your website, nice, clean, etc and then not follow through with providing a comfortable and clean place to stay. We did not expect perfection at all, we are staying in a cabin in the woods, but hair in the shower and on bed sheets, even after being washed, crumbs on the counters, and a shower covered in yellow layer of slime is unacceptable. I read in other reviews that they are trying to sell this place. It has great bones, it's a beautiful property, hopefully whomever buys it will invest in deep cleaning and even cleaning after guests leave. I am sure it's overwhelming to run if the man who showed us to our cabin is the one running the whole place, not really sure, but they are definitely not keeping up with cleaning at a bare minimum if they are selling. I do not recommend staying at this place until they improve their cleaning protocols.

Needs a little cleaning but for what the price is along with the location and no cleaning charges it’s a deal. Unlike other locations which were priced a lot more and the cabins were right next to your neighbor. No allowance for my kids to roam around and be noisy. I understand that we are paying to stay here but there’s a single nice, kind old man trying to run this place which is huge (16 acres). Location again is awesome.

We (3 adults) stayed in green hill cabin for 1 night. Cabin was clean and had all the essentials. The lodge is ideally located right outside the entrance to rainier national park. The manager was very nice and gave us a lot of details about the general area. Wifi was awesome! There is scope for improvement with the check in process. When we reached the lodge at 4PM, there was no one in the office. We called on the numbers posted but, it either could not connect or no one picked up. We waited for 30 mins and after leaving multiple voicemails without hearing back, we started knocking on existing customers doors. Finally got lucky and found the manager in another cabin. She said they have moved to a new system with automated entry code but it somehow did not work for us. Either way, we ended up wasting 1 hour of our time here.

Great location, it's only .5 miles to the entrance of Mount Rainier. I stayed at the cedar cabin, and the place did seem a little dirty, but we brought our own bed sheets and towels. The kitchen was very useful, and there was plenty of space to do our own cooking. The bathroom and shower was a bit small, and all the hot water had an iron smell, but it doesn't seem harmful. Overall, not a bad place to spend the night if you plan on getting to Mount Rainier nice and early.

Very nice check-in staff. The 3 of us stayed in the rustic 2 bedroom "Family Cabin" and really enjoyed it. The kitchen had dishes, pots and pans, utensils, a range and a coffee maker. We spent the evenings by the fire pit out front, and had great views of the smaller mountains, and a meadow where deer come by a lot. It's super close to the park entrance and was very relaxing. We'd all be happy to visit again and would recommend it!

Note: I am reviewing the "Family" cabin.Nice little place just a half mile outside the entrance to Mount Rainier. Overall, I was very happy with my time here. Everything was ready for my check-in and I was in and out of the office in only a minute or so. The gentleman who greeted us took us personally up to our cabin in a golf cart and walked us around the unit, showing us where the light switches were, how to adjust the heat, etc. Nice little personal touch. The cabin itself was lovely. He reports it was an old house that was converted to lodging. The age does show a bit in some peeling paint and sticking doors, but nothing was functionally wrong with the building. Purely cosmetic, which personally I felt added to the charm.Lovely little fireplace, firewood available on site for $5 for a nice sized bundle.Everything worked perfectly from the fridge to the microwave to the oven to the heater, to the hot and cold water. Nice privacy, not too close to the next cabin, very quiet and the location can't be beat. Literally about a 1 minute drive to the entrance.Only reason I am taking off one star is that the bed in the master bedroom had an issue. We were too tired to investigate properly, but there was a large dip in the middle of it. It is designed to be just a mattress on a frame (no box spring), and it appears one of the cross beams may have been broken or missing, as the middle sagged badly. If that issue was fixed, I would happily give 5 stars as it was exactly what I was looking for and I would have loved to have stayed for longer than the one night I was able to.

Pros: friendly owners, close to entrance, spaciousCons: basically what Paula wrote two weeks ago. We had one night booked and it was absolutely disgusting. Bathrooms are severely stained, looks like it has experienced high traffic but been vacuumed in months, the ceiling is drooping and has a multiple foot crack nailed together by a wooden plank, etc. There was a dead bug on the bedroom floor and while the sheets were made, they looked dirty underneath the blanket with either hair or dead bug particles.Sadly all other lodging within 30 minutes was booked this Saturday night so we had to leave the area, miss out on next day plans, and eat the loss. Avoid at all costs.

The place is in a good location and is very quaint. But, the family cabin that we stayed in was EXTREMELY dirty and the heat, among other things, didn't work when it was below freezing outside. The people running the place are very nice and were eager to get us some heaters. With the large amount they charge to stay here it would be nice if it was cleaned and things worked. Our family has been coming for years, but we think this was the last time.

We stayed in the Cedar cabin in AugustProsLocation, location, locationValueComfortableExcellent wi-fiCute window treatmentsQuietPrivateFull kitchenConsNo cell receptionDated furnishingsOdd bed placement, unable to walk around the bedStained showerStained sinksOven hasn’t been cleaned in yearsDrip pans need changingThin towels (exactly 2 - we brought extras of our own)We enjoyed the rustic cabin feel and there was plenty of room for 3 adults. The cabin is super close to the Nisqually entrance of the National Park. I tried to clean the shower and had no problems, so they just haven’t been doing any deep cleaning, same with the oven - nothing a little Easy Off could’ve changed. Hopefully they will step up their cleaning approach, if that happens, this will be a great place to stay. The cabins are dated as is the furnishings. The kitchen was stocked, but just barely. Exactly 4 spoons, forks and knives, 3 coffee cups and some plates. Adequate, but we did dishes a lot since we ate all our meals at the cabin. One suggestion if they read these reviews...some sort of land line or phone service between the cabins and the office. Since there is no cell service, if something were to happen, you can’t call for help. Safety is important.

Currently staying at this lodge. A cursory effort was made to clean the cabin but in truth, all of the facility is completely filthy. The bed sheets are not cleaned between guests, the cabins have an unpleasant smell, are very dated and clean towels are not provided in sufficient quantity.Additionally the water has a sulfur taste and smell. The caretaker cannot really be found at any time and the placement of furniture doesn't really make sense. Ex: armchairs placed in front of dressers, and signs asking not to move the furniture. I feel like strangers could walk on to this property, set alight the cabins and leave without the owners being aware until midday the following day.Avoid if possible.

We rented Family Cabin for one night. Reasonably priced. The hosts were pretty friendly and available even late at night. The cabin was clean and well stocked. Location is good. Early morning we were able to see a few deers.

We stayed at a cabin in February. At first blush, the owners were very nice and accommodating. Then a tree fell over on some power lines while were in the park and the whole area lost power. The owners (who maintain some sort of residence there) left without notice. When we came back were left to fend for ourselves. Thank goodness we came prepared with a campstove and firewood. At around midnight the owners came back, left a battery powered lantern on the porch, then left. We tended to the fire all night long to keep the kids and ourselves warm, woke up, make breakfast, and left. The owners were nowhere to be found. If we had not come prepared with our own fuel and cooking supplies, we would have been frozen out and had to leave.

We were a Boy Scout troop with 40+ people. The kitchen was large enough to cook our meals with all the pots, pans and other essentials provided. They had plenty of games and books to keep things lively. Wi-Fi was not very fast but since there was no cell coverage in the area at all it was plenty for our needs. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable enough to fit us all in. Beautiful location located practically at the park entrance.

It's ok but there are spiders every where and they don't clean it well at all and no view of mount rainier. The beds are comfy not clean though and there is a lot of doors without a handle. Although we did have alot of fun

I stayed 2 nights at the cedar cabin. Good location, close to Mt Rainier national park entrance . However, the cabin was dirty. You can see insects on the floor. Hot water smells really nasty. I payed too much for this lodge.

Yikes, this place is not worth the money! Check their website, then check my pictures. The website photos are probably 25 years old. It's no longer charming: it's dilapidated. We stayed at the Cedar Cabin. Kitchen poorly stocked with supplies. Junk stored next to the house. The whole cabin is on a tilt. Maybe the newer owners will update it ... maybe not. Caveat emptor!

I had a reservation made for their Cedar cabin. The day of arrival my 3 year old daughter had a seizure so I had no choice but to formally send a cancel request to the owners to cancel the trip to cabin. Later I find out these people still charged my card the full amount when we never even stepped foot on the property and as soon as my daughter felt better she asked why we cant go next weekend and all I could think to myself is how no one should bring their family or let alone thier enemy to these God forsaken people. They have no hearts and only care about money. Honestly when I get back into town I'm having my lawyer contact them directly. Horrible experience that had my little baby girl crying for days....

Great location, 1/2 mile outside the Nisqually Entrance of Mt Rainier. Very nice owner, very rustic and comfy lodge. Water has a mineral odor to it but that's just how it is with being so close to the mountain. Only two towels provided, so bring your own if needed. What's cool is that you can see deers around, and they're also used to humans being around. We stayed in Cedar Cabin. Kitchen stove is electric, pans and pots provided, as well as plates and silverware. Dish soap provided as well, with a roll of Bounty paper. But no body wash or shampoo provided, just a "Deordorant Soap". Closest grocery/gas/convenience store is Ashford Valley Store. Grill is available as well, but didn't get a chance to use it. Adjustable heating is there also. Overall, a cool experience.

Met a friend up here for Father's Day weekend. Great location. Management was very friendly. Place could use a good cleaning, however the price, location, helpful staff, and peaceful setting far offset any negatives. Probably be back next year.

Our cabin, Green Hill, was one of the cheapest, so kept simple. Still, we had a stove, bathroom, wood fireplace, nice double bed. Everything was clean when we arrived. Nice stay.
