For many years we would come here as a tradition when going to Mt Ranier NP. Today will be our last. We ordered four different $22 hamburgers and received double cooked cold french fries and double cooked extra dry well done burgers. The only thing good was the bun the burgers come on. You would think with a restaurant so far outside of town, the food would be amazing for any price to keep people coming back. Unfortunately this experience was awful and I would recommend you to go somewhere else.

Our server was very nice, it is obvious they are understaffed so everything took a little longer than expected, but service was friendly. The food was less than spectacular, kinda dry and overspiced. The atmosphere is great with the restaurant being an old box car. We were a bit thrown off that our party of 6 had a 25% auto-gratuity...we are used to a higher auto-gratuity but 25% seemed excessive, especially since it wasn't super busy and the food took almost 35 minutes to come out.

My wife and I found this place by accident and we are happy we did. It said they were short staffed and to be patient. All I have to say is, the waitress on duty is a Rockstar. I mean a Rockstar. She was doing a awesome job and the wait was not long at all. The food was great. The service was even better. The waitress deserves a massive raise, she was nice, hardworking and on time. Plus professional. It was a delight to dine here and she deserves all the credit. Fun place to eat and great food. We will be back. Thank you for making our vacation awesome. I wish I would of got her name. She deserves recognition. We were there Sunday Aug 6th 2023. Thank you

I am always leary of diners that have a theme park look, but this was a true find on the way to Mt. Ranier. One server, great menu selections, a busy afternoon, but no problem! Our service was first rate, the food WAY ABOVE AVERAGE! Every table I could hear said, the same, wow, this is really good! So, don't be fooled by the outside. It's still a train car and definitely on the right track!

Nice family owned restaurant. Seems like good people and has a good story. Built by the grandfather in the late 80's, I talked with the grandson. Fries were amazing, fresh cut. Burgers were subpar, something I'd expect at my friend's 5 year old backyard birthday party. I ordered the trainwreck and wife had a lettuce wrapped bacon burger. Both patties were tough, and looked like something from Costco's frozen section. At least my burger had pulled pork which was tender. Should have listened to the guy across the road and ordered the sliders.

What a beautiful train car! What a shame the food was terrible. We tried grilled chicken fettucine, chicken fried steak, blackberry salmon, salmon fettucine, and a classic burger. The only one that was enjoyed was the burger. I mean how can you mess up a burger though right?Everything else tasted like frozen dinner. Chicken was not grilled. Tasted more like that frozen fake chicken.Fettucine alfredo was watery, tasteless, similar to eating noodles in milk.Salmon was bland and tasted as though had been boiled instead of broiled. All fries ordered were burnt. Completely burnt. I had asked for a side salad and it was wilted. Im not sure why they would send food out this way. Such a shame.Management needs to throw out all food being used and replace it with fresh ingredients. Would make this place amazing.2 stars..1 for the poor wiatress handling all tables by herself and 1 for the burger. We definitely recommend you go elsewhere☹️

The only good part about this place is cute train setting and nice view of painting on some trailer across the street. Food not the best and expensive. Also we got charged like 35% tip, but they refunded whole bill after I complained so changing review to 5 stars. Lady who served there look like has drug issues, but who am I to judge? Just throwing it out there for fyi, so u don't expect anything fancy prior to coming here. I would come here maybe in future but only for like a beer and salad, just because people are nice there and they have electric vehicle chargers.Parking: Electric car stations, which sometimes has some garbage truck parked blocking it. Luckily there are 2 spaces

Dinner in a railroad car, that doesn't require tickets or reservations? Sign me up! Who cares if it's not chugging along on the tracks?Sure, a meal-on-the-go is certainly something to experience, but the Mount Rainier Railroad Dining is *so* much more accessible. Serving up large portions at slightly inflated prices, by slightly-aloof servers, this long, narrow diner is precisely 50% of the reason anyone would ever come to visit the tiny town of Elbe (the other half being the Hobo Inn, a hotel that is an extension of the restaurant).Avoid the Bloody Mary, as it is watery and unimpressive. Similarly, if the soup du jour is chicken egg-drop, give it a pass as well. Conversely, the Bacon Bleu Cheeseburger and the Fish and Chips are both fantastic, so the pub grub here comes highly recommended. So don't jump the tracks and try something unusual, and you're sure to have a thoroughly enjoyable meal! And remember, this is a train, so don't forget to CHEW CHEW!Parking: Free parking. EV charging station out front.

Wonderful dinner, food was good. Make sure that you do have a reservation, much easier if you do. Luckily we did. Brought back many fond memories of past family times.Even found some pretty sites along the river for an after dinner walk.

Food was decent. They were out of blackberry salmon. Servers were nice but not very professional. Music was too loud. Everything was clean and being in an old train car was cool. Not a bad place but not great either.Parking: There several dirt spots right in front.

Service was great. They get a star. Atmosphere was great. They get another star. However, it ended there because the food was just not good for the price. Salmon should not be served on a bed of onions. It is too overpowering. The portion was good, but the sides were meant to accompany a plate of ribs, not salmon. I'm sure their beef and pork dishes were great for someone who enjoys eating mammals. Pretty cool concept and it would be fun for kids and maybe breakfast. So out of the benefit of doubt for other dishes I have another star.

Restaurant entry is a little interesting but the food and drinks are very professional!! My wife and I had a Blackberry Daiquiri and a Long Island Iced Tea. Both were amazing. We also ordered the Chicken Bleu Cheese salad which was very filling and the Monte Cristo sandwich! The sandwich was cooked to perfection. The tab was pretty pricey though so be ok spending $16-$20 for an entree.

Nice restaurant modeled using the old rail coach and kids will love the ambience. Italian cuisine was nice. For large groups wait time can be little high.

Waited for 20+ minutes to make our order. And there were only 4 tables with customers. Then waited for 30+minutes to get our 1 salmon burger. Restaurant has a very nice historical atmosphere, but service is expected to be faster.

This place must’ve fallen under new management recently or something…My in-laws brought us here after having recently visited it a few years ago and they raved about how good it was. And I believed them. From the photos posted, it looked amazing! However, when a business has to advertise that they have “Great food!” on their sign out front…that usually doesn’t indicate they have great food. And that is true here.My wife got the Mt. Rainier burger and it was good, but not $16 good. I got the elk burger and it too was okay, but definitely not worth $21 ($18 + $3 for two small strips of bacon).Oh, and the worst part is seeing all of the breakfast items in the photos on here, and then there being no breakfast menu!

Shockingly bad food. The meat patties on our burgers were about 1/8" thick and gray in color. The meat was rubbery in texture and questionably cooked. We chose not to eat this (fairly expensive) food. See picture. This place has a decent rating score, so I'm not sure why this food left their kitchen today. Maybe they will respond and explain here. Off day? Strange.
