Ordered same day pick up and still wasn’t ready 3 days later. No update. Called twice and employees very unhelpful and non-apologetic about anything. They said they couldn’t cancel my order for a couple days since that is when the item will be coming in? Finally told me when it was coming in after I said I wanted to cancel my order and it wasn’t coming in for another 3 days. So same day pick up turned into 6 day pick up? I would not recommend ordering anything online for “same day” store pick up. Customer service not good either. Very disheartening.

Went to return an item, was not sure on the return policy and simply asked if i could return. One associate said yes and started the return. Then another walked over and proceeded to be condescending and say we do not make a habit of taking returns on items people use as rentals. I have never returned a used item, so this was an unwarranted and rude comment. Spend your money at Home Depot or Lowe’s.

So I went to our local Ace to see if they had a belt for my vacuum that broke and but only was the customer service amazing, the one who was helping me went above and beyond to make sure and measure and even took other ones out and looked at the model number to make sure it would work and it did! My vacuum is working perfectly and as a single mom with no help it meant a lot to me that he took the extra time out of his day to make sure it would work and saved me attempting to but a new vacuum which I just can't do right now, instead 4 dollars and some change later its back to new! Thank you Ace Hardware and all your hard workers! 😊💜

BEST small hardware store in the area! I recently moved close by and I remodel houses so I know the prices at Ace and Home Depot really well. Ace is very close in price and it is very close by and has great customer service! I go here every time when I need something they have.Plus, my 9 year old daughter picked cherries recently and the owner, Phillipe, was so generous that he let her sell them there. It's nice to experience the kindness and support from small business owners towards aspiring young entrepreneurs. It's a rare thing and should be appreciated by our community.!

Friendly service. I like to support my local Ace Hardware because it is so handy and saves me a lot of time and gas to get to the bigger box stores. I expect to pay a bit more but am sometimes surprised that their prices can be lower the the big competitors. Most of the employees are courteous and knowledgable. I appreciate that.

Great selection for a local hardware store. Much more convenient than having to wage through isles and isles of stuff when you just need a quick purchase and you know what you want. Some staff are really knowledgeable, but some are young and inexperienced, so service can be hit or miss.

The employees here are friendly and helpful and isn’t that Number one on your requirement for hardware store? They make me feel welcome and like a neighbor when I’m there. From most little projects this place has everything you need, their tool section is better than average, And the prices are competitive enough with the big box stores that I only go to big box stores when absolutely necessary. Best way to describe them? Biggest little hardware store in the county. Love this place!

This centrally located hardware store has just about everything you would need…unless you have brown/non-white skin. Cerah, the assistant manager(?), was dismissive and borderline rude. Don’t ask for anything beyond basic information, she is not interested in assisting customers or providing an enjoyable customer experience. Andie, at the cash register, was friendly and polite. Micro-aggressions are no longer tolerated by persons of color. Perhaps diversity training?

The staff are very helpful. I am disappointed with the amount of products that are made in China. I bought a few wood screws to secure a bookshelf, the second the screws hit a stud, they stripped out. # made in USA

Had a large variety of items, clean, the staff was helpful and knowledgeable. Especially compared to today's average home Depot or Lowe's employee. Parking was good but a little tight. If it says in stock online. That doesn't mean anything though. It means they can get it within a day or so

Got help and got what we needed. Staff is wonderful. Young man waited while I called my husband and between the two of them, they figured out another way to get the job done and i was able to buy the right screws and my husband was able to get the job done without making another trip.

I try to shop local when I can but when a store makes it difficult it’s even harder. Tried to return/ exchange defective screws and was told without a receipt that I couldn’t. It’s a product that only they carry and maybe was $10. The big stores would’ve done it right away. Won’t be going back.

The best part of moving from the big city to a small town is the outstanding customer service that locally owned businesses have. Every time we shop at the Ferndale Ace Hardware their staff have been attentive and helpful. They also stock a great inventory of supplies and usually have what we need. The last time we were in, they had a porch swing set up in the garden area that we were interested in purchasing. When I asked if they could break it down so it could fit in my car, they offered an even better solution of delivering it directly to us. We figured it would be worth the extra fee to not have the hassle of reassembling it, but when I asked about the cost, their staff member said “oh there’s no charge”. Further, they delivered it that afternoon! The owner Philippe came out himself and set it all up on our porch. A ten star experience!

I love this store. I visited often when I lived in Ferndale, I have since moved about ten miles north (our own hardware store is nearby), but I still choose to come to this store. While some staff is continuously turning over (as at many stores similar), there are a good number of staff that do a great job recognizing regular customers, and also knowing how to help and more excitingly, when help is needed. I typically know exactly what I want when I enter the store, but I like to receive help from the team members I recognize for a chance to socialize and pick their brain on my projects. I haven’t had a chance to meet the new owners, but next time I’m in I’ll be sure to, as generally Ace Hardware stores are owned by good, honest people in my experience.

I was excited to place an order online and do curbside pickup.due to being injured. However, the day I came to pick up my items was such a disappointment! I called on arrival.. After waiting for 10 minutes I called again to ask if there was something wrong. The person on the line had no idea I had arrived. Once I hung up I began timing the wait. It was 17 minutes in the hot sun before someone came out. He said " We're super busy today." No apology or a thank you for waiting. Nothing about my waiting for about thirty minutes in my car after being told twice the items would be right out. My first experience with this particular store and I don't know that I will return.

Best customer service ever. I bought 2 cans of paints with "ships sail" color. Due to the mistake on the company web site, the finished color is not what I was expecting. Nicole the store manager handled my return nicely and professionally, she even helped me picked a new color.

Very helpful people. They always will help you find needed things. I like going here. Plus there is always cute cat or kitten to pet and visit. What an amazing thing to do for a local store to help local furry animal to find forever home.
