We were the 1st customers in the restaurant that morning. After the waitress took our order, the power went out. Their response was amazing! They still were able to produce an excellent breakfast and did so with a smile. Incredibly impressed at the level of service and great attitude during adverse conditions. Highly recommend this place should be 10 STARS 🌟

Food was a banger! Waitress forgetful, but the cutlery and napkins?? OMG, so dirty….but that’s good for the ol’ immunity.Dessert case was on point. Rack of hot sauces looked promising but most of what I picked was expired or spoiled.The food and ambiance really does carry this restaurant a long way.

Food is decent, we’ve been one other time, but I’ve always gotten a weird vibe so I don’t go often. Last night was weird. We got in a little after 8 (they close at 9 according to the sign on the door), but it said closed on the door. The door was open and people were sitting down, so I figured the sign was a mistake and we went in. The girl that greeted us very awkwardly asked if we were ordering to go. I said no, I thought you were open until 9 and it’s barely after 8. She reluctantly agreed to seat us but I walked out. Stupid way to do business. I went to the Duvall Tavern instead, got there at 8:30 and was out by 9.

As a general rule, I avoid giving negative reviews, but this food was so brutal it warrants dialogue. I really wanted to like this place too. I got the meatloaf, which was very mediocre with elements that were odd such as the stale onions and bland carrots.What really disappointed me was my wife’s eggplant parmesan, which was on “special”. This was by far the worst eggplant parm we have ever had. Not only did it taste odd, but it was also coupled with overcooked completely plain fettuccini noodles on a bed of noodle water.To top it off, when I got there my order was just sitting outside of the restaurant on a table in the 100 degree heat. My only hope is we don’t get sick from this awful showing.My advice is walk 30 seconds down the road and get Mexican food, as take pride in their food and welcome you in to pick up your carry out order.

Quality food and service here! Everything tasted great from the coffee to the French toast, omelet and pancakes! Mid morning and it wasn't very busy because it's a small town but we would definitely come back!We didn't get any of the smoked meats but definitely want to next time! Such a great offering!

We were recommended Carnation Cafe by a friend and decided to take a drive out of the city and try this place out! We originally planned for breakfast but was greeted with weekend BBQ and live music instead! What a treat for a sunny Saturday! Sat outside on the patio and was nicely greeted by everyone working. Very small, local family feel that we loved. Enjoyed a few beers, live music, and delicious food! Got pretty packed but everyone was still very attentive. I would definately be back for the smoked bacon, jalapeno and cheese empanadas and the baked beans were so so good! Would love to come back to try their breakfast and the rest of the menu and their pastries!!

We’ve been here twice, the first time was really busy and they were out of a lot things, so we tried a less busy time a couple weeks later.The food wasn’t great either time. The crunchy French toast had a really small amount of filling and hurt to chew because of how hard the breading is, but my fiancé loves the hot sauce wall. The reason we won’t be returning is because of the pictures attached. A “Large” chocolate milk in a glass smaller than the water cup is crazy. The special that day (chorizo burrito) was really bland, and the pancakes were chewy.Overall, service was not very accommodating and food was not good for the price point.

We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch at the Carnation Cafe today. Last time I wrote about it, we had been denied a seat because of their policy regarding the change from breakfast to lunch for almost 45 minutes so I was not a happy camper, plus the manager had been rude. Today my husband convinced me to give it another try, and when we got there at 11:50 (10 minutes before lunch seating) we were nonetheless offered a seat and kindly served coffee after politely being told by the very nice waitress that she would come take our order in a few minutes. The treatment was so much better, and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS! So, I fully recommend the Carnation Cafe today, great food, and the place is also looking very nice with new wooden dividers that created more privacy.

Stopped for breakfast at this classic style cafe/diner. Had a diverse and satisfying menu, portions were large and we split the smoked salmon fritatta which was delicious, lots of salmon! Service was friendly and attentive even when very busy. They have a wall of hot sauce to choose from and great looking desserts. I wish they served real jam not Smuckers. Cute challboard menu. LQBTQ friendly:)

I came in with my family three years ago when it was under other ownership and management. Found it to be just ok kinda cold and very uninviting with the food really lacking any personalty or flavor!But I returned with my family today and I have to say I was completely and totally surprised to find the complete opposite.The friendly staff costomer service were warm and inviting, the menu was very well thought out and the flavors just totally surprised me. I can only say this Chef was totally impressed with my food and my family's! I spoke with the Owners and Chef/ Baker extraordinaire extensively and have never met two people as passionate and meticulous in what they do. My hat is off to them for making this such a wonderful Restaurant. You will be seeing us allot in your future! 12 thumbs up from this family!

Went on a Saturday afternoon, got the breakfast sandwich and MAN was it delicious. Also tried their draft root beer and it's solid should've bought some to go!! Only drawback was the noise level, but there's not much they can really do about that. Tables are close together to accommodate how popular they are - glad they're doing well!!!

I like to think of myself as an omelet connoisseur and this is the best omelet I've ever had. I'd like to take this thing on a nice romantic vacation then propose to it and merry it so we can live happily ever after. The chef deserves a raise.

Family friendly. Generous portions. Got the smoked salmon fritata, which was great! Liked the dill sauce on the side. Friendly service. Great hot sauce collection. Swedish pancakes also good. Only complaints were on beverages. Couldn't do iced coffee. Good place to stop overall.

Our family including young children came in for dinner today...the food is on point, fresh tasting and delicious! We had the delicious meatloaf, chicken sandwich and some kid menu items...everything was impressive. Even the potato chips seem homemade. Friendly service, clean and welcoming vibe...we will definitely be back!Kid-friendliness: Children's menu, coloring pages and crayons, healthy side dishes, fast service and tasty food.
