A beautiful ranch that treats their animals right. I’ve bought meat directly from their website and at their stand at my local farmers market for years. Finally drove out to visit the ranch for a day trip with the kids. The setting is gorgeous with rolling pastures and the animals happily doing their thing. We were welcomed by the owner Greg to go and check out whatever we want. All the cattle, sheep, goats, and chickens (and one peacock!) were healthy and well cared for. The meat produced is clean and delicious. This is the kind of small producer that I’m glad to support.

I cant say good enough things about Windy N Ranch! I purchased the chicken bundle & breakfast sausage, which is amazing by the way, when I arrived Greg showed right up and we walked into the butchering kitchen, which was very CLEAN! We then gave us so much good information about the farm and how they do things around there, Then showed my son the baby goats! SO CUTE! Besides the great and personable experience I will be back getting purchasing more and recommending them to everyone.Thanks Greg!

I have been getting lamb, beef, pork and eggs from Windy N Ranch for many, many years now. I know that my health has improved eating meat that has been produced with outstanding care. I have introduced friends to lamb who would not eat lamb before but they had never tasted the sweetest lamb in the world which is Ellensburg lamb (my dad taught me that when I was little). I am partial being born/bred here but there is not a better place to live than the Northwest. I have been to the ranch many times to pick up my meat (even spent a night in the rental cottage they have on the ranch) and enjoyed every visit there. I do take advantage of the delivery schedule to Bellevue but going to the ranch is much more fun. Greg and Bradley and their families are wonderful and very dear to us. We have benefited from knowing them and eating cleaner meat.

Good food doesn’t grow on trees. Well some does but most is a lot of hard work, long hours, dealing with the worst weather and a lot of commitment. I’ve been buying meat boxes from Windy N Ranch for years now and trust that their products are healthy and tasty. Windy N Ranch is an outstanding source for grass-fed beef in Washington State. This beef reminds me of the best steaks from the old-world butchers of Spain, Italy, and France. Their ground beef makes for an excellent steak tartar. Tomahawks or T-bones on the grill for a crowd-wowing BBQ event. The tenderloin rounds (or filet mignon) on a searing hot cast iron pan (herbed ghee makes a great baste) are borderline life changing. Their prices are very reasonable in relation to the quality of the product and the people are friendly and honest. Pleasure to shop with these folks.

I've been a Windy N Ranch customer for 12 years. I've purchased beef, lamb, and pork, and more recently their boxes of ground beef, which are an economical way to get meat of this tremendous quality. The ranch's dedication to organic certification and animal welfare is above and beyond, and it's evident in taste and how it cooks that it's reams better than the simplistic "grass-fed" label of other meat that is available at the health food store. Customer service is always seamless, responsive and friendly, and a visit in person to their ranch is special, with the warmest of welcome. I pick up my meat easily in Bellevue.

I just wanted to Thank the Newhall's for they're amazing effort and product. I've been cooking professionally for over 20 years, and add another 10 years of cooking with my Grandmother and Father for our family. Thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday because of the food and family, but mainly the food.Every year I cook the Thanksgiving turkey, and every year the turkey gets better and better until a couple years ago when i felt my bird was consistently the best thing i've eaten that year. This year i was lucky enough to get a fresh heritage bread turkey from Windy N Ranch, and i can tell you that there was a world of difference between something from the store and the Newhall's hand raised turkey.Its not hard to describe the difference between the two. The first thing i noticed was the healthy amount of fat on the bird it's self, you can tell they we're raised with love and attention. As it cooked the fat gently rendered off the bird helping to keep everything moist. After cooking it on my Webber with a generous amount of rosemary, i brought it in and carved it up. The Flavor was incredibly light, yet extremely flavorful. The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was sooooo juicy, I've never experienced anything like it. Besides that, the meat was firm and sliced beautiful. When it came down to making stock the bones were unique as well, strong bones and tendons unlike store birds. Greg was super-responsive to all my questions regarding each animal’s diet and lifestyle.The ruminants (cows, sheep, goats,) are 100% grass-fed and grass-finished (from start to finish). The non-ruminants (pigs, hens, chickens, turkeys) need additional food beyond what they can get grazing, so are supplemented with certified organic, non-GMO, corn-free, and toxic seed/vegetable oil free food milled right at the farm. NO fillers. No PUFAs. NO herbicides, pesticides, fungicides, or insecticides.I highly recommend trying their meat sampler and a dozen eggs. I have a standard fridge/freezer and easily fit the sampler pack. Not only do you get the highest quality animal products, but you're supporting a local family-run business. Wonderful ranchers, producing outstanding meat and eggs. The ranch is amazing. Please drive out there if you can but keep it mind it is a working ranch. Greg and his family are quite busy.They sell their products at a very reasonable price, given the work involved. With a large family, it's beyond wonderful to buy in bulk, just like our grandfathers' did, and have access to fresh, quality meat throughout the winter. We're lucky to have Windy N Ranch in our lives and happy to support local providers.

We purchased half a pig and three chickens from Windy N. Greg was very kind and prompt in his responses, and easy to communicate with. He stored the meat for us for a few weeks after butchering while we were out of town. My family enjoyed visiting the farm to pick up the meat. Every cut of pig we have had so far has been outstanding. Best pork sausage I have ever eaten and the bacon is incredible too.

Wow. What an all-around lovely first-time experience with Greg at Windy N Ranch! First, our family manages life-threatening food allergies so we have to be extremely careful about any potential sources of cross-contact with these allergens. I asked many questions of Greg about where these risks might exist and how to mitigate those risks. He was thorough, patient, and willing to take extra precautions to make sure our pork was as safe as could be for our multiple food-allergic daughter.Second, we hadn't eaten pork for several years when a beloved organic family farm near us stopped raising hogs, but we decided last year to resume our search for another place to buy a hog for our family's freezer this year. After spending many, many hours trying to find a farm that offers humanely-raised, humanely-killed, and organically-fed pork, we realized that Windy N Ranch was the only farm in Oregon and Washington that met our high standards. "Pasture-raised" is great, but we also wanted to be very mindful of the stress on these intelligent animals in the days and hours leading up to slaughter as well as reducing our young children's exposure to glyphosate by eating only organically-fed animals. (We also get the extra fat to render into delicious lard so organic is even more important when eating all that yummy pig fat!). Greg's pigs never leave the farm for slaughter, never have to endure the stress of transport, and only eat certified-organic feed and pasture. One-of-a-kind farm, for sure.We live in the Portland area and weren't able to drive all the way to Ellensburg for pickup so he got us a very reasonable quote to ship an entire hog in insulated boxes. Less money than we would have spend on gas and staying somewhere for a night to pickup from the farm.Ok - the taste! We've only tried the ground pork so far, but, man, it is amazing! It has a rich, lovely, mild porky taste. It's so good that one of my kids wanted to "have Greg's pork" for dinner last week as a reward for needing to get a blood draw she had to get. :) We've been eating pasture-raised pork from small, family farms in the Pacific NW for the past 15 years and this is right up there with the best we've eaten.We will definitely be one of Greg's repeat hog customers now for years to come. We're thankful that he's doing the difficult work of organic farming!

We are not big meat eaters,partially due to the unavailability of healthy organic product.However,since making a connection with Windy N Ranch our diet now includes pork! Best tasting we have ever had as well as feeling good about eating it.Bacon like I have never experienced before! Besides selling excellent meat and eggs produced humanely and sustainably, the family members at the ranch are a great source of information about animal husbandry, food production, and food regulations.
