I’m really grateful to adopt from Okandogs. When we brought our pup home she had a surprise medical issue that Okandogs supported us through. She is now a thriving, happy, healthy puppy. Communication sometimes took a couple days, but it was all worth it. They also helped with vaccine records when we lost them!

I've been talking about getting a puppy since losing my 16 year old Cocker, Bo. My friend found this listing for Gabi, a 4.5 month old Catahoula mix, and thought I might be interested. It was love at first sight! Since I'm a veterinarian, I went straight to the top of candidates. Jan, the rescue person, was confident enough in my eligibility that she expedited my application to meet and greet status without contacting my references. I booked a room in nearby Wenatchee to stay overnight. I drove with my dog from Seattle area, spent the night and proceeded to Cashmere the next morning, expecting to bring home my next forever friend and companion. When I met Gabi, who I had already renamed Scarlet, I could visualize her in my life and became quite emotional. And then I met Jan. She saw an old woman with a cane accompanied by her gay friend and promptly concluded that I was not a good fit for this timid baby who didn't even weigh 20 pounds. She insisted that walking was the only way to bond with a dog, asking if I was going to walk her a mile every day. How was I going to exercise and train her? My 7 year old Coonhound, Gus, was with us to meet Gabi/Scarlet. He goes everywhere with me and is very well mannered. "Yes, but who have you trained recently?" So, I went home without Scarlet. I was devastated! As a veterinarian and longtime dog parent and trainer I have never had a problem adopting! I have since spoken with Jan, who eventually contacted my references at my request. She continues to be unmoved and has come up with every rationalization for her decision. Is it my age? Was it the cane? Was it my friend? The human-animal bond is dependent on none of those! I have the greatest admiration and respect for people who rescue dogs, but this person was demeaning, deceitful and discriminatory!!

Jan was really polite and helpful, as was Lisa my main contact. Spent quality time on the phone and text getting to know us and the environment a rescue would be in. Made sure we fully knew their process and expectations.Polite, respectful and communicative!

Don't trust this company. They will waste your time and money. They'll make you think you're going to adopt a dog and right before you're about to, they tell you they think the ANATOLIAN is going to need to be around dogs that will play with her. I have 2 Anatolians. They are such a calm, relaxed breed. They literally are couch potatoes and don't move if they don't have to. (Photo of my dogs, this is what they do for 23 hours of the day.) DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY! THEY ARE GOING TO GAS LIGHT YOU.

After having read the negative reviews on Okandogs, I have asked to be removed from the adoption process. I have reason to believe Okandogs is extorting people’s money and emotions for their own personal gain. Although I fell in love with Beau on sight during our visit last week, there has been zero follow through as we discussed, nor communication on their part. I bet if I had donated to Okandogs, he’d already be in an extremely healthy and loving home. Okandogs is the most shameful organization I have ever tried to work with. Any similar stories?

My husband and I and our daughter love Jan And Tom, they are awesome and wonderful people. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get our furry kids .We adopted 2 puppies from them and is very happy and proud,, it changed our lives and health. They are hard workers.

HORRIBLE customer service. OKaN dogs have my dog and will not return him to me, they said I will have to go through PD. Instead of being polite and educating me on the importance of neutering the owner Tom belittled me and said “why should we give your dog back?” And went on to say, “We don’t sympathize for you”. My daughters have been worried about their dog and I had to track him down 80 miles away to be treated like this. The Wenatchee Humane Society directed me to them and said they were “nice”, not to me.

PLEASE Support These lovely people. Adopting a well-cared for dog is only $100 adoption fee. I rescued a neighbor's dog with their permission and saw a lovely fenced area for outdoor exercise and cried as I handed Scruffy off. I left a donation from the previous Owner as well but they are a non profit and can use more help I'm sure. AMAZING people and staff

Do not consider single people or renters. Asked multiple times for dog expressly stated as too small for fenced yard and with more than minimum income. I do work full time, but I stated that I live close enough to my workplace to visit at noon. Ended up purchasing from a breeder because no rentals will allow any other dogs for adoption that do not have similar requirements. Very hurt that it is assumed that I cannot be a good pet owner solely because I am a single person who cannot afford a home with a yard.

They our so RUDE for a place that helps if your not white than they talk so down on you it's great that they help dogs but what they need is more compassion for people. I seen people get there dog took even when it was a good loving home and they refused to give the dog back and talk so rudely to the owners when just trying to get there dog back

Disappointed Arlo is still on the page for adoption. I tried to adopt and was told that because I live on the other side of the mountains, I couldn't adopt. Main reason was because of the vets here and the views for spay/neuters. Even though I said I would drive back over to their vet and that my vet does not have those views. I was still unable to adopt a Legacy pup. I appreciate the due diligence of the team to vet new owners, but I would have given Arlo a perfect home with professional training.

Called about service dogs and I was dismissed and told to apply but there were lots of applicants. Their inventory is huge and the same dog I called about 6 months ago is still on it. I still have yet to hear from them.
