Beautiful, cozy place and very warm people. Jim helped switch our room instantly without hesitation when we informed him that one of our rooms was away from the main bldg. and would be inconvenient for my mom and me. That made our stay perfect. THANK YOU! Our other room on 2nd floor was very beautiful and comfy. If you can't climb stairs, please discuss with the manager for options. Pre-packed breakfast was adequate. Vegetarians may need to supplement it. Summer, the other manager, stopped by a couple times in the parking lot to inquire about our comfort and provided helpful info on getting around, gas, dinner, snow chains, etc. - thank you! Overall, people here keep this place feeling warm even in March! I recommend and will return!

(WOW!) We were treated like royalty by Summer the Lodge manager, who told us pretty much everything there is to know about the area and even shoveled the snow off our Mini! The Lodge itself is in excellent condition and there are plenty of hiking trails around back. Overall 10/10 stay with 100/10 service. Looking forward to coming back in the future! Thanks Summer!!!Noteworthy details: Summer the lodge manager was exceptional!

This place is amazing! We were coming from Vancouver to enjoy some hiking around the park and decided to go to Alexander's Lodge. Unfortunately weather dictated our trip with some heavy snowfall, luckily we were able to get some much needed respite at the lodge where our room was surprisingly upgraded due to the weather conditions. The Lodge's manager, Summer, was incredibly helpful in shoveling out a path for our car and gave useful information regarding the surrounding areas. Will definitely come back again.

We had a wonderful long weekend getaway at the Alexander's Lodge. Our room was clean, the continental breakfast was already in our room that night. We had plenty of towels, wash cloths, etc.Summer, the manager, took excellent care of us, making sure we had everything we needed and gave excellent recommendations where to eat and what to do!

This was the second time me and my girlfriend spent time in the Alexander's Lodge. The building itself is a well maintained historic building from 1912 with a ton of historic charme. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The rooms are not huge but unique and charming. Most importantly, the lodge is 2 minutes of a ride from the entrance to Mt. Rainier national park. It is on the main road without being busy. The moment the park closes you hardly hear a car passing by. The breakfast is simple but we liked the fact that it was delivered to the room. The managers on the property are phenomenal. Very friendly and welcoming. In our opinion this place offers a great value deal for people who want to stay close to the park.If you are unable to walk steps make sure to book one of the first floor rooms. Also, this place is close to the woods so comes summer better bring some mosquito repellant. We would definitely come again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Alexander’s Lodge. The warm welcome by Summer was great and the conversation was very interesting and nice! Our apartment (Glacier) had everything we needed, it was very clean, tidy and cozy. Really good is the location of the Lodge, right at the entrance to the Mt. Rainier NP so everything was good.

We visited Mount Rainier and stayed here as it is a historic building and close to the park entrance. To our surprise, the room is cozy with spacious bathroom, the pond is also nice to walk around in the morning. They even have EV charging station for the guests. Summer - the manager, certainly has done a good job keeping the vintage house in great shape.

We enjoyed our stay here. Summer was very helpful when we reached earlier than the check-in time. It was exciting to learn about the history of the hotel. It's a convenient distance from the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park and the restaurant across street had great Himalayan dishes that tasted homemade. We really enjoyed the games in the common area after coming back from a hike in the evening before heading to bed.The complimentary breakfast provided is nothing special or freshly cooked but it's better than nothing. I appreciated that the food was just waiting for me at the door when I woke up.

We had an excellent stay at Alexander’s lodge! The location is perfect, 35 minutes to Paradise and very close proximity to local hikes and small businesses. The rooms themselves are comfortable, they have several types so you need to make sure you read through and select the room of your preference. We stayed in room 16, which was excellent! Large room with kind size bed, couch, fridge, and large bathroom. The best part- right outside the door is a beautiful pond with trout and a waterfall. Service is excellent and people are extremely friendly! 100% will stay there again!

I booked a room for one night but decided not to stay here. Most other lodges in the area were booked out but this one was somehow completely empty. The parking lot only had one other car (presumably the Summer's) and all of the rooms were available on the booking page. This lodge was isolated from the others and I felt uncomfortable staying there as a solo traveler. So I drove back to the city the same night.Summer was a very kind manager though and maybe this place will be less eerie with more guests.Replying to the manager:1. I made an excuse about the standby list to not hurt the Summer's feelings. He was a nice person and I didn't want to straight-up say the place felt creepy.2. I did sit on the couch to figure out why it's so empty but I left immediately after. The bed and shower were unused.3. I politely asked for a partial refund and did not receive one, to which I had no further complaint. I agree, it was my personal choice to leave, but it doesn't make me entitled to share my experiences.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Alexander’s Lodge. We stayed in the Wonderland Suite, which is secluded, but still within walking distance to the main hotel and gift shop. Clean and cozy rooms. Our host, Summer was phenomenal. Summer walked us around the property, shared deep history of the inn with us, and made sure our stay was relaxing overall. Amazing staff! Will definitely be coming back.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Alexander's Lodge in the Wonderland Suite. Summer and the staff were awesome and made sure everything was to our satisfaction - they even delivered breakfast to our door the night before , knowing we would leave for an early morning hike before breakfast was served the following morning! Great location near the Park. Our accommodations were clean, cozy, and comfortable. Looking forward to visiting again!

Four of us stayed at Alexander's Lodge June 17-20 to hike Mt. Rainier and loved it. Summer was very helpful and accommodating, even finding us extra winter gear when the weather became quite cold and snowy during our stay. Service was great, the rooms were very clean, there is a gorgeous trail behind the property, and the location is fantastic. Summer's suggestion of dining at Wildberry Restaurant also proved worthwhile. Altogether a wonderful stay. Thank you Summer!

We stayed here on 9/25. Room 14 is under the trees/woods in the back of the building .The road has no light to the room. The worst was flies/ mosquitos inside/outside everywhere. The shower/ no bathtub is as small as a portable toilet. Paying $189 for this unfitted hotel near national park made me much more angrier. The person rejected our room exchange, andyelled: we’re in the woods, what did you expect.I killed the flies for you when you pinpointed where they were. Very nasty behavior to customers.10/3 update:Contrary to the fact that the staff's response on Expedia highly praised for their hotel standard, it's really shameful that they turned the story/situation upside down. You could lie once, twice, or third time. Your truth identity will reveal to the world.

This place felt like a B&B with amenities that you do not get in hotels. My room was clean and nicely decorated along with TV/DVD, microwave, Google mini, and breakfast served each morning in a cute basket. The large parlor is a social gathering place with DVDs to take back to your room and the grounds have a pond and a groomed trail in the back woods. Their location is one of the closest to stay near Mount Rainier and restaurants are nearby, including the good Wildberry Restaurant within walking distance (ate there twice).Rooms: Clean and well decorated.Nearby activities: One of the closest hotels to Mount Rainier's west entrance.Safety: Secure double locks on doors and coded keypad on main entrance.

We had a really nice stay at this hotel. Summer, the person working the front desk, was very friendly and helpful. He even came up late at night, after hours when he should have been resting, to help us with an issue that we had with the TV in our room. The rooms themselves were clean and beautifully decorated. Breakfast was delivered to us early in the morning after we had selected the food items we wanted online a few days earlier. Overall, I rate our stay a 5/5. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Mt Rainier National Park area.

My family 2 adult and 2 kids stayed here for one night, and we really enjoyed the stay. Summer is very hospitable give us lots of helpful tips, and we chat like friends. The rooms are clean, warm at night in early April. The breakfast and pre packed cold, but you have a microwave oven in room to warm it. We got so many breakfast that I bring them to the mountain to have a picnic on snow. It is quite. Would like to come again.

The room had a strong odor of urine. I could not determine from whence it came. Also, one of the chairs in the room was broken and unusable. There was a lot of bragging online about their "complimentary" breakfast. I'm sorry. I've stayed at cheap, chain motels with better (and that's not saying much). The "staff" seemed primarily efficient at being nowhere to be seen. Oh, but there was a phone number one could call. How touching. There was also a lot of signage on the property and verbiage in the materials provided about what the hotel would not do for its customers, and what customers could not do, lest they be charged extra. Either these folks have had some really horrible guests in the past, or they're always on the lookout for more ways to make a buck. I would not return to this establishment if you paid me.

We had a great two nights and look forward to coming again soon! Summer was very helpful and made our stay worry free and relaxing, and even helped us store our luggage when we changed rooms. The property was gorgeous and had a small pond and walking trail. You can tell that Alexander’s goes the extra mile to make for a wonderful guest experience. Thanks again Summer, we’ll be back!

Disappointing. The room had a smell and was not what we expected when we booked. It could use some updating - even for a bed and breakfast-type place. Staff was non-existent when we arrived and had a rude undertone with the signs that are on the office doors. The cancellation policy is ridiculous. We walked into the room and walked out. The place just gave us a bad vibe. We decided to drive the rest of the way home and chalk it up to a loss. We will not be booking at Alexander's again.

We were here on April 21,23. Though Alexander's Lodge was historically lodge, but much nicer than what I expected, The room was cozy, good breakfast. Went outside after breakfast discovered a surprise super nice, I was surprise in back of the lodge had ~ 2 miles of hiking trails with the creek, water fall and all natural wildlife. OMG....we will need to come back to this lodge and thanks to Summer and Jim to takes good care of this place.

Not a good stay. The chalet was on the street so road noise made it impossible to sleep or relax. No breakfast provided due to it having a kitchen despite hotel stating they do provide. Rude unaccomodating staff. Accomodations need serious update. Linens as old as the hotel. Misinformed about many details prior to checkin only to be told otherwise on arrival. Overpriced!

Alexander’s lodge was the most charming place to stay! We made a spontaneous trip up to the mountain and settled on Alexander’s. I’m so glad we did. Summer was an amazing host and made sure we were comfortable, happy, and fed the next morning. The only place in the area that offers complimentary breakfast by the way! They have an amazing pond, unique spacious rooms, personal decks, awesome wildlife, and gorgeous views. I really could go on forever about how much I loved this place. They had free Wi-Fi (not that we needed it much in a beautiful place), cable, a bookshelf of DVDs, books, board games, table chess. It was a lot of fun.The rooms were also very clean! Between the living room, bathroom, bedroom and common areas everything was very well kept even in the down season. Top tier.I can’t wait to come back in the summertime!

My boyfriend and I had a great time here! We came after hours and the on site manager was extremely friendly and helpful and came over to help us immediately upon our arrival. The building is large and old (which is a positive in my opinion, one cannot help but love the charm of an old building) but they have done good things with it to make it comfortable. We got room 2, which had a great view of the pond, Wi-Fi, a tv, microwave, mini fridge, bathroom, and more. My favorite parts of the room were the very efficient a/c unit and the crazy comfortable mattress. It was like sleeping on a big marshmallow! I wish I could remember the name of the person who helped us so I could give them the props they deserve! Next time we are in Washington, we will be sure to visit again!Nearby activities: Very close to the entrance to Mt. Ranier
