Great place to grab a burger and shake. I hade the bacon blue cheese burger, and mocha shake, which was delicious. you can't sit inside because the place has so many flies. It was a hot day so you also didn't want to sit outside in the sun. One of the other customers told us there was picnic tables on the sides where the flies won't get you. They have 3 tables in the shade and another 2-3 in the sun. There is parking on both sides also. It took a little while for the burger to get done, and they ran out if cups foe the soda machine so we had to use the coffee cups. I would come back for the burgers and shakes!

Stopped here on our way to lake Diablo. Terrible experience. We ordered three milkshakes and waited for 55 minutes only to take refund at the end for two of them. The person who took our order was extremely rude and unfriendly. They did not even give us a cup of water when asked but instead went back to make milkshakes. To our surprise, several people who ordered after us got their order earlier. We patiently waited for 55 minutes and when we saw that they have served chocolate milkshake (the same thing we ordered) to the people who came after us, we took the refund and left the place. There was no point in waiting for hours when it was clear that they were not interested in completing our order. Never stopping here ever again.

I bought a bacon cheeseburger and it was well prepared with fresh condiments.The young woman who was both cashier and cook, was friendly and quick and overall did a good job.I would go back there again if I were hungry and traveling through Darrington.

Arrived just after 4pm and there was a decent line and all of the outdoor seating was taken. Luckily by the time we ordered a table opened up. They are doing window service only, no indoor dining currently. The outdoor seating area is very nice with some picnic tables and umbrellas in a grassy yard with mountain views.The menu is on a standard letter sized piece of paper taped to one of the windows, so if the line is long you can’t exactly see the menu until you get closer. It’s a small operation so don’t expect your food right away if it’s sightly busy, but it was all tasty. Our onion rings and fries came out just a tad on the cool side, but I think the kitchen had to put our burgers on pause to remake an alleged wrong order from the party ahead of us (who actually let their kids order on their own and they probably just forgot what they asked for by the time they got their food).We got the Special (Cheesburger Deluxe w Fries) and the Bacon Bleu Burger and Onion rings. As I mentioned the fries n rings werent very warm but they were still great. This place has amazing Tartar sauce! The shakes were good too. We had a chocolate and a black raspberry. The burgers were nice but they’re just average. I’d come back if passing through but wouldnt go out of my way.

Ordered food from here to-go so we could eat it up in the mountains. By the time we ate it was of course cold, but it still tasted delicious. Next time I will eat it sooner just so I get to eat it the way its meant to be eaten. :) Added 4 sides of seasoned fries since we were 6 of us. Kids meals got their own fries and those combined with the rest of the fries were enough for 8 people to eat I feel. Plus the views around are unbeatable. They should probably have some outdoor seating unless i missed it.Vegetarian options: Got garden burgers. So rare when you are on the road, especially good ones.

This is a great little mountain town burger place. Nothing special, but that's what was so great about it. I love finding the little road side places along my journey's, I would definitely check this place out if you are in town.

Nice outside seating, it's like you're at a backyard for a BBQ. Food takes a little while but it's a small staff so I don't blame them. I got the Jalapeno Bacon burger, and while the burgers are on the small side they definitely have a homemade feel to them. Little pricey, but worth it.

They just changed their closing time to 8pm, which worked out for us coming late from a hike off Hwy 20. The place is run by three sisters, and I truly enjoyed their hospitality. We both got the bacon burgers, and they were juicy and well portioned. The FRIES were the perfect texture of crunchy outside and tender inside, while the flavor/seasoning was on point. They provide dressing and ketchup too, but everything that we had was so good on it's own. Stop by and grab a bite on your way home from the North Cascades. Make sure the driver stays awake though! Your body will be asking for a nap afterwards. 😄 p.s. They sell drip coffee also. I realized my mistake of not getting one 20 mins after we left.

After a less-than-satisfying trip to the Marblemount Diner, we needed to stop elsewhere to fulfill our shake and fries needs. We stopped at the Barn and received super fast and friendly service, as well as cheap and delicious food. This will be our new spot in that area.

A group of 13 pilots (7 airplanes) arrived at the Darrington Airport on a sunny day, Dec 3, and walked to the Burger Barn. When we placed our orders, there was only one young woman who took the orders & filled the orders, keeping track of who order what! The food was good, the hamburgers and buns warm, the chocolate shake cold and thick and plenty of picnic tables for all of us to be seated. A good experience and we will definitely be back.

Good food here. I nearly didn’t visit due to the reviews... good thing I didn’t listen.This is the only burger shop near the cascades; we came around 430pm and there were around 5 other parties waiting for food. Our 3 burgers, fries, shakes came out within 10 minutes and were hot and fresh. Very tasty!

I love this place so much, first time here, and it's convenient; they have a bathroom here, seating in and outside; extremely fair prices!This honestly is the best option here in town, for all of family! And they have plenty of flavors for milkshakes;They have so many options I wish I could of gotten it all but it was so hard to choose!Also the customer service is absolutely outstanding, they are so friendly here especially when I had a bunch of questions, they were not annoyed with me at all!Thank you for providing a wonderful place to eat!Kid-friendliness: They are absolutely amazing and so friendly here ☺️

Love this place! Stop here on our way back after going to the North Cascades. It's the perfect treat after a long day of playing or hiking.Milkshakes are the best. Get the huckleberry if they have it!My only complaint is the wait. Doesn't seem like they have a system in place for orders and they just complete them at random. Waited a loooong time for our milkshakes.Worth the wait though if you have the time! We stopped at the gas station next to this little spot and decided to stop here to eat on our way to North Cascades National Park. At first we were whatever about trying it but it turned out to be really good!! I got the jalapeño burger and my sister got the BLT and they were both delicious so I can see why people stop here.

Terribly slow service. Took us 45 minutes to get two burger and a fries on a regular day. Made a pit stop here on our way to the national park thinking we could avoid conventional fast food. Bad decision.

Near perfect drive in experience: can't do anything about being so good you've got a line. My favorite music was on the stereo, because it was the stereo in my car. If the atmo isn't great, well, that's kinda on me, isn't it? They brought the order to my car and everything was still so hot we had to give it a minute. Fried mushrooms and onion rings were fantastic. Ranch had a good deal of dill and that's really the only ranch I'll mess with. My friend said their burger was great. Can't beat that.

We saw what looked like a little adorable hole in the wall "burger dive" on our way up to my grandsons Dads funeral in Twisp, we had already eaten but made a point to take the "long way" home back so we could stop and eat here as over the 31 years married with 3 now adult kids we road tripped alot and always found these kinda places are the BEST!!!well, we were starving! And grandson has low blood sugar so we got there just in time.There was no prices anywhere posted but the menu was written very clearly on a large chalk board over the few tables inside.We didn't care at that point we just needed to order asap so our grandson didn't slip into his horrible non compliant refusing to eat cause he's gonna prove its not his low blood sugar even though he knows it Is attitude that we haven't seen in 4 years -With the order we ordered a large diet coke, large coke and water- which we assumed came out of the fountain machine that sits immediately to the left of the only counter in there- where ya order and pick up- the burgers were simple one double and one single burger no cheese on either both with extra pickle and onion ( the girl confirmed it came on it already along with lettuce, tomato, Mayo, ketchup and mustard if wanted-We both said we want it all on there minus the ketchup and don't forget the extra pickles and onions - hubby ordered a large fry and onion ring for me-By then our grandson decided he wanted the bacon burger and asked what came on it and it's the same as mine except it has cheese and bacon on it.He's somewhat picky still but not like he was when younger which is what he reverts back fo when blood sugar rapidly declining - he ordered the bacon cheese burger with ONL
