A wonderful experience with my wife and I. Mostly only having experience wading and fly fishing before Todd was a great coach on technique and local fly selection for this part of the season. The stretch we did was not only beautiful but advanced paddling and He was a pro. We got into a ton of fish and my wife caught her largest and first cutthroat trout that day. I can see why Orvis endorsed Todd as he made it a great experience from pre -booking communication to the full day and everything in between.

This past Monday we spent a day on the Yakima River with Todd Fuchigami. It was a fantastic experience! I caught over 30 fish and hooked probably an equal number. I’m an average fly fisherman, so this happened because of Todd’s knowledge, teaching skill and patience. I’ve hired many fishing guides over the years and Todd stands above them all. If you want to fish the Yakima River, call Todd!

We went as a group. Our guides were all very friendly, knowledgeable and patient! Our package included a lunch. We were pleasantly surprised that the lunch was prepared and served on a little island in the middle of the Yakima river. The meal was great! BBQ steak and chicken, salad, and even a dessert! Definitely a great/fun opportunity. This was my first time fly fishing and I really enjoyed it and felt that I learned a lot.

Did a walk and wade with Keegan in September. What a great class. I had so much fun and Keegan is an excellent guide. He gave me pointers to help me with everything from casting to just tricks for stringing up my rod. I can’t wait to try a drift boat trip with him. He also cooks a great steak! So worth it. Highly recommend Keegan as a guide!

Went for a drift down the Yak with Keaton last week (mid Oct ‘21) - had a blast! He’s a smart angler, been fly fishing for years, knows the local rivers, including some secrets on the Yak! I had 8 rainbows and a whitefish in the net, plus another 8-10 hits that I missed. Keaton is great guide on the Ellensburg team. I’ll be calling him for all my Washington fishing trips.

Had a great time on the Yakima River today with Todd. He taught us old timers with 20+ years of experience a few new tricks and corrected some old habits that we had. Well worth the time on the river with an expert

Amazing day on the river! Caught a TON of luggers and couldn’t keep the slabs off the fly! However, even if I didn’t catch any fish, I would still have had a blast! Todd was patient, funny, and a wonderful guide. He really touched up my casting/technique and was very knowledgeable about the river. He was super helpful in reaching my full fishing potential - which I definitely did today (emptied the Yakima with both dry flies and nymphs!!)

The owner Todd, took my gf and I out on an awesome half day guide! I had never caught fish before the day we went, and after our trip I can say I've caught fish! Multiple! The guide Todd was very knowledgable and it was easy to apply the information he told us to our guided experience fly fishing. I would recommend using this company and I will use them again in the future for an amazing fly fishing experience.

I love guided trips from Ellensburg Angler and try and get out at least once a year. Todd and the team make trips so enjoyable and provide everything I need for a day on the river. I don't get out to fish often so I love the convenience of using a fully guided service to provide the rods, bugs, waders, and even lunch to make the trip that much more enjoyable. Todd is an expert and constantly provides guidance throughout the whole trip to be more successful and land more fish. Regardless of weather conditions and flow rate, Todd continuously puts clients in great spots for catching fish and ensures giant smiles throughout the day. I've occasionally brought co-workers with me who have never fly fished before and Todd eloquently explains the techniques of fly fishing to ensure everyone is able to get hits and land fish throughout the trip. Highly recommend Ellensburg Angler whether you're a novice or a seasoned pro.

My 1/2 day guided trip with Stefan was my first fly fishing experience and it was great. He was very patient (lots of flies were lost) and knowledgable and knew when to boost the ego with a compliment on your rookie casting skills. Highly recommend Ellensburg Anglers! The lunch provided exceeded expectations as well👍🏻

Went out for a float today with Todd. He is a great guide. He works really hard changing patterns, fly depths, techniques. He works the whole river. I was very rusty and he gave me plenty of pointers and was extremely patient. I'm going back in a couple of weeks to see if I can put those pointers to work.I highly recommend!

Won’t hesitate to book again! This was a great trip from the start of the booking to the last 100 yards of our 13-mile float. The booking process was easy. They were very quick to respond, and very accommodating with my all my questions. If I missed something though then it was all covered in their “Trip Confirmation Letter.”The Trip:We booked two boats for an October 2nd full day Yakima trip with two absolute beginner, and two intermediate fly anglers. Our two guides were Todd, and Keaton. Both guides were exceptional. Their ability to assess skill level, instruct to our weaknesses, build on our strengths, and put us in positions to still catch fish was exceptional. They made it easy to learn while also never letting the amount of new information become overwhelming. Many times, they would pair their instructions with information about the river, the fish, and their food source. This gave us a better understanding of the techniques they taught us, and why they worked.WE CAUGHT FISH, A LOT OF FISH! We lost more than we caught though haha. What we caught though we caught with our new skills and on our own merit. Both guides were very good at giving us the tools we needed to get the job done, and putting us in a position to be successful but also giving us space to simply just fish, and figure it out if we wanted. All and all the four of us had a blast. When the trip finally ended, we found ourselves shaking Todd and Keaton’s hand multiple times, and Jokingly (but not really) planning for the next Ellensburg angler trip. It was well worth the money, and I am excited to do it again but on one of their other guided locations perhaps.

I had a blast with Todd on the Yakima! The entire experience, from researching their website, booking my trip and the overall trip was absolutely fantastic! These guys know how it’s done, I am loyal to Orvis and once I saw that they were the 2016 Orvis endorsed guide of the year, I was sold. And they certainly earned that endorsement!Todd, thank you so much! You put me on some great fish and it was a fun time.I highly recommend that you book a trip with the Ellensburg Angler, I will definitely be back! You can count on that!I

My brother-in-law Dustin and I went on a half day beginner float this last Sunday with our guide Kyle. It was exactly what we were looking for. Fly fishing is one of those sports that can come across as inaccessible without an in, and this was exactly what we were looking for to get started. Kyle was super nice, laid back, and hospitable. We immediately felt comfortable with him and didn't feel stupid asking him all the questions that come with something as technical, at least superficially, as fly fishing. Ultimately it isn't as daunting as we thought, and both of us drove away nodding our heads that hey, "we can do this"!We embarked at around 2pm and didn't get out of the water until around 9pm, Kyle made sure to check in with us and make sure that this wasn't going to affect our plans for drive home. The more time on the water the better from our point of view, and between fishing, a nice bbq chicken lunch on an island on the river, and chatting with Kyle it flew by. It was quite a windy day but thankfully Kyle was able to find us some calm spots where we were able to catch some fish. Our first on fly rods. For all the fish we caught we probably lost double that amount amount in fly's (which mostly Kyle had tied himself) and he was super gracious in assuring us it wasn't a big deal, even when I almost lost half his fly rod.Ultimately what we wanted was a good time, and to feel like this might be something we could do on our own in the future. Kyle and Ellensburg Angler delivered, and I would definitely recommend them for anyone with similar aspirations. Thanks again!

Knowing these guys on a more personal level, I get a behind a scenes look at the hard work, preparation, and dedication that they put in to providing their clients with the best possible experience while out on the water. Even their guide days off are never just about hitting the water for fun. It's about staying dialed in with their local waters, or exploring new ones just in case the rivers throw them a curve ball or simply because a client wants to try something new. Whatever you're looking for in a guide trip experience, they've got you covered!

My wife and I went down the yak with Todd from Ellensburg angler. My wife had never fly fished before and with Todds expert advise and a quick 15 min casting exersise along with other tips, she was casting better than me.We stopped for lunch on a small island in the river and had a 5 star meal cooked on a grill not a phony bologna sandwich, were talkin steak, salad (with fixins), potato salad, apples and Todds wife made the most delicious part (butter cake)! My wife did catch the biggest one of the day although everytime she hooked a rock or tree branch, she screamed with excitement. I felt bad for Todd.lol.Great Company, great guides who dont get upset with beginners or at all, clean boats, lots of snacks and drinks and much more. This will be an annual trip for our anniversary for years to come!

We had an absolute blast with Todd on the river. Todd is an energetic and patient professional and made the day unforgettable. Not only was he able to get us onto several fish, he provided such an abundance of knowledge and was an amazing instructor. Even when sets were missed and our casts were poor, Todd kept up spirits and kept helping us improve and learn the craft. We will definitely be back to fish with Ellensburg Angler, and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I attended a "walk and wade" class a week ago, and I HIGHLY recommend it for anglers of all levels. First, it's an amazing price, you learn a TON, the guides are great, and the level of service is so high, I don't even know how they make money offering that class. When I showed up and saw a trailer, I was a little skeptical, but meeting Mike quickly dispelled any worries that this was some fly-by-night operation. In fact, he's just a super-savvy business man who found a way to do his business in a way that's a win-win for everyone. I really appreciated how the class started with him asking what MY goal was. Fact is, I'm a terrible fisherman with a ton of bad habits obtained from my misspent youth, using lousy equipment on a river in Montana where a blind goat using a jump-rope and a bent nail could catch fish. I'm just getting back to fly fishing after a 20yr hiatus. So, I wanted to learn everything I could, and Mike delivered. From rigging, knots, line, gear, casting styles, reading water and even great holes to get a line wet, my brain hurt. Mike patiently put up with all my inane questions, dumb stories and general ineptitude and taught me more in a day than I learned in my whole life prior. I think I ruined two tippets and lost four flies, and the worst criticism I got was, "Looks like this one got cast a few times like that." I bet there are kindergarten teachers with less patience. Dude even GRILLED lunch for me and two other people and served it up streamside on a fold out table he had in his truck. Did I mention that he drove the whole day and never fished? I stink, so I never caught anything, but that wasn't the point of the class anyway. Yet, I definitely will sign up for this one again in the future. After I go ruin my own tackle trying all the spots he showed us that day. I think anyone from a beginner to a life-long fly fisherman has something to learn from these guys. There's just no pretentiousness with these guys, just really hard work helping you achieve what you want out of your lesson. Can't say enough good things about Ellensburg Anglers.

The cancellation policy is pure theft. The noise from the very busy freeway right next to the park is loud. The park owner is a rude and very angry person.
