My dad and I stayed here for our Mt St Helen’s hike. Prior to our hike I was emailing back and fourth with Stacy (possible owner). She was so kind and reassured me she saved us our campsite. When we arrived I met her in person. She was so kind! She gave us information and a map so we were prepared for the hike. The morning after our hike we went in to get some coffees. She remembered we were going on a hike and said she was watching out for us. She said that if we didn’t return she had help on standby to send for us. I thought that was very genuine of her. We told her about the hike and some of the issues we faced. She said she was even going to inform the correct people to see if changes could be made. She was a great source of information and a true kind person. I will definitely recommend this campsite!Nearby activities: Close to Woodland. 6 miles from Mt St Helen’s hike & Ape Caves. So many things to do out this!Safety: The campground felt very safe. Location is tucked off the busy road. Bathrooms have a code to get in and out with a deadbolt.Walkability: Very close to everything in town. There is a gas station across the street, the Lone Fir (Restaurant & full bar) just down the road, and Cougar Bar & Grill is on the opposite side of town just a tad further down.Food & drinks: The office is stocked with anything you may have forgotten at home along with snacks, drinks, & ice. They even have an espresso bar & pastries.

Steve and Stacy (owners) have really fixed the park up nice . Shady with lots of trees but spots where the sun shines in . We have been having extended family camping here every august since they bought the place . Some family have rented cabins while most are in RVs with full hook ups . We usually stay over a week . We walk to the stores and rustic restaurants close by and they have adult beverages available , I ride my bike ,play basketball with the grands or we go to the ape caves for a fun day or the lake for fishing and swimming . The camp owners will do everything possible to make you stay relaxing and fun . They have specially coffees and ice and a few other things available in a small store on site. We already have plans for our next stay in august of 2024 .

The owners of this park go above and beyond for their guests. My two sisters along with myself were solo traveling and ran into a lack of campgrounds in the town we had to stay for the night. We ended up going to 5 different campsites all completely booked up and by perfect timing we ran into the owner at a gas station who recognized us and told us to follow her back to her camp where she was kind enough to give us a spot for the night. If it wasn’t for her we would’ve ended up staying on the side of the road. I can’t thank her enough for being such a kind person.

This is not a great campground. Our spot was right next to the highway, which was weird and unexpected. It felt like we were on display for the drivers on the highway. The toilet rooms were not clean. The light was out in one of them and replaced with a dim motion activated battery light.

The grounds and facilities are well kept and clean, but what really sets this park apart from others are the owners and staff. They are incredibly helpful, accommodating, and friendly. They made our camping trip perfect! We will definitely stay again!!

Stacy and husband were incredibly nice and helpful. I’d say over the top nice service oriented people. That’s why my 5 stars, they deserve it.The downside was that there’s a big deal of campers, mostly RV campers, that incredibly rude, loud, disrespectful, distasteful: loud music, loud idle for minutes trucks, political pointless political displays,… just a general attitude of I own the land around me whatever I go.My wife and are much different, more of being one with nature, be quiet, enjoy the crackling fire sound, the stars, the trees. If you are a tent camper, I don’t recommend the place, irrespective of how wonderful the owners are.

Was able to call and get a site last minute, stayed for three nights! Owners are incredibly nice!! They have a little store in the office and wood for sale. There’s another worker that goes by and collects trash in the morning. They also had a kid friendly movie playing on the lawn Saturday night!Overall it’s a clean and friendly place!! We already decided to be back next year. Amazing experience

Friendly camp hosts, clean campsites and nice amenities. Stayed here after spending the day exploring Mt. St. Helens during a West Coast camping trip. Would stay here again if the opportunity arises!

It was our first stay here! Stayed in Cabin 1 and loved it. I loved the wood bench by the fire pit. Owners Stacy and Steve were very nice and if anything was needed they were there and willing to help. WiFi was spotty but it was good enough. I read a lot of reviews prior to our stay, that mentioned permanent residents, Yes there are a few but it wasn’t as big of a deal as some mentioned. The back of the park is beautiful and cozy. Restrooms had a wait during peak evening shower time, but other than that not too bad of a wait. Quiet hours were observed and it really was quiet and peaceful. We will definitely be back!

My daughter and I rented the " fully equipped " cabin which had a kitchenette , hot plate, micro, bar fridge and full bathroom. When we pulled in through the RV section it looked like a residential RV park rather than a campground. I wasn't expecting that. We looked lost and someone told us Steve was the owner and he was working on construction of a new cabin. It was right next to our cabin. so we were essentially in the middle of a construction site for our view. The check in time was noon on arrival day and we got there closer to 2p. He was working with another guy who appeared to live there on the property , in a tent directly behind our cabin. He seemed nice enough but we were there to just chill and lay in our swimsuits if the sun allowed...there is no way I would have felt comfortable doing so.We left and went to a park to hang out and when we return they had finished setting up our hang out area and even built us a fire and comped the wood so we thought that was really nice. Both the hosts are super nice.I would just say its not very private and your camping in an RV residential park with a few cabins and some tent space. I felt the 125.00 plus tax was too high. You can rent a nicer place for the price.

This is a nice Rv park with plenty of shaded sites. The cabin was clean and in nice condition. The staff was great. We had a good experience here.Nearby activities: Located close to Swift Reservoir and just down the street from Lewis Lake access. Great for boaters!

We booked a site here as a last resort, because everything else in the area was full. It's an interesting mix of campground and kind of a trailer park, with the permanent RV residents, which tend to junk up the place a little bit. The campground is next to the busy road, so you get some loud traffic from time to time. The bathrooms are ok. There are 2 large rooms with showers, and they had just installed 2 new rooms, with toilets and sinks only. We ended up with a great site towards the back and on the side. It was quiet and peaceful. Although we enjoyed our stay, if the place was full, I can see it being a very different experience. We couldn't get wifi at our site, but we didn't care. The cabins looked fun. The owners are very nice.

The space easily accommodated a 40ft motor home with 3 slides and had tons of room to spare. Full hook-ups with clean showers and toilets and friendly staff. We were able to have a campfire (a lot of places don't allow) and are a few blocks from restaurants, gas/diesel, ice, wood, and snacks. Pet friendly! Close to rock beaches and several boat launches and 8mi from Ape Caves (which is a MUST SEE). Just make sure you get the parking pass AND the entrance pass before arriving there. Will happily stay here again. We were assigned a spot online, but after I called and spoke with Stacy in the office, she reassigned us to a spot that would be better for our rig -- and she did is a great service with that reassignment because our spot was MASSIVE. Also, there were no partiers or late night revelries when we stayed from 9/12 to 9/15, so it was nice and quiet.

We have both camped and stayed in your cabins! This place is run so well. The owners are very friendly and work so hard to make your trip special. When we camped, you delivered firewood right to our site! When we stayed in the Cabin in Spring you turned on the heat well before we arrived in the late afternoon and it was so nice and cozy! Bathrooms are clean and modern with plenty of hot water! I and my family highly recommend Cougar RV Park and Campground.

Leaves a bit to be desired. Lots of things could be just kept up nicer. Bathrooms mediocre. Coin operated showers. Loud poultry all night.

Thought about a three star, but staff (owners) are very nice, and we had a nice stay. Did note WiFi is very poor, often even my phone would not connect and our Toshiba Laptop never would, even when in the office where the router is. The other thing we noticed is that there are some "long term" folks with very junkie spaces, cars that have not moved for a long time etc. Understand having long term folks for a constant income, but would not tolerate the messy sites. But, would stay again as nice location.

AWFUL!!!! This is a trashy trailer park with a handful campsites. It's weird and sketchy. The last time I was there, they were making improvements, so, it could be better now. As for me, when I camp now, I only stay at state camp grounds.

It's alright. Definitely more of an RV camp than I was expecting. If you're staying in a tent you may want to bring ear plugs. We were staying in the backside of the area, but could still hear the highway (traffic wasn't frequent, but when it was it was usually loud. The folks in the neighboring property were also blasting music late into the night, which was extremely annoying. However it was close to Gifford Pinchot and a good jumping off point for adventures in the forest

A bit small but during a time when everything was booked full we not only got a spot here, we were able to change to a more shaded area. The people who run the place are friendly and very helpful. There is firewood onsite for sale and a small bathroom, plus a couple port-a-potties, a couple small dumpsters and a few cans for trash and recycling. As the name implies there are RV spots along with a few small cabins and multiple tent spots. It's pretty close to a couple gas stations, a corner store, and a pretty good (Bigfoot themed) restaurant. There is water nearby for boating/swimming, and you aren't far from Mt. St. Helens and a few waterfalls and trails.

We left early from this site as the evenings were loud and rowdy and the sites had no privacy to sit and enjoy. Our first site, the electricity went out however the owner, Stacy, was very kind and gave us a new site. It seems that while the owners are very nice, the campground attracts a more rowdy crowd than we wanted for our two little boys and ourselves. There was also no where for the boys to really play. I wouldn’t really recommend it for families.

We stayed here 7.23 after a day at Ape Caves. The owner was wonderful. The campground was full (we didn't make reservations), but she had some overflow spots available. She drove us around to pick which one we would prefer. We also bought some firewood which she had somebody load up and bring down to our spot for us.The campground was clean and quiet at night. There were a lot of families there, so lots of children playing and some dogs that barked occasionally, but nothing distracting and not at night.Bathrooms were large for changing clothes and pretty clean, but even though they had mats down to help with water, there were some spots that were wet and would get a little muddy (but hey, you're camping so no biggy). People had left some of their shower things there which made it look messy, but there are a few people who live there so it may have been theirs.Overall, I would stay here again, but make reservations ahead of time. Again, the owner was great to work with and she gave us a little booklet with information for things nearby.

I'm going to be sad to leave this park but the time is around the corner. I wanted to leave a review. My wife and I travel for a living we've been to plenty parks sense we started this journey and I have to say this park has been one of my favorites, not only for the beautiful view, price and quietness but mainly the new owners who are great!!! Both worked for 15 plus years in corrections/forestry field now living the American Dream and owning their own business. I hope it all works out!! They've done a ton of work just sense we've been here. CAN'T wait to see the place next year!!! I seen a couple not so good reviews and in the parks favor I'd like to say that anything that is good takes time nothing happens over night!!! This park is still growing, changing and time is all it takes!! Management will fix any concerns a family may have about their stay a closed mouth doesn't get fed. There is one kid in this park and that's mine but if you come on a weekend all bets are off this IS a family friendly park there is always kids running around and haveing fun as kids should!!! Dogs are aloud here and as long as I've been here there are no unleashed dogs so again if there is unsupervised kids or unleashed dogs this is not one that is due to owners or establishment it is people who come in for camping. Please come see this park just once and talk with the owners if you are unhappy for any reason they really try to accommodate. Thanks Steve and Stacey it was a pleasure to meet you both.

The new owners are awesome! My husband and I and our 6 children are staying up here till our house is ready and they have been super great! My kids love it here and all the campers with short term and long term have treated my kids very well! The amount of clean up and work that has been done even since we have been here is amazing! They now have laundry available and a neat pond which the kids love! Will post picture later! It's quiet for the most part sometimes on the weekends u get your typical rowdy camper but Steve and Stacey are pretty good about getting them to quiet down! And it's absolutely gorgeous up here! If your debating going to lone fir or here choose here!! The owner at lone fir is not a very nice person and they a pricey! Oh and for those of you who can't live without out it there is free Wi-Fi too! I know once we move into our house if we want to go camping this is where we are coming!! Come join us!!

The tent sites here are good, not great. It's an open lawn close to traffic and close to the main entrance, so you'll be hearing a lot of late night traffic. However, the lawn quality, open space (great for large groups), cheap prices, and decent bathroom and shower facilities mean you'll have a good time. Every site has a large picnic bench and fire ring.
