Very poor customer service in this store. We went to buy a parakeet with own cage that we got online. The girl said they have a policy that the parakeet had to be put into a box. We asked how we will transfer the parakeet to our cage and they said we needed to have a net for this. Ok, we said where do we get a net? The answer was in any pet store. Apparently this pet store didn't sell any nets. We asked them to help us with transferring the pet to our cage after we buy it. They also didn't want to do it. The manager said she doesn't want to sell the pet to us. Very rude and not even trying to help.

I just wanted to give a shoutout to Karly and the great job she does with Zero. I live in Seattle but I make the trek down here just because of the quality of work they do. She is thoughtful and attentive to mine and my dogs needs and my guy looks like a million bucks every time.This is far away the best Petco with Grooming in the greater Tacoma/Seattle area and anyone coming to these reviews should ignore a lot of the spam/karen complaints. They are great people here.

Rumor has it pet stores are evil. Now the few times i've been in here I see why. Older guy locking the doors was a little rude but I get it, your website says you close an hour later, I'd be annoyed too. But he made the effort, let me in, and asked what I needed. He makes a call out for 50 crickets. Now idk if thats asking a lot, but to the lady that handed me bag of around 8-10 crickets is a joke.Separate story but while I'm here, over a year ago I came and bought a beta fish. Then for whatever reason the old lady at the checkout put a hex on him, saying "your fish is going to die" before even saying hello. No context, no history. Just a grumpy witch.

Great groomers always!! Loulou is always ready to zoom on in for her spa day with all the loves, rubs and hugs they give her, but she returns that with tons of licking. They love the pets and they do great at getting the job done and pets looking good. Keep up the great work.

Sometimes some things, like big packs of canned cat food, are out of stock, which is why 4 stars, but I know everyone has different jobs and I do not blame the employees (who in my experience have been pretty nice every time I have been here) for them not having things in stock 24/7.My only hope would be that they are getting proper pay and hours, and that they maybe can be allowed to have more availability to give more undistracted care to the animals they are trying to sell.

Long due review for the kind folks here. I have been getting my supplies and equipment for the past year and had nothing but excellent customer service where the staff has been knowledgeable with great recommendations. Today, I unfortunately ran into a situation with the online order service where they sent it to the wrong address. Amber, who I have met before and has helped me today by providing me information with steps to get this resolved, would be considered as someone with high praise in our community, even super hero like. Without her and the support that backs her up with day to day challenges, this world would be left in ruins. Thank you very much for all my past and future needs

I had no idea where to find what I was looking for. There was one person (fish guy) on the floor and he was helping someone else in that department. I circled the store looking for anyone, but to no avail. So I went to get in the checkout line so I could ask my question to find what I needed. This location needs to increase staffing so this doesn’t happen.

I got my Longnose Butterfly saltwater fish from this location and the fish had a disease. It had Columnaris, a bacteria that consumed my fish just 2 days after buying it. It started out as a white patch the day after purchase and ate through the flesh. Now I have to medicate my whole tank with my other fishes and invertebrates. I called and notified them but they don’t accept return or exchange on any of their saltwater fish since they don’t have a quarantine tank for them. One of the sales guy in aquatics told me too that when they get a fish from shipment, they add them right away all together for sale in the tank and to be sold right away. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for saltwater fishes or invertebrates if you’re going to buy.

Wow, I can't believe a big chain like this would force me to leave a 1 star...but here we are.I bought a baby turtle for my wife's 40th birthday last November. We came here to get some supplies, and we're sold a Vital Care membership the woman said, and I quote " you can can cancel anytime, home on your computer"Well here we are, 4 months later and there is NO WAY to cancel the membership. You can stop it from renewing, but will continue to be billed $10 a month FOR A YEAR!!! SCAM ALERT, AVOID THIS PLACE THE EMPLOYEES ARE LIARSMy Credit Card company is sending us new new cards so these guys can't charge us anymore.If anyone else runs into this, make sure you do this too. Because the 1-800 number is totally useless.Got an email from corporate...they canceled my membership. Good on them, but it really shouldn't be this difficult, I did cancel my credit card.Still upset, won't be back at least in the short term.

Clerk misrepresented "Vital Care Premier" saying, "it's easy to cancel and there are lots of benefits". It's been incredibly difficult to cancel and if I ever do manage to pull it off, apparently you're forced to pay for it for 1 year no matter what. The year will cost $132 so I can get a 15% discount on food for my lizard. He eats bugs. That's going to save me like $2. I'm super annoyed.

The staff here are very helpful. The store could use some better merchandising and pricing, but aside from that they are great for picking up last min treats and clearance items for my kitties.

They had over three dead betta fish for sale on the floor and more than half living in murky water nearly dead. This is animal cruelty and they need to start taking better care of their animals.

Used to love getting my dog groomed here, but I arrived to my appointment 12 minutes late (bad on my end) and waited at the counter for about 5 mins. The groomer walked up and said “you do know your appointment was at 1:30 and it’s 1:47. We have a 15 minute grace period.” I said “I’ve been standing here for about 5 minutes though” she said “well I just walked up here.” She turned me away because she didn’t walk up by 1:45, even though I was there. I understand the inconvenience of me being late and would have accepted that as reason alone, but she was unnecessarily rude and condescending. Will not be returning.

The conditions of the enclosures the animals are in is absolutely deplorable. Every single cage was littered with feces, including in their food!! There were dirty drinking containers, and filthy paper bedding those poor animals have to sit in day after day.It’s clear the employees at this particular establishment have no regard whatsoever for the wellbeing of these animals. After raising concern about said conditions of the cages, the lady at the front could simply care less.I felt ill leaving that store after seeing the conditions all the animals had to sit in, so I truly don’t understand how those working there are okay at the end of the day leaving them like that.

I had a horrendous time at this place. It was clean, had friendly staff. I was walking around to find the animals to look at. I saw ferrets!! They were cute. To take the pic I submitted with this review, I reached and put my phone over the enclosure. While doing this, I made the life altering mistake of inhaling through my nose. Well... this happened yesterday and I can still smell it, like an itch at the back of my brain. My eyes watered. I gagged. My partner saw the face I made when the stench, unsolicited-ly, entered my nostrils and nearly died laughing. I probably have ferret pink eye now.

Staff is friendly but they are always low on inventory especially large bags of dry dog food. My 3 labs eat blue wilderness all meat because one of them is allergic to chicken and they are always out. I don't give labs salmon. If anyone knows the lab breed fish is very smelly when they pass gas. Ha ha

Very very rude lady. Lady with the colored red hair I believe was very very rude when I talked to her saying they had some females. I was just trying to make a tiny conversation and I wasn’t even rude. I was just excited they had betta fish I was looking for. As I was excitingly telling her about the fish, she rudely tells me not to talk to her about that then points at the “male” print on the container and said “See it says male”. Sorry for being overly excited? I’ve been traveling all around Washington and I was at the petco in Bonny lake and had a very awesome guy help me. I’m sorry but I’ve been to federal way petco many times and never had good customer service. FYI, I breed bettas and are very aware of how you can tell what is a female and what isn’t. So again very rude on that lady! Also some of their bettas was sick(new arrivals)

Way over priced. I came into buy some charcoal for my filter & 2 1/2 pound container was $26. I came home & ordered a 5 pound bag from Amazon for less than $20.

The aisles are not labeled. It's confusing because dog stuff is all over the place. It would be nice like a grocery store has so I can go right to the cat stuff.

They have high expectations of your dog and it’s to expensive I went there and listed my dog as very aggressive and I was like .-. So I switched to a professional doctor and 4 shots and a testing poop ans medicane only 300$

I came in on Thursday morning, 9/7/23. I believe it was amber who helped me, a wonderful woman working the cashier. I was not in the best of moods and she was so uplifting and light hearted. She answered all my questions and just made the store seem like a brighter place. This will def make a loyal customer.

They had what I wanted but I had to hunt for it. The ratio of dog products to cat products is heavily lopsided towards dogs. They had TWO full aisles of dog collars and dog chains/leashes yet the cat collar section was just some 3' length of one aisle in the extreme far corner way at the back of the shop. If cats could hold up signs and yell in human languages they'd be protesting in front of the store!! Lol

High scores because of Melissa. We left another place because the groomer said the dogs were a bit nippy. We have one shy dog and one very anxious dog. We read good reviews about Petco, and asked the one scheduling who would be good with our dogs. They told us Melissa. And they were right. She manages both dogs with ease. She has a calm demeanor which we believe may help.She takes notes about how we want their cuts, and they look and smell amazing; in a timely fashion.Melissa is moving from one Petco to another, and we will follow her. We recommend her unreservedly!

Excessively Long wait time, no one answered the phone for curbside so I had to go inside and was told I was lucky that the computer was working for pick up orders.
