We only came for a milkshake, but what a milkshake it was. Thick, creamy peanut butter and malt goodness. It's a no-frills cabin and the prices reflect that. Around 4 dollars for a milkshake, which is significantly cheaper than in fancy or trendy places. It's also an interesting spot to stop by and walk around the former railcars, where it feels like time has frozen.

I heard about this place from a co-worker. He stops every summer on the way to his family's camp spot. Feared that it would be seasonal, but they were open Thanksgiving weekend. $25 for two delicious burgers, french fries, and a chocolate shake. Just across the street is all sorts of train-based businesses. Makes for a fun and filling stop.

Really good burgers and crisp fries. The burgers seem like they have gotten smaller than they used to be but they're still really good. A little overpriced considering the size but for a good lunch while on a road trip, it's not bad.Parking: Street side parking accommodates probably 10-ish cars. Plenty of parking nearby so even if it's full, you can still park very close by.

Takes way too long. Rediculous, I should have noticed that NO ONE out of all the tables had food. Took an HOUR. Takes no cash which is fine, go across the street and get the other food. Almost $9 for this? Is this a joke?

No pretenses here- a fantastic side-of-the-road burger joint, with tasty, quality meat. The young folks there are pleasant and hard-working- deserve thanks & appreciation. Also loved the onion rings and double crispy fries! It's cooked to order, so it takes a few minutes... Highly recommended

I have missed the opportunity to stop at this highly recommended burger stand the last few years as they have been closed during the pandemic. Rumor has it that they may only be open this summer as it has been a challenge to staff the stand. I grabbed a hot brakes burger and it was absolutely worth the wait! One of the tastiest burgers I've had in a long time and the order of fries was super generous. If you are heading out to Rainier through Elbe, you've got to stop here while you still can!

They either have the best shakes in the world or not worth the time. Wouldn't know because never got ours. After a day of hiking stopped because saw they had banana milkshakes which my 6 year old son loves. Was told it'd be about a 10 min wait because they are hand scooped and a few people had ordered just before us. No problem. After 10-15 min everyone in front us has their orders which included 4-5 milkshakes. I thought surely ours would be next and soon. About 10 min later they called 3 orders for people that ordered after us. Seeing my incredulous face I was told our shakes would be right out. Wrong answer, our shakes should already be out. With that we left without our shakes and $12 poorer. Definitely learned never to tip before receiving your order and learned never to stop here again

Pretty unique atmosphere with the whole train atmosphere, it was about a 30 minute wait. The burger that I got was the jalapeno and swiss. It seemed a little pricey for what it was ($9.00 for a 1/4lb burger) but the friendly town and ambiance was enjoyable. Met a wonderful grandmother whom joined my table and we spoke for well over 40 minutes about local attractions and her family history.....something that you can't put a price on. Food was middle of the road but the whole experience earned the stars!

We ordered the Overload and Legal burger with fries and a drink. It ended up being $25 and an hour and 10 minute wait. We were recommended this place by a friend, so we purposely stopped on the way back from camping. The burger was okay, nothing special and the fries were just bland steak fries. I didn't see or feel anything special to warrant the price or wait, or the cash only mandate. The overload burger was smaller than my legal burger. They weren't nearly big enough, even for small stomach.Out and About burger is ahead of this place, and the chain Five Guys is comparable to the price but has bigger burgers, that taste a lot better, with a large amount of fries given. If the wait hadn't been so long I would've given a 3.5 star, but again nothing about the food warranted the stop, price, or wait. It was something you could've made at home.

We LOVED this place. We would often drive the hour just to eat lunch. Today I checked the website to make sure it was open and the website said open until 5:45. So we jumped in the truck and headed out. When we got there the green board was down and it was closed. We went to a gift shop next door and was told it had sold to new owners and then shut down. We were sad to hear this as it’s our favorite lunch stop. I hope they can update the sites so it reflects that they are closed. We saw several other people walk over and find the same disappointment we did.

Great place to stop for a burger if you happen up or down the mountain road. Small drive with outdoor seating only. A little on the pricey side but delicious. Can be extremely busy. I normally just order the regular cheeseburger and a shake which is fantastic.

After reading Map reviews, I decided to swing by here on my way back to Seattle from Mt. Rainier and I'm glad I did. The menu was split on both sides of the cashier's window, so initially I missed the shakes side, and when I told the cashier of this she replied, "the shakes are amazing", so after such a bold statement I had to try one - and I'm glad I did.The burger was good, in its own right, but the shake was definitely on another level, and all I bought was the vanilla (they had about 8 other flavors to choose from, as well as a malt style). Highly recommended.
