Building a computer, and ran out of screws, and just needed a few small 2.5mm screws. So my wife quickly goes to ACE because they usually are good help. Today 01/24/24 she came in a few minutes before close, when they close at 7. I thought it would be just fine to go in then because all we needed was a screw. Instead she was greeted by a really nice gal on front desk, then a male employee came and instantly came out and made her feel uncomfortable. He made her seem like she was an inconvenience, even though she was in and out in a couple minutes. She told him what screw, i needed and mentioned that i was building a pc. He goes "yeah a guy comes in all the time he builds pcs" and thought he knew exactly what screw to get. She asked if it was a 2.5 mm and he goes "No thats a 6mm thats the smallest one we have, how many? Ok thatll be .40 cents" and rushes her out. Guys if you dont want to be open until 7pm, then close earlier, or at least have some decent attitude, then maybe you will retain some customers. Because you are giving me every reason in the book to order off of amazon.

I recently moved to the area and there were a few problems with my new home. I needed some items for a few repairs and Ellensburg Ace had them all! I couldn't believe they had everything I needed. The store is packed with every hardware item imaginable! The customer service was awesome too. Thanks Ace!!!

Decent prices, love the store update; friendly, helpful staff! I recently purchased a shed online - only ship to store was offered. When I went to pick it up, we realized the package was way too large for my vehicle and I couldn't have lifted it alone. Their awesome staff sprang to action, offered to drop it off & did so right away (I live locally). As a single mom, this was a huge help and such a kind act made my afternoon. I could not be more thankful 👍

Broke my Toyota key fob . Renè at ACE Hardware in Ellensburg replaced and programmed new one for 250 bucks less than a quote from dealership. He was very knowledgeable and friendly during the hour it took to get this completed

The employees are the only reason why I would shop at Ace Hardware, I'm not a hundred percent sure of the reason for why they feel that there products are worth so much more than everyone else's that are here in town? However I do feel better about paying extra when I am being treated as A valued customer. With Amazon taking over the retail industry I know how hard it is for small business to be professional and profitable. There is a older employee that should be recognized for all of the good he does and he is always ready to answer all of my " Out of the Ordinary" questions. I wish that more stores had employees with the same💯 dedication as (JOHN)🧑‍🔧 does to their job, he is the reason that I don't mind spending a little extra to get valuable and solid information for my own projects 🔧 .

I bought a chainsaw yesterdayWe used it today after 1-2 hours it broke. The chain tightening nob was broken, it wouldn't move, so it wasn't anything we did. It was a defected chaindaw. We went to exchange it and they told us we couldn't exchane it because it had gas in it. DUH

Quick help from all parties to get you what you need - but some times too quick. Helpful if you get one of the older people that works there. Younger workers often don't know much about the tools or paint. They charged me for the wrong water heater one time, and didn't fully close the lid on some paint another time - both times because they seemed to be in such a hurry.

Called in to ask if they had something in stock.. they said no .. but I went to look myself after calling other places. Ace had it.I guess worker was too lazy to look on their computer or look at the freaking shelves. Maybe they were new and didnt know what the were doing. Either way this situation seems to be from negligence.I'm fine since I got what I needed but what if I was elderly or disabled and couldn't have looked or thought I needed to drive to Yakima? This is a big disservice to the community in my opinion. People need stuff at Ace, in my case for my washing machine. It isn't like everyone can wait around for the mail, go to other cities, or walk around to do their jobs for them. Really should be better.

I am by no means a handy person and I walked into the store knowing nothing about what I was looking for. All I had with me were two dresser knobs and two different types of screws but the gentlemen working was very knowledgeable and with the few word I was able to use to describe what I was looking for he solved my problem. Amazing customer service he even made sure to help us based closing. Exactly the customer service I expected from such a great store 👍👍

Woods is the best place to get a copy of a key made. Ask for Stephen, he is the best. Most of the employee are trained according to the manager BUT they all don't pay attention to detail like Stephen does. I had to make copies to 3 pieces of stationary equipment that turn off and on the computer that run the machines. My manager had one back up key made and it did not work (we supplied the blank because know one in town carried them) So I bought a different brand of blanks thinking that was the problem. I took the original key with the new blank and I just happened to get Stephen to cut my keys for me. As I watched him cut the keys I could tell he was paying close attention to detail. I took them back to the plant and they all worked. So I took more keys back to make more copies. It just so happened it was Stephens day off. The manager said everyone has been trained to make the keys. (I was skeptical) So I tried another employee. I took them back to the plant and tried them and they did not work. I was a little upset. (This person did not pay attention to detail) I called Woods and asked when Stephen was working again. It was the the next day. I went in and he was at lunch. So I dropped them off and told them I only wanted Stephen to make my keys. Stephen did cut them and I went and picked them up and tried them and they worked, all of them. So on Saturday I took the other brand key that my manager had taken to Woods to get cut a year ago that did not work to see if Stephen could fix it and make more back ups for me. Stephen did cut them and I took them to work on Monday to try them out and not to my surprise they all worked even the bad key that was cut a year age that did not work. Every key Stephen cut for me worked.To the Woods management please have Stephen train the rest of your employees that you are going to have cut keys for your customers. He knows how and you wont have to make keys for free when someone cuts a key wrong because they don't pay attention to details.Thank you for all your kindness and good service!!Ray

The staff at Ace is top notch! They are always knowledgeable and ready to help. Other stores you have to wonder around forever trying to find what you are looking for, which they likely don't even carry. At Ace the minute you walk through the door you are greeted by someone willing to help you find exactly what you are need. The staff is quite knowledgeable about home improvement and can recommend products and stand behind them. Christine is our favorite as she always welcomes our dog with a yummy milk bone!

Once upon a time I worked here. Enjoyed my job and the people I worked with. I go back from time to time for projects when I am back in town and the faces have changed but the level of service and dedication remain as high as they were. A big thanks to Ryan and Norm for being amazing mentors.
