We have driven by this place so many times... either it wasn't open, or it just was not a good time to stop. So this trip it worked out and we stopped for a late breakfast. First off the place is a cool, throwback cafe with old memorabilia. No credit cards, cash only. The food was great, large yummy portions, and the menu has a good variety to choose from. All of this would be a 4-5 starts for me normally. However, the service was a negative. There were only a couple other customers in the place and the waitress was very irritated by something. Not welcoming at all.We asked for a very simple substitution on the menu and we were rudely told no substitutions. That is totally fine, but rudeness is not. This could have become a regular stop for us as we drive by pretty frequently.... but I do not think we will stop again.

This place is a hidden gem. Amazing service. Fresh food that was all handmade. I mean the cheeseburger was perfect. The bun was grilled, perfectly cooked bacon and well proportioned condiments. Plus, the handcut fries were perfectly crispy. They even had places for their regulars to store their mugs! I can't wait to stop here again.

Chicken fried steak was awesome, sausage gravy was very good!Owner was our waitress, Very nice woman! Cares about the customers and makes sure everything is right! Biscuits and gravy was awesome! Half order is plenty for anyone, unless you have a extremely large appetite! Homemade Hashbrowns were incredible! Will definitely go back! Great little restaurant with great food! 👍

I didn't order anything but I stopped to ask some questions about the local area, and the people in the diner were friendly and knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I do recommend stopping at the Coffee shop that shares the same parking lot. She makes amazing coffee. There is a little seating area where you can enjoy the mountain view and the beautiful Swauk creek.

Tried stopping for the espresso bar but they were closed. Carla ran out and stopped us and offered us coffee and a cinnamon roll before they even opened. Coffee was fresh and the cinnamon roll was massive and delicious. Great stop on the way to Leavenworth!

Passed by a bunch of times and finally stopped. Wished we didn’t. The food was sub par. The hash browns tasted bad because they were not cooked correctly.. too high of heat, so they were under done but burnt. No flavor , but burnt. The bacon was really greasy.. like old greasy, floppy not crisp. The toast was probably the only thing that wasn’t screwed up, had no butter that I could detect. Won’t be back.

The serving sizes are HUGE. Ask for a cinnamon roll and be prepared to eat a whole dinner plate. I have never in my life enjoyed coffee, but Carla knows how to brew up the right pot. I don't know if it's the mountain well water or what. There are so many people that are regulars at this place. The owner is so welcoming and nice. They do accept card now.

Small roadside diner with attentive staff. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the hashbrowns are delicious. Got a beautiful slice of pie to go as well. Perfect stop to break up the two hour drive to Leavenworth with a little one.

Step back in time, slow down, spend an hour & enjoy some great home-cooked breakfast or lunch. I've been a Liberty Cafe fan for many years - Carla and her team do a fantastic job, it is always so nice to see everyone and catch up on all the goings on in Liberty gold country. I'm a fan of French toast for breakfast and the Miner's burger for lunch - or maybe a club sandwich with the soup of the day. Enjoy your meal and have fun exploring one of the most fascinating regions of the Pacific Northwest!

It was supposed to be a simple stop on the way back to Seattle where I found the best patty melt on cheesy rye I’ve ever had. The cook forgot my water but I got a free large coffee so no complaints it’s a hard time for us all. Don’t come unless you are ready to question how you have managed to live your whole life without this.

Delicious burgers and fish sandwich, fries, and tots! A little expensive but we enjoyed it picnic style at one of the outdoor tables! It was nice to stretch our legs, enjoy a bite, and be near the river.

I was so bummed. came here before change of ownership and it was wonderful. came back after and husband really enjoyed his meal sadly I found a hair in my party melt so I was out. decided to give it another shot because everyone has an off day. well I would have taken the hair to what we got the second time. I'm not even going to get into all the details because I don't want to be rude but I would just say maybe you may do better to press on into Leavenworth or cle elum. breakfast was almost 50 with a tip and for food I could t even eat either time it was a real disappointment.
