I don't usually write reviews but after my experience I felt it was worth the time to do so.Back in February I took my senior chihuahua in because he had sustained an injury to his front leg from a tumble he took. It was considered an "urgent care visit" so right off the bat it was a more expensive service even though I was a regular patient, annoying but not the end of the world. They vet told me they needed to do an x-ray and bloodwork to see if the dog was healthy enough for medication. I agreed and my dog was taken to the back to have these services performed. Upon return they said the leg wasn't broken and it was likely a soft tissue injury. They also said that the lab results looked good and they would be prescribing an anti inflammatory and a pain killer. I was given a print out of the lab results and immediately noticed some of the parameters measured where reading high on the chart. I asked about these and the vet tech said the vet looked at the data and had deemed them acceptable based on the age and circumstance of the dog. That evening I administered one dose of that pain medication and my dog was severely impaired by the drugs. I kept a close eye on him for a few hours as he sobered up and decided I would discontinue use of the medication. His leg seemed to be bothering him less anyways. The next day my dog suffered what was presumed to be a seizure. I called another vet I have done business with and got him seen right away. They looked at the lab results preformed by Jackson Hwy and immediately noted that his liver enzymes were off the charts and stated that he should have never been given the medication that was prescribed and that it was likely the cause of his seizure.Needless to say I was very upset by these events and revelations. I called Jackson Hwy and spoke to someone at the front desk who said that the manager would be notified of the situation and to expect a call back from them. That call never came. This isn't my first less than stellar experience with Jackson Hwy, which is a shame because they are my closest local vet.

Best vet for sure!! It was my puppy's first vet visit, and he was scared and nervous.. The vet tech came in and sat on the floor with him and made him feel at ease.. Everything was explained and priced up front. After the visit, they followed up to make sure he was doing well..

I’ve been hesitant to say anything but now i believe it’s time to say something so you can ask questions before as communication is lacking here. I will say they are nice but communication needs work.My dogs are small breed dogs. When I got my second puppy I asked to be put on the wait list when she was three months for a spay as my first dog I did the same and they got her in right at 6 months on the dot. Both my dogs are the same breed and I noticed my first was getting snippy right before she hits 6 months. So I knew my second more than likely would do the same. They said they don’t do spays until 6 months which I understand, but dogs start their heats as little as 6 months. But I thought they would be able to get at least an appointment date set prior so I could have that appointment that week for her.I called frequently checking if they had dates yet. Always no. They eventually told me a few weeks before she turned 6 months, that the surgeon doesn’t let them know until the week of because he’s retired and when his wife allows him to perform surgeries. this was a few weeks before she turned 6 months. It would have been nice to know this info when I first asked about the wait list so i could have planned to look elsewhere ahead of time, if I wasn’t getting a set date yet the closer it got to 6 months. Which I ended up doing but they only had openings 3 weeks past her 6 months. if I would have known, I could have had a date right when she turned 6 months. Now my pup came into heat a week before her scheduled spay at another vet. Jackson Hwy did call after she turned 6 months and said they had an opening but I already set up with another vet and had her pre-anesthesia done with them. Still that date was too late and if I would have known all this info sooner I would have gotten her in on her 6 month week At another vet and she wouldn’t have gone into heat.So if you need a spay here, be cautious as you can’t really plan here you just cross your fingers and hope the wife releases the surgeon close to the time you need.Another issue I had was during her 2nd round of vaccines, the tech never explained what she was getting and I assumed it was what she got the first time. Nope, they added a vaccine that my pup was not supposed to have and I would have told them not to do that one if they would have communicated. she had a reaction that night, bloodshot eyes, drooling, listless, running a fever and now has a nerve thing on her back end where they gave it to her where she yelps periodically and runs off and hides.

We took our puppy in to the vet for the first time. He was extremely loud as he was terrified and the staff was amazing with him. I am sure he wanted to go home with the vet tech as she was the absolute best with him. We will be returning for sure!

This vet clinic is very cute on the outside with plenty of close parking and a convenient location for Napavine/Chehalis + surrounding areas. The lobby and rooms are clean. The front desk staff/phone staff have been kind and helpful every experience. I originally scheduled my kitten for a new pet appointment and had a weird experience where they didn't do a full exam + rabies shot, I think that was Dr. Pham, where they basically just did the shot and I felt like they didn't notice that we were there for first time either to introduce themselves or look at my kitten. But soon after I got a call and they asked me to come back in for another full exam with Dr. Amanda and apologized for the first encounter and wanted to make sure things were right. It was uncomfortable when the same technician from the first exam came into room straight away and confronted me, asking what she did wrong last time. Dr. Amanda came in after that , and introduced herself as the owner. She was really sweet and you can tell she really cares about animals and was very personable and professional. She did a full exam-checked my kitten's ears/eyes/heartbeat, felt his abdomen and checked his incoming adult teeth as well. I felt that she was very thorough and I appreciated her and their team reaching out to offer that follow up appointment to smooth things over. She also talked about food, excercise + play, plus tips on teething toys and we went home with some flea treatment as well. I recommend this vet clinic for anyone looking for a good local vet, and specifically recommend Dr. Amanda. Also thank you to the front desk gal who helped get some dewormer medication for us on the weekend too! Great front desk customer service.

Wow! Big difference from our pups first visit!!Three people at the front desk & not one person greeted us.Tech was friendly, but again, no communication.Brings dogs out, no discussion about shots, where they were given & possible reactions.Tech comes out, say negative... Didn't even know they were testing anything. All the seating is in the same area, so everyone and their animals are right next to each other. A nervous dog , well, let's just say that is not a good option...

I selected this clinic because it is 50 mi. closer to home than where my cat was previously treated for seizures. Yoda needed a blood draw to check phenobarbital residual levels from his seizure meds. Previous clinic hit a leg vein first attempt on two different occasions. This clinic tried 3 times including the neck traumatizing Yoda, harming his trust in me. They gave me sedatives to give Yoda prior to trying again a week later, on top of the pheno. Next try with a different employee, I told them you only get two jabs, no neck. They couldn't hit it again and wanted to try the neck. I told them to give me my cat, "you aren't turning him into a pin cushion". Then they suggested I schedule another appt. and have their Tech. try. If their skills were so poor on the first attempt, why didn't they schedule the second visit with the Tech., instead of another unskilled employee. I won't let unskilled people treat my cats, they're my kids. I had to update this review. Two days after their inability to draw blood from Yoda and he has left rear leg twitching and involuntary kicking accompanied with chewing on his foot. This wasn't happening prior to his last appointment. I'm not a vet, however there are only a few possibilities as to why this is happening. Nicking a nerve or a tendon are two very likely causes.

I think this was the best vet I have ever been to, in 15ish years of pet ownership. I will definitely be returning for my two chi-mixes. They did an amazing job with them being super nervous, not wanting to be handled/leave my lap, and in some cases trying to fight them while they gave care. My boy who hates nail trims so much that he morphs into demon spawn took 5 people to trim his nails and they did it with such a good sense of humor, if only he could understand no harm was done in fact they helped him a lot 😂🙄Dani was wonderful and honestly brightened my day. Dr Amanda was amazingly kind and knowledgeable and approached my dogs with tons of care, it stuck out to me and I realized that I should not have settled for our previous vet for as long as I did. The whole staff made me much more comfortable than I thought was possible, and while my dogs are still not so sure, they are getting everything they need done.

I have brought all 3 of my dogs in for schedule and unscheduled appts. Staff is friendly from phone call to checking in and taking care of your pets. I have 3 good size nervous to see vet dogs. The techs take time to say hi and let dogs get to know them. They are the best

After a long wait, since veterinarians seem inundated with patients these days, I brought our two feral-born torties in for exams and shots. The the staff and doc were helpful, invested, informed and informative. Loved the experience! Such a relief to have found a family vet nearby. Now all our cats are booked for care there.

I have no complaints about Dr. Amanda, or the staff. They have always been prompt, friendly, and professional with me - and my nervous little pup seems to like them as well. (My cat? Not so much, she might still be miffed about those vaccinations...)If I call with urgent concerns, I've always gotten prompt responses, and they get me in asap to get my pets checked out, which helps give peace of mind.

This was the best visit yet to any Veterinary Clinic. Peanut always meows to and from a visit to the Vet's office. On this visit she meowed all the way there. And on the way home she was very calm and not one meow all the way home. In fact she was purring. I have nothing but praise for all the staff at this Clinic. Thank You..

I was a new client. They squeezed my dog in because he had an ear infection, and they were very nice. My regular vet was going to make mydog wait 2 weeks for an appointment. This place cares about animals 🙂

Our pet had a bad day and we had to take her in to this Vet and had her euthanised. The staff not only took us in with no notice but also treated us with so much kindness and sympathy. Not only the kindness but also not charging us an office visit and the cost of the injection was very reasonable.A few weeks later we received a sympathy card in the mail and all of the staff had signed it.These folks are FIRST CLASS and Ultimate Professionals. We don't how else to say " thanks", but we believe that folks like these need to be recognised for the heroes that they are.Thank youDavid and Dara Travers

I brought my 17 year old dog/boy/son to them to take care of an abscessed tooth. They did blood work and found out he is in kidney failure. They were courteous kind and compassionate. I am so thankful that I brought Skipper to them. They have helped me out so that my buddy will have the best care.

Fantastic! They could have soaked me for sedation and x-rays but we walked out with no bill. Plus they were very sweet with my defiant dog. Brownie says, "Thanks y'all!"

87 year old friend goes to this vet with his cat says something wrong. Maybe he is constipated he tells the vet. Vet checks abdomen of cat says your cat is fine does not do a full exam. 87 year old then knows something is wrong with his cat and drives clear to Vancouver to emergency vet they do surgery same day as cat has an abscess on his tail. Jackson Hwy vet charged the elderly man over $100 for fraudulent exam. Since when does a vet listen to an untrained elderly man for diagnosis rather do a real evaluation.

We called the clinic, explained the symptoms. It was not an emergency, but they had us bring her in even though it was during lunch break. They said no animal should be uncomfortable or in pain. Kind, Caring and Efficient.
